    Pretty diet

I did not have a 2 week pre-op diet, just 24 hours of clear liquids. All went very well Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Multi Vitamin

They might, I didn't think mine would but the company called and negotiated with them on my behalf. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Multi Vitamin

https://www.nascobal.com/patient/save-with-nutrition-direct I use this program. They send me all of my Vitamins, automatically, every month. They contacted my insurance and negotiated a $25 monthly fee. It is awesome! They automatically deduct the payment from my checking account and the shipment arrives like clockwork. For the first 6 months I got dissolveable pills, now I get the swallowable pills. All are formulated for Bariatric patients. I highly reccomend Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Positive WLS NSV

This is one of the most inspiring stories I have ever read on here. I had my RNY this year at 34 years old. I did not have many health issues; mild sleep apnea, pre-diabetic, and a resting heart rate of 94. I was right on track to be where you were in 20 years. I'm down 107lbs since March and 18lbs to goal and after reading your story feel even more confident in the decision I made to have surgery. Thank you for sharing! Unsupportive fiance

Your life, your journey, your health. This is not about anyone else, you have to do what is best for you. Please do not let others dictate your happiness and health, only you can do that. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App
  6. I would like to ask, what did you learn about yourself while going through this process? What advice do you have for people in maintenence? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Regretting

It took me 2 months to be able to reach my Water and Protein goals. What you're going through is normal and part of the process. Every day will get better. Just do what you can and keep trying. Almost 7 months out and I don't even feel like I had surgery anymore, I just eat less and weigh less and feel fantastic. You will get there too! Keep your head up! 9. To start saving money for new clothes, I mean everything...shoes, underwear, bras, coats, bathing suits, all new and very expensive and the need for new clothes will come faster then you think. The pain after surgery, it was intense, but goes away fairly quickly. I was not prepared for that. That reaching your Protein goals will come with time. I thought I was a failure straight off the bat because I was not able to reach my goals. Do what you can and you will eventually get there. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Celebrating 6 months post-op!

Any extra skin to deal with? You are just as cute as a button. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App Thank you, that's such a sweet comment. I definitely have a lot of loose skin on my stomach, upper arms and upper thighs, but it's not horrible. All areas that are covered by clothes so it does not bother me too much. I may consider a tummy lift once I enter maintenance Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Celebrating 6 months post-op!

Not in the beginning for me, my longest stall was 4 weeks, at 4 months post-op. I've learned to just go with the flow, if you follow the plan the weight will come off! Pain question

Yes, the first 2 days are the worst but it does take several days for it all to release. I was also shocked at how painful it was, but it's normal and it will go away if you walk. At the hospital I tried to walk once an hour down the corridor and back. Once home I made sure to get up every 30 minutes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Pain question

Walk as much as you can, I remember feeling the exact same way. Walking, for the next 3-4 days as much as you can will relieve the pain so long as you aren't having any other complications. Recovery is painful but every day gets better Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

Full is different now, not like before. It's more like done, or satisfied. It takes a while for your brain to recognize this change. Once you're back on solids will fall into your new normal and what works for you. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

    Celebrating 6 months post-op!

Hmm, I was only there for a week but I believe it was about 1/4 cup at a time. Depending on the density of the food I could eat more or less. For example, Beans were very filling so 2tbsp-1/4 cup. If it was sugar free applesauce I could eat 1/2 cup. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App

@@sammy246 I'm 5'2. With regards to build I carry my weight in my stomach and top half. I have no hips and have always had slimmer legs. I'm just now discovering my hipbones for the first time in my life!

    Celebrating 6 months post-op!

Thank you! It is by far the best decision I have ever made. Following the plan got easier over time. I'm at a point now that the way I eat is the new "normal". I still have to make a conscious effort to get in my Protein and Water each day, but my options on how I do that are much more open these days. There are not too many foods I cannot eat and I try to maintain a balanced diet, not just protein, even though that is #1. I eat lots of fruits and veggies, salads, and maybe a slice of bread every week or two. I find that I feel better, reduce digestive (bathroom) issues, when I vary my foods. I also still use shakes or I'd never reach my protein goals.
