Why were you denied the first time. Reasons. I have the same insurance and i had to resubmit too. my docs office emailed me wednesday and said they have everything now and is going to resubmit.

I work in Health Care and believe me they are going to find out whether they ask you or not . the only person i told was my supervisor who is my only friend there and of course my best friend and family. Wow I want to follow u too. I never knew it was reversible that's why I will try everything and anything before rny. I thought putting the band on rny was the only thing that can be done because my cousin had it done

You didnt put ur height down im assuming your 5' 8 or over.. cause i am 5'9 and 180 i love although i went down to 177 my lowest with the band.. your going to get their soon.. Best

just do the six months i was denied. i had the band put in in 2006 it was a breeze my bmi was lower than 40 i had no comorbities ( ithink he used my lower back problems) so moving forward to now 10 years later i need to get a revision to sleeve. i pretty much argued with my coordinator when she said i have to do six months nutrition visits. i would not accept my insurance requirements had changed so they submitted it with out that and i was denied this was in february. i had a tentative date for surgery March 1 soooo today was my clearance i got my psyche eval done chest xray ekg blood work and Yes i have six nutrition visits. they used three that i had before i even came in to discuss a revision (i was still getting fills and unfills fills unfills) and three since january when i actually did go in to discuss revision. so my date is now April 5 they should be sending it to insurance again hopefully by tomorrow or wednesday as i made my PC that did my clearance /ekg fax it to them before i left the office... So try using the visits that you already had along with what you have to date and see if that works. you wanted to hear good or bad and this was bad im even thinking about going to Mexico if i dont get approval. i also put a call in to LINDSTROM OBESITY ADVOCATES and got a free consult when Kelley Called me back. My doc is Doctor Ewing of Advanced Laprascopic Associates in Paramus but Hospital is Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack. please let me know as i was denied a couple of weeks ago and my office is resending hopefullly this week i just had my clearance and ekg today.

Thank u for the info it's always something added to my list of questions. What was the name of ur doctor in Mexico. My girlfriend texted me last night her docs name dr. Kellys in tijuana he did her lapband about 8 years ago when her insurance wouldn't pay she lives in California she drove herself right over the boarder for less than 5000. And she said it was the best experience in her life. And she never went back for a fill she recently found a doc in cali that would unfill her a little dr. Kellys apparently put a little fill in. Because she has lost all the weight she wanted and was still losing and I told her to find a doc to unfill a little. She is pleased. I just want some info in case my insurance denies me. Im so confused with the insurance nonsense i have empire bluecross NYSHIP and united health care on it too my card has all of these names on it. anyway i can tell you that once they get it they answer in less than a week. but you or coordinator has to call if you wait for it in the mail which you will get anyway it will take about 2 weeks. good luck. i have to resubmit everything because was denied the first time february 3 i believe and some information was missing. so monday i go to my doctor and get my clearance and they should be resending it sometime during the week. (next week) i have a new tentative date April 5 i'm keeping my fingers crossed..

Why would you not tell your psychiatrist? Who did your psyche eval. did you not have to get one as a pre- requirement..

HI, Im getting mine done in one step by Dr. Ewing Douglas of ADVANCED LAP-ASSOCIATES in Paramus, NJ. Hospital Is Hackensack NJ in Hackensack NJ..201-646-1121 call him to get your consult tell him i sent you. Doing it in one step has to be determined by an UPPER GI and Barium Swallow Screening that he will refer you to. If all is good he will do it in one step if something is wrong (damaged stomach, stomach wrapped around band) he will have to remove band let heal for 6-8 weeks (depending on damage) and then do the sleeve. Hi , I am getting revised from band to sleeve by my original doctor Dr. Douglas Ewing in Paramus NJ. Its called Advanced Lap-Associates 201-646-1121. He is going to do mine in one step but everyone is different it depends on what condition your band is in. He will base what he is going to do with the outcome of your UPPER GI AND Barium Swallow test you would have to do...I did all was clear and i can get it done in one step. Call him.
