Is this your first WLS or did you revise and if so to what? This site is great i have been on here since my lapband in 2006 and 10 years later im on again. Dr. Ewing is great Same Doctor since 2006.

HI Jill, Congratulations. Did You go in Surgery at around 10. I was there the same day and Dr. Ewing came to see me and my hubby and after signing papers and talking for a bit he said i had someone before me. I went in at around 12 and unfortunately i couldnt get the sleeve done because my band had slipped. So i go on May 24th. I'm doing fine It sounds like you are on track. All what you are feeling are normal it will get better WOW 16 lbs great job..

Anyone needs omerprazole?? i have not had one not one nor TUMS since my unfill and after band removal. It is the best feeling ever. I cant speak for everyone but i can tell you wilth my experience i dont foresee reflux and burning when i get sleeved in 6 weeks.. Although i am not in control of my eating (hence getting the band) i am enjoying tasting my food and keeping it down.

Hey Weight_of_my_horses_back Call Bill, He will help guide you by doing the skype with the Dr. You didn't put much info in example height weight for us to begin to help but who are we i've been told so many times OMG you dont need surgery your tall you carry it well arrggg that pisses me off the most i dont want to carry it well i dont want to carry it at ALL.. Thank you!!! Nope he's not overweight at all. The crazy part is that I was way smaller when we met so I don't get it. He's gone now and my focus is completely on me for the first time in a long time. My feelings exactly that is why i set a goal to lose 13 lbs before by my surgery date because that is the 10lbs i had estimated for Aprils loss. So if i do that i will be on track hopefully. so im setting up my new mini goals on paper again. But like you said better safe than sorry just the wait is hard but exciting. another thing i am keeping myself busy with other than this forum(lol) is things i want to do around the house like do flooring in my living room get rid of the carpet (i hate carpet) empty out all my closets and organize. get my cleaning ladies to come in the week before i have surgery. purchase new patio furniture ect. ect. press checkout on my shopping websites.(i shop everyday on line i add things i take things out but never checkout because i wasnt sure my surgery was going to happen)change the closets from winter to spring summer outfits ect ect. i think it will definately keep me occupied.

Yes that is great having a therapist. Is there anyway you can start seeing him/her before you have surgery. I think it may help a little more so thats why i start May 4th i will probably get 2 or sessions in before hand. Why do you say you cant lose a few Lbs. before the 17th.? I know i couldn't during the whole world wind of episodes i had going on (i gained 30lbs in 3 months) but now that everything is together (pre-ops , insurance approval, removal of band ect.) now i have a little control do focus on losing 13lbs. Well as of today 10 YEAHHH! I am a emotional eater obviously. How long is your wait time before sleeve..

Hi, I am having my surgery on 5/24/16. Really getting excited about it. I have been going through a three month pre-op program that is a requirement of my insurance company and it has really helped get me ready. I have met with a nutritionist three times and my doctor four times and still have two to go before surgery. It has really helped me to feel I am ready for the surgery. I still have some nerves about the surgery. I love reading all of the post on the forum. It helps me feel like I can do this. Thats my date tooo! yeahhhh

I know you will do well.. since you unfilled the band have you gotten relief from acid reflux gerd burning ect. ? That should give you an indication how you might do with the sleeve. I would be highly surprised if i got acid reflux and burning back after sleeve. But who Knows.. As far as the restriction part now it is a maybe that your band slipped i think that is what happened to me. (i think it slipped after the unfill) so if that is the case the worse case scenario is removing band and getting sleeve later but he might be able to do both anyway depending how bad the slip was and or how bad damaged if any. Just be prepared for the worse. I have no regrets things happen and i do know that i cannot do it by myself (with no tool) NOT AT ALL. Hell i gained 30lbs in about 3 months ( a disaster) i have no years to be wasting on yo yo dieting... no way.. cant wait for my surgery date. when is yours..?

I want to get back to my lowest that i was with the band..!! what land is that ? that being 100 lbs OVERWEIGHT is sexy. Get rid of all the negative people around you?.. That is your mans insecurities ( to tell you if you lose weight he is going to leave) how sad. Is he Overweight...My husband isn't and im sure he doesn't want anyone who isn't taking care of themselves. Hell he didn't meet me big. LOL everyone has there own views on all of this. Loving yourself first will make everyone around you happy.. Im glad to read you have a therapist too. That is wonderful and you on the right track.. May 3 is right around the corner. YOU GOT THIS!!

