    Costs resulting from WLS

For clothes, just buy a couple mix and match pieces in each size. Accept that you won't have a ton Of variety in your wardrobe as you slim down, but make sure each item makes you feel good. For bras, you may be able to get a little more mileage out of them by buying a size too small in the band and using an extender for a few weeks. You can also use the the "chicken cutlet" pads to fill out the cups for a bit too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How to make protein taste better ?

I mix vanilla or chocolate shakes with decaf coffee. Cuts the sweet! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    This is a TMI moment...

Actually, it could very well be bigger. As the fat pad at the base of your penis shrinks, more shaft is visible (and usable!). My husband has lost about 20lbs along with me, and there is definite "more to love" in his shorts. <wink> Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. My kids were the reason I finally chose surgery. I have a special needs kindergartner, and a toddler. My mom died 11 years ago due to complications of obesity, and never got to see her grandbabies. I want to make sure I am around to spoil my grandkids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Birth Control After Sleeve

I -possibly- had additional bloating in the two weeks before my period started this last cycle. I say possibly because I've never tracked my weight this closely before. My weight loss stalled for 10 days, and I even gained two lbs. I was five weeks post-op at that time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Birth Control After Sleeve

I had a mirena IUD inserted in preparation for surgery. I've had it about three months now, and I'm very happy. My periods are lighter (I've always had heavy periods when not on the pill). I do have some spotting mid-cycle, and for a couple days before and after my period, but I had that before, and it was heavier and longer in duration then. Definitely no weight gain from it. 8. One frustrating thing is what works can vary from day to day. I had leftovers from last night for lunch, and my tummy said "Hell No!" It sat just fine last night! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    NSV shout outs

..........and that is how life is post-op.........good stuff. I found that my cravings extended to grilled salmon, chicken breasts and such. It's a most welcome change and seems to be lasting and here to stay. Good stuff. My cravings are all for fruit and veggies. I'm early out, so there just isn't much room for more than Protein right now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No Sex Drive/Desire after Sleeve 9 months Post Op

It could very well be hormonal. I had issues like that when I was on a higher estrogen birth control pill. Weight loss releases a lot of estrogen. Talk to your GYN, and talk to your surgical team. Meanwhile, try some different lubricants (silicone stays slippy for a long time). You might try something that makes you tingle down there. 12. My doctor didn't recommend one surgery over the other due to my PCOS. Losing weight should help a lot. I do know some skinny people with PCOS, but weight loss typically helps regulate your hormone levels. (After the rapid weight loss phase at least). With being a vegetarian, make sure you get some one on one time with the nutritionist. We have a vegan lady in my group. She counts Protein grams, but doesn't worry about carbs like many post-ops do. When Was Everyone Cleared for "Real" Food

Four weeks for soft foods (moist meats, soft cheeses, cooked veg, etc). Six weeks for all foods except eggs. We are asked to wait until 8 weeks for eggs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How do you look normal?

We are taking my FIL out to Joe's Crab Shack for his birthday tomorrow. I used to eat a whole crab pot on my own. I'm planning on just asking for an extra cluster of crab to be added on to someone else's meal. All I want are some crab legs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How do you look normal?

If you are able to take the leftovers home, ask for a box at the beginning or see if they will automatically put half of it into a box for you. Then just eat what you want of what is left on your plate. It's also perfectly OK to just order an app or cup of Soup. My husband wanted to go to a place that served some fancy burgers, so I just ordered the patty that came on the lamb burger. I ate about half of it, it was fabulous, and only $6. I split things with my kids frequently too. (By split, I mean I steal a chicken tender or two). Our restaurant bills are 1/2 to 2/3 of what they used to be when we go out, so I tip extra. HELP PLEASE! 15 y/o post op!

The nice thing about the premier shakes djmohr mentioned is the container shape blocks a lot of the smell of the shake. A container with a narrow opening helps a lot. Hold your nose if you have to. I know we aren't supposed to use straws, but I do use them when I blend my own Protein drinks. I prefer the small amount of extra air from the straw to the large amount from the foam on the protein shake. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

HELP PLEASE! 15 y/o post op!

You can thin the drinks down with milk or Water. My go-to is 8 oz fair life milk, 10 oz of chilled brewed coffee, and a scoop of either vanilla or chocolate Protein powder. My protein powder has 27 g of protein, a cup of fair life milk has 13 g, so 40 g right there. Another one I do is skip the coffee, add some extra water and a tablespoon or two of Peanut Butter powder (adds another 3-6 g of protein.) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

It will get better once you can eat real food as well. You will find yourself satisfied with very little, so make it count nutritionally and make it tasty. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Food Aroma

Passed by a garlic fry stand at the boardwalk yesterday. The smell of all that garlic was heavenly, but I didn't want any. I liked just being able to enjoy the smell without getting hungry. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I'm 60 lbs down and I've lost a fair amount off the tops of my feet. Some of it is Fluid retention (yes, for years!) some of it is fat. If your feet don't start slimming down as you do, talk to your doc as there could be circulation or other edema issues. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Also, once you start eating solids you may feel quite full for hours afterwards and not want to drink. Plus you aren't supposed to drink for 15-30 minutes before a meal, during the meal, or for 30 minutes afterwards. That's 60-90 minutes out of your day, three times a day, when you cannot be drinking. Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Definitely this for me. The first several days I could only take teeny-tiny sips. The Protein shakes also made me slightly uncomfortable. At first, it would take me two hours to get through a 12oz shake. You have to constantly have a beverage with you. If I take a nap, or leave my bottle behind when I run an errand, I get behind on my Water. It's impossible to catch up once you get behind. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
