Hey everyone thank you so much for all the support and the laugh!!!! my bright side is that it bought me back here to this wonderful place.... I am a mental health disability respite Team leader. I had a client snap 2 times the first I only got kicked 2 times in the stomach, the next week after having three days off I was assured that strategies and protection would be put in place for me BOY was I wrong. Within 20 mins of starting work I was attacked for 45mins by a lady who was like an animal...I don't wish to be cruel but I cant explain it any other way. I was kicked 8 times between my breast bone and pelvic bone leaving bruises and big as youe hand held wide open, I had bruises on my arms and I have a broken wrist in 3 places and tendon, ligament and nerve damage. Now I have my slipped band. Emotionally this has been hell coming to terms with an assault, not working, being hurt so bad and a work place that did nothing to protect me. I was banded on the 5th Feb 2008. I was 196kg/431 pounds. I now weigh 153kg/336 pounds. I am extremely greatful and happy with this band but she has been broken from an assault at work. I was kicked n punched for 45 mins and it bought on stomach trauma and vommiting and I found out yesterday that I need a new band. The band is being taken out and the new one put in on Wednesday the 25th of March. Its all daunting and I am trying to prepare myself for this new journey Ky

I was banded on the 5th Feb 2008. I was 196kg/431 pounds. I now weigh 153kg/336 pounds. I am extremely greatful and happy with this band but she has been broken from an assault at work. My band has slipped massively since I was assaulted at work and had lots of tummy trauma. It is now in danger of slipping further down and causing complications. I am having my rebanding done Wed 25th March at 1pm. Im so nervous and really angry

Well my surgery for removal and another band placed is set for wed at 1pm. The band has slipped terribly and I am angry and trying to get my head around the fact i need this surgery done in the first place its gunna b a long weeekend coming to terms with everything thanks again for the support

hI hI Thank you both for the support. I will find out this morning what will happen in regards to my band as I see the surgeon in 3 hours im so nervous. I was banded on the 5th of feb 2008. I was assaulted on the 16th of feb so its been just 12 months. I never expected to have to have another op so soon!!! I am on work cover as I have a broken wrist as well fromthe assault. I have 3 months of work at the moment and they are not being very helpful at all!! but thankfully this is all covered by work cover Ill b back this afternoon with my news thanks again xoxox

I get the same pain and I feel bloated and constipated. I have come to realise it happens when I overeat or something is stuck, and now that my band has slipped I have pain in my left side , my back and my chest alot!!!! I actually had a long piece of skin from some kind of fruit or vege stuck for 4 days. the pain was horrendous. When it came out the pain went away almost immediately.

I have a barium xray this morning and even that liquid pooled in my pouch and wouldnt go down for about 10 mins. It prooves that my friend is definately not doing its job anymore. I see the surgeon tomorrow to see what needs to be done next....This is just all overwhelming thank you so much for all the support xoxo

Hi Everyone I have been banded for just over 13 months. I have lost 95 pounds and I have been doing great. I feel different already. My BMI has gone fron 74 to 58 and thats an awesome feeling. I am back in here as I was assaulted at work a month ago and I have massive issues with my band and looks like I will be getting a new friend. The last 4 weeks with constant throwing up, heart burn and horrible pains have been awful and I am so scared about starting this journey again. BUT!!!! i have been extremely re inspired by you all already and look forward to sharing my journey in here with you all

My BMI was over 70 yep 70.... I was banded on the 5th of feb and I am looking forward to gaining the support of people who have been around my weight. I appreciate my family and friends sticking by me but unless you have been this big its hard for people to understand, there is sadness behind my smile, there is hurt behind my laughter. I cant wait til things fit til i feel like I fit!!! Thhis journey has made me realise just how much I relied on food for a source of comfort and how little else I had in my life. I don't have hobbies, I dont do things for myself. I am planning this week on going swimming daily. I used to love it before I put on all my weight and I stopped. Now I am ready to start my journey to happiness. It is amazing the ups and downs you will go through and one day hun you will feel such a weight lifted of your shoulders. You need someone to cherish you and only you!!!!! I think sometimes we forget just how much we deserve because we have spent so much time being put down and putting ourselves down. Keep in touch and type when you need too hun. I started a blog for the times when I am a real mess. Writing things down have seemed to help alot....I didn't feel very much restriction til the third fill it seems to be kinda normal so dont feel disheartenend you will get there