Yes i had all my pre op done even the barium swallow and Upper GI xray everything looked good. that is why he was surprised too. But i think we both agreed it happened after the barium swallow and xray it had to have happened when he unfilled the band as he required 4 weeks before the band to sleeve revision. Did your doctor unfill you before surgery?? THere was no indication no pain in my chest not even acid reflux since i unfilled the band completely. THe last thing he said to me and my husband who asked what is the worse case scenario, and he said well the worse case would be that the band slipped and there was a lot of scar tissue ect ..that he would just remove the band and schedule for sleeve in 6-8 weeks but "i dont foresee that happening because she shows no symptoms of anything wrong" wake up one hour later (it was suppose to be a 2 hours surgery) and no sleeve. You will be fine actually i will be jealous and just wait my turn make sure you come back and let us know how u did?

I feel great just cant wait for my sleeve surgery but im still a bit swollen as expected and i know i have to wait for surgery date. But what i did do today is look into a therapist that deals with eating disorders, emotional eating and WLS. i have my first appoointment with her on may 4th im excited to see if together with the wls i will never gain weight again,, i owe it to myself its time for me to focus on me. My kids are grown and my husband is very supportive of all this even the second time around so its time..

thanks its forever for responding, i have been on computer first day back to work just researching all kinds of things. im very comfortable with my doctors orders just wanted to know others experiences. i read that some people do better with waiting as far as more wieght loss ...do you think thats true. ? How much weight have you lost since March 2016.? Did you gain any weight while waiting for your sleeve surgery? well i have gained about 30lbs since January 11 my first day of consultation for revision. i feel absolutely great without the band. but eating is a problem so i decided today to lose at least 13lbs by May 24th (my surgery date).. At least that would give me a headstart to losing what i originally wanted to lose by Memorial Weekend, Fourth of July, and goal hopefully by my birthday in September. Im considered a lightweight and BMI. What i did read and have already found one is getting a therapist this time around., i found a psychologist who has experience with eating disorders, and WLS.. my first appointment is May 4 so im excited about that. As you already know everyone is totally different i can tell you my experience with the band i had it for 10 years 2 months 10 days and 6 hours yes i counted down the days i couldn't wait to remove it . about 5 years in i started getting burning acid reflux on and off then it got worse as the years went on getting fill unfills fills unfill throwing up acid reflux waking up in the middle of the night from almost choking with hot acid creeping up to my throat. ok you got the visual... before i got it removed last week my doctor had unfilled it 4 weeks prior because thats what he does before getting sleeved. i was suppose to get the sleeve. but anyway during those 4 weeks no burning no acid reflux NO MEDICATION NO TUMS nothing removed the band last week but couldn't do the sleeve because the band had slipped NO problem scheduled for sleeve in may (to let stomach heal) im am beyond happy because i have no burning acid reflux pain in my chest whether i eat or not (yes i gained weight) so im getting the sleeve and i dont foresee any acid reflux problem but we had no indication that the band had slipped either.

I have been searching through google "how long does it take for stomach to go back to normal after band removal" All i get is your stomach goes back to normal after removal .. i want to know exactly how long, days, weeks, months. i know it depends on everyone different situation. Mine is ... I went to get the band removed and sleeve done at the same time exactly 1 week ago today. and when i woke up my doc had to tell me that i wasn;t sleeved because the band had slipped and the lower part of my stomach was going through the band making another pouch with my stomach above the band. i had very little scar tissue as a matter of fact scar tissue wasn't the problem.. he wanted to let it get its normal shape back so that we can have an un complicated surgery ... Im ok with that i trust my doc 100% but i was just curious how long does it take. he wants to wait 6 to 8 weeks so im scheduled exactly 7 weeks from April 5th. Just curious i read that some docs wants to wait 2 weeks 4 weeks 2 months 4month 6months ???? How long did you have to wait and why thanks..

I have a couple of books too that i downloaded to my kindle. browse through a few will sit still and read when i have nothing to do but for now im keeping busy. Do you like to read? These books will help you understand the phases you will be going through also. Hope you feel better soon.

I dont count calories either.. I hate them it drives me nuts and it probably will make me binge eat again. I do either atkins style high Protein and veggies only. unlimited coffeee teaa and Water that works for me and im like kindoffamiliar too.. i stick to the same thing (if it works dont fix it)... And it always works for me. Good Luck.. Your not going to be able to much anyway so stop stressing. i read somewhere that eat your best bite first which should be protein than your veggies and 2 bites of starch if you can fit it. Im hoping not to be able to fit it lolol
