the last time i called my insurance i asked the same question. How come i cant see anything pending or received there should be a place n there that can tell us everything we need to under OUR contract. They dont even have bariatric coverage information i had to ask them for a copy of it from the handbook that i dont have and requested another one. they did send me the three page information in the mail but what is the point of registering if i cant get the information that i am looking for.

oh ok thanks. i will check it out. was it expensive probably not i spent 15,000 here in NY for inner and outer thigh lipo, upper and lower stomach and back flanks about 12 years ago. i probably could get that done in Mexico for half the price including more. So Dr. Ariel Ortiz is the cosmetic surgery doc. i will keep that noted after i lose all my weight. thanks again

Well i am not sleeved yet i have the band i read that you are to eat 2 - 4 ounces of food per meal with dense Protein first than your veggies some people i read can handle that and some people just stop when they feel full and i think thats too late First i would probably follow what he is saying i agree with the weight lost being alot and if u cant take it anymore start very little food. are yo on liquids or puree?

why is recommended so much on each stage it's usually only 2 weeks of each before food. But if he says so i would follow the protocol maybe since you said your stomach was a mess when he went in its probably going to take a little more time.

CHMD, There is no pain the whole thing takes about 10 including getting dressed. lol i have had the merena for about 13 years now (changing every 5 years) it was one of the best things i ever did as i was not good with birth control pills ( they blew me up) the discomfort that you get is just that i little discomfort that will go away within in hour. i just take a motrin right before going in (lol)

I know the pain and fustration you are going through. What you said above about the time frame make sure you use that if you have to appeal. I HOPE YOU DONT!... You have to stick it to them. Keep your foot on their neck. and also my doctors office manager (when i was calling my insurance on my own) to make sure when you speak to someone that you write their name down, because she said that most of the time its a rep answering and they are giving misinformation. Just demand to speak to a manager...Good Luck...

Why did you go to rny instead of the sleeve? im just curious because our stats are very similiar. 5'9 240lbs goal is 175 the least (i think)lol i think 145 would be way too small for me and my height. Willie (my band name for free Willy(fat)) lol Willie and i did great at the beginning we worked together and understood each other until he turned on me. I too was told this band can stay forever if there is no complications, slips, infections ect.. But after about 6 to 7 years he refused to get filled properly so insurance paid for fills and unfills more fills and unfills sometime 2 times in one day, xrays, barium swallows prescription omerprazoles, Over the counter TUMS, Endoscopy ect. ect. They could have paid for the removal of band and getting the sleeve done with that money. And to thing i was denied and had to resubmit (last week) while they (insurance) continued to pay for three back procedures in 2 months ranging from 4000 to 6000 plus a whopping 2500 for accupuncture lol and they (insurance ) think they are saving money by denying the revision. For crying out loud i have degenerative disk, sciatica, bulging disk slipped disk, lumber L2, L3, L4, L5 something that is getting worse with my increasing weight. Oh i'm sorry, i lost track of what we were talking about Yes sign me up!!

No Problem ... Girl i dont know if you can read my blog its in here somewhere. When i had my band in 2006 i wrote about the excruciating gas pain. Now that i think about it (lol) i ended up stayin g in hospital for another day .. Doctor had to give me something stronger to relieve the gas (dont remember the name) i stayed an extra day because i refused to go home with this pain and so the prescription justified that. Bring your own gas x i sipped alot of hot Water walked the hallways got massages from the (male) nurse. lol..ect. ect. when it finally popped i went home. lol To tell you the truth i have a high tolerance for pain too it was easy street after the gas left. good luck and u can personal message me anytime.

Hi Sandra thanks for replying I'm glad everything is going good for you. Whoohoo I know u can't wait. Ok sooo. I see it was minor things but I know it was stupid on their part insurance but thank God u stuck it out. You can do this. ....

All i can say is leave it to the Man Upstairs.!!! As long as you follow all discharge recommendations. You will be fine.. !! If your suppose to do liquid diet do it if your suppose to eat or drink liquid for two weeks do it as long as you do everything your suppose to everything will be just fine.. APril 20 is right around the corner. When i had my lapband 10 years ago the only thing i had complaint about was the gas. this time around i will do everything and anything to get that gas out.

On February 2 i believe you came on board to tell us that you were denied for the 2nd time and that peer to peer was going to be scheduled soon. And you also asked has anyone had to have a peer to peer and how long did it take ect ect. i was excited to hear the answers since im waiting for approval. i was denied the first time. so i scroll down and Carey asked you why did you get denied 2nd time.. i again scrolled down fast because i want to hear the story . but nothing the next text from you was February 20 YOU were APPROVED. Hi Andi, No I am not nervous at all i wish i can get this done today and let them get the approval whenever lol. im getting a revision from band to sleeve. I am not scared nervous at all. Just want to get this wait off i am ready as i already brought all the things i will be needing. Just waiting for APPROVAL i even asked my Doc if it can be moved up from April 5th if we get the Approval by Next week. lolol weight * off lol
