Tell me about the week after your surgery....
Thank you for the responses and tips! I'm trying not to think about it too much. The two major surgeries I've had were c-sections and having a new baby sort of takes your mind off all the yucky surgery stuff. This time I won't have any instantaneous reward like that! Haha. I know it will be worth it. I have 120 lbs to lose. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Tell me about the week after your surgery....
My surgery is in 11 days. I'm so nervous. I would love to hear post op stories - good or bad, don't care. Were you nauseous? Did you puke? How was the pain? When did you start to feel better? Tell me everything! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Pre-Surgery Diet
10 day full liquid diet - Protein shakes, clear fluids, sugar free Jello and broth. The two days prior to surgery it's full clear liquids only and a bowel prep the day before Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Almost 7 months out and...
What are you eating? Do you track your foods? Medication can be a tough one. I'm on a med for my anxiety that is known for weight gain. I do plan to get off it after my surgery (scheduled for 4/4)...but my health anxiety was getting the best of me so I had to get back on it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can you stretch out/damage your sleeve?
I also was shocked. I will prob do what feels best for me. I will focus on getting my required 60g of Protein and 64 oz of Water and keep my carbs under 50g a day. I'm not too awfully concerned about the calories at this point. I will track my food in myfitnesspal so I'm aware. But 500 calories is nothing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can you stretch out/damage your sleeve?
Thank you for that video @@Babbs I do wonder if my surgeons office is setting me up for failure. They want you to eat 500 calories and 15g or less of carbs until you meet your weight loss goal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can you stretch out/damage your sleeve?
Oh that's interesting. What would a slider food be? Something like potato chips? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can you stretch out/damage your sleeve?
I just wondered. I said something to my surgeon about worrying that my stomach would stretch over time and he said it doesn't stretch that something happens to the nerves and you no longer feel restriction. The day I met with him I was anxious and I can't remember exactly what he said. Let's say one day down the road after I'm sleeved I eat too much - will my sleeve stretch and the staple line become thinner or compromised? Does anyone know? I get worried I won't know when I'm full (like longer term) and I'll overeat and hurt it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Does anyone feel angrier or more 'indignant' post surgery?
My surgery is in a few weeks so I haven't been sleeved yet. But I do have to say that anytime I've dieted in the past (i.e. Removed my drug of choice - food) I have become really irritable during the beginning stages. There's prob a lot of things going on - hormones and such. But whatever triggered you to eat is still there and now it's likely surfacing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Resolution of IBS
I asked my surgeon about this as I also suffer from IBS. He told me that it should have really no affect on it - but that some people see relief from it due to their dietary changes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

NO pre-op diet? How much did you lose?
I have been considering starting my low carb diet this week. My surgery is scheduled for 4/4. I do have a one week liquid diet to follow before the surgery, but I still think it can't hurt for me to start weaning off the bad carbs now. And I drink 1-2 cups of coffee every morning and I know I'll have to initially give that up. And I'll def get headaches! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1 year and 3 months post surgery and I can't control my hunger !
My surgeon said you can only have fruit in the maintenance phase and then you have to eat it at a meal, never alone. Pair it with a Protein so your insulin doesn't spike as much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Everything tastes gross!
That seems pretty soon for soft foods but I know everyone is different. I would personally just try to drink Protein shakes and meet your daily Fluid goals. My surgeon requires a 4 week liquid diet after surgery. Perhaps you're just not ready. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Four week liquid diet....
