  1. I guess I should better explain what I mean about my post. I know what I can eat, I'm looking more for different food/snack ideas. I haven't had Greek yogurt because I find it too high in sugar and carbs (except for plain). I don't want to eat bread or anything like that. Because I haven't had any sugar/carbs I'm scared that introducing these foods will hinder my weight loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. You're right workinonme, I lost over 100lbs about 9 years ago, and my weight loss was the only thing people talked to me about. It was kinda frustrating....and even more frustrating when I gained it all back within months. So maybe staying anonymous for now is a good thing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I know how you feel. I lost 110lbs doing good ol weight watchers about 9 years ago (and gained it all back within months). The best advise I can give is, stick to whatever diet you're given to a T. You should have no problem dropping 50lbs in 6 months! I would kill to be in the 100's!! Let me know if I can help in any way. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I am 7 weeks postop and have only been eating Protein and a tiny bit of veggies. I want to start expanding the foods I can eat, but I'm scared. I don't want to eat carbs like bread, rice, or Pasta, but I'm thinking of stuff like nuts, plain Greek yogurt, berries, things like that. What bothers me is, will my weight loss slow down because I'm introducing some carbs and sugar? Should I just stick to protein only with a little veggies? I would really appreciate some suggestions of what to eat that's still good for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Of course you may ask! My starting weight was 333.1. I was on my preop diet for 4 weeks (with a few cheats), and I lost 25lbs on that. After surgery, my initial weight loss was very slow. Which was beyond frustrating. I gained 20lbs of Fluid while in the hospital. After about 3 weeks postop, the weight started coming off more quickly. I've been losing 5 lbs a week since then. I'm eat pretty much regular food now. I haven't touched a carb since December 2015. I can only eat 3 oz of food at a time, so I'm still eating mostly Protein with a little veggies. When did you have your surgery ready2dothis16? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. You guys are all right. I have to go shopping tonight and will load them in the car and get rid of them. My security blanket will be officially gone! I'll let you know later after I did it. I'm so happy you all know how hard this is! It's a huge step for me to do this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. So, I've lost 65lbs and went through my closet and have 4 garbage bags full of clothes that no longer fit me. I want to take them to the donation box, but here's my issue... I have kept every single stitch of clothing I've owned for about 10 years now. As my weight has gone up and down I've always had clothes that fit me. And I've never gotten rid of any of it so I'd have a backup when I'd gain the weight back. So now these 4 bags sit there, and to be honest, I'm scared to get rid of them in case I screw up again and gain it all back. I truly hope now I've had my surgery, I'll never need those clothes again, but there's that voice in the back of my head telling me to keep it all Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hi katanne I figure it's nobody's business that I had wls. I think the more people I were to tell, the more I'd get judged by them, so I keeping my mouth shut! It's nice to talk to people on here who understand though! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Chin up! I was 75 pounds down before anyone noticed. Then they wouldn't shut up about it. Sigh. Wow! Really? That's crazy it took 75lbs for people to notice! I guess I just feel like I'm not doing as well as I think I am when no one says anything Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Hope you're feeling better. Like everyone else is saying, you have to walk. I too had horrible gas pains. Never had any pain from my incisions, just gas pains in my left shoulder. It will get better!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I wish someone at my work noticed I've even lost weight! I've lost 65lbs and not one person at my work has said a thing. It's very disappointing and kinda ticks me off to be honest. I will never tell them I had surgery, but it would be nice to be noticed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I waited until I was 4 weeks postop before returning to work, but I am a nurse and do alot of heavy lifting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm Jodi, and I was sleeved Jan 11/16. I'm down 65lbs and feeling great, but I'm finding I'm craving more support from people who understand what I'm going through. Only my parents, my husband and my 2 friends know I had this done, and they are great, but it's hard to talk to them. I kind of feel alone right now. I'm glad I found this group and hopefully will meet some great people! Please feel free to message me anytime! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am 7 weeks post op and also had a large hiatus hernia repair. I also had horrendous pain in my left shoulder that didn't fully go away for about 2 weeks. The point is, it will go away!! GasX did nothing for me, I walked as much as I could. I know exactly how you feel, but things will get better!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'm 7 weeks post op and I've walked everyday since being about 1 week post op. Last Wednesday I went to a step aerobic class....the first one I've been to in about 8 years....and I finished the step part of the class, but when they started the "sculpt" part of the class with weights, I got really dizzy and light headed and saw spots also. It really scared me. I think I just tried too much too fast. We just have to take it slow Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
