Plantar Fasciitis
Has anyone dealt with plantar fasciitis? I've had it in my left foot for 2 weeks now, and I'm getting depressed. For the first time in my life I want to exercise, and I feel this is holding me back. I have been bike riding and swimming to rest my foot, but i miss long walks with my husband and dogs. I do wear proper shoes, and I've been stretching it as much as I can. It felt like it was getting better, but I played badminton with my son today and now it's super sore again....I'm so frustrated!! So, I'm wondering...if you've had this problem, what did you do to help it feel better?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Who was sleeved in January 2016?
@@kristennichole I'm so happy you're doing better!! I'm the same as you...I don't feel like eating in the morning. But I can manage to have Protein shake for breakfast with no problems. So I have my Protein powder and mix it with sugar free soy milk to get even more protein. That's been filling me up till lunch. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Scared to eat different foods
@@lisalisa1212 Good for you for sticking up for yourself. I think some people on here need to remember that we are just following our dr/dietians orders, and they don't need to post such rude comments Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When are you able to start running?
Just like you, I've been walking since right after surgery. My dr also told me to wait 6 weeks to do any strenuous exercise. He said walking was ok, but that's it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Just Wondering....
All those things totally make sense! Before I had my sleeve done and would go on diets, I used to weigh myself everyday, and if I gained, I gave myself permission to go eat a bag a chips because "oh well, I screwed up". It's because of that mentality I don't weigh myself everyday. I'm very confident now that I wouldn't go eat crap if I saw a gain, but I'm too scared to weigh everyday....it's funny how we psych ourselves out hey? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Just Wondering....
I'm just wondering why so many of you weigh yourselves everyday. I'm not asking to be bitchy or judgy...I'm just curious is all. I just find that weighing myself everyday just depresses me for the most part if I haven't had a loss. I weigh myself once a week, sometimes twice a week if I'm curious. When I started coming on these boards I was very surprised at the number of people who said they weigh themselves everyday. If you do, do you find it motivates you? Exercise/Lifting 1 Week Post Op?
I wasn't allowed to do strenuous exercise until I was 6 weeks postop. I wasn't allowed to lift anything over 15lbs the first 2 weeks, then nothing over 30lbs until 6 weeks. My Great Dane puppy was 80lbs when I was done surgery, and she thinks she's a lap dog, so I know how you feel! But I was very careful to not let her jump on me, carry laundry, groceries, anything like that Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Lunchables?

Mind games & tricks to keep it fun, challenging and motivating
Hey, the only other thing I could think of is have you tried those adult coloring books? I know it's not physical activity, but I love getting my coloring books out when I'm bored. Time flys when you're coloring, and those adult coloring books are becoming very popular and you can find them everywhere. Everybody else has given you great suggestions...this is all I could think of! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Another pulled muscle? Anyone else?
@@Melanie28 Omg...I just did the exact same thing too...pulled a muscle in my stomach on the left side. I'm thinking pulled muscle as well....it just feels like a muscle pain and I'm fine otherwise. I pulled mine when I bent down fast to try and stop something from hitting the floor, and I felt a "pull" and it really hurt for a second. I've got a heating pack on it right now I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow. And I hope you'll feel better too!! Back muscles just suck to pull...very painful!! Who was sleeved in January 2016?

Who was sleeved in January 2016?
@@kristennichole I understand how you feel. I'm almost 40, and I feel like that too right now. I've kinda been a hermet the last couple months cuz I don't want to go out with friends cuz what's the point right? You can't eat or drink what they are. But, the way I'm looking at it is this....I'm almost 40 and feel I wasted half of my life being fat and feeling crappy about myself, and now I feel like I have control of my weight for the first time. I don't know your start weight, but my heaviest was 333.1. If I had the sleeve done when I was 20 like you, I would've saved myself years of unhappiness and depression....I know it's hard for you to think that way now, but when you get older, you'll be happy you did this now. And yes, I agree, eating is a chore now, and I don't even look forward to eating. But I'm hoping that will get better with time. I always have to make sure I can rest at least half hour after eating or I'll feel gross for hours. I don't know what yours dr's postop instructions were, but I was allowed to eat whatever I wanted after 6 weeks. I started eating lettuce for the first time this week, and I've been making lettuce wraps, and love them!!! Soooo yummy!!! This is basically what I eat; shrimp, tuna fish, deli meats like chicken, turkey ham, ground turkey, eggs (I made egg salad yesterday for something different and it was good), laughing cow cheese. I make the ground turkey with salsa and taco seasoning and mushrooms...it's really good with some cheese sprinkled on top. Take a piece of ham, spread the herb and garlic laughing cow cheese on it, put a pickle slice in the middle and roll it up...really good. I've done chicken in the crock pot with salsa, then shred it, put it in a halved green pepper, sprinkle cheese and bake it in the oven...stuffed pepper. Anyway, I hope some of this helps you. Who was sleeved in January 2016?
I was sleeved Jan 11, and have lost 70lbs. I haven't had any issues at all except for constipation, but that's better now that I can eat more veggies. I can eat 4oz at a time. I have a Protein shake every morning and then 2 meals. I eat very low carb, no sugar. I get around 70g of protein, 2 liters of Water and take all my Vitamins daily. Why are you hating your sleeve so much? What's going on? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Risk of a leak?

Any bike riders out there?
Hey GibbsGirl, I just thought I'd let you know that I bought a bike about a week ago. I think I got a good one. When I was testing them out, I kinda figured which ones were good by if the tires went flat when I got on it. If the tires held my weight, it seemed good. I only tested out 3 different bikes and could easily tell which one I felt comfortable on. I've ridden it several times now and have had no problems. The seat was very hard and uncomfortable, so just today I bought a memory foam seat cover and it made all the difference! I was able to go for my longest bike ride yet! As far as gears, my bike shifts gears with the turn of a knob and it's nice to be able to pedal a little harder or easier when you need to. So go for it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