Hi hi My name is Ky and I was banded on the 5th of Feb I dont have alot of support so I thought I would join a forum and hopefully meet some lovely people!! I was 196kgs when I saw the surgeon. I was 187kgs at banding. I have a lonnnnnnnnnng way to go but I have a goal of 70kgs myself. My doc has a goal of 100 so we will see who is right haha I am still very sore today and cant wait til I can start exercising and concentrating on getting this weight off Hope to talk to lots of you here :glare:

Hey Nat you will be totally suprised the transformation your body goes through when you lose weight. I lost 100 pounds 7 years ago I had PCOS a tumour on my pituatry gland and I was over 170kgs. I started seeing a brilliant doctor in brissie and he helped me through medication and encouragement to lose the weight. I was told I would never have children. I lost 100 pounds in 10 months and fell naturally and unexpectantly preggy with my lil boy. three years later I fell pregnant while on the pill after her birth I have put on nearly 180 pounds as I suffered bad hormone problems!!! So here I am now I am banded so I can enjoy my life with my children!!! Good luck hun

I was done by Dr Martin at the PA in brissy it coz 10000 in total including dietitan visits. I didnt have any insurance My hubbys super paid for it. Post ops and fills are bulk billed I thought it was a great price with no insurance!!!

Heya Sarah I was banded by Ian on the 5th of Feb he is FANTASTIC he has the best bed side manner he is brilliant I couldnt of asked for a better doctor or better registrar. His anethitist was even better well ok just as great they so put my mind at ease!!!! From the time I saw him til the time of banding was 3 months and coz he does do it at the PA out of pocket expenses arnt as much id reccommend him 100%

Hiya hun good luck I wish you all the best. I think over my years of yoyoing i must of lost over 200 pounds but ive put more than that on and then some my biggest loss wass over 100 pounds but due to ill health i put it all on and 100 pounds more grrrrrrrrr Im on my was now though I was banded 13 days ago and I know i wil never see 431 pounds again good luck on your journey

good luck to both of you I was really stressed the day before but once I got to hosp i was really relaxed my doctor was awesome Its the best step ive taken in my whole life

hey josh congrats you are doing sooooooooo well I agree with everything you have said!! I have gone thru a roller coaster of emotions and I am so lucky I have a very understanding hubby and a gret friend to lean on, I dont think people understand until you have been so overweight the emotion that come to the surface as you make this decision and all the emotions as you see the wall crumble that has built between you and the world over alot of years!! I am 13 days post op ive lost 12kg now and inches are falling off, but as the inches fall I think thats when people see more of you if that makes sense!!! good luck Ky

this time last year I was a mess, 196kgs and rising I had all the fatty food the big cake and all the alcohol i could fit in!!! Today,,,,I am on mushies Ill be having a low fat casserole, sipping my water and I think my kids are getting an ice cream cake, coz they are only 6 and 3 u cant have a birthday without a cake lol Funny thing is it doesnt bother me if i have it or not Next year will be amazing, people will be able to buy me nice clothes!!! I will want to go out somewhere, coz the chair wont break, coz the isle will all of a sudden be big enough for me, coz my seat belt will fit Today might be my birthday but i feel like today is a celebration of a new life. I am feeling reborn:biggrin:

hi alway sme I had a reaction so bad I couldnt take it. I was so scared the surgeon wouldnt operate coz i wouldnt lose enough weight before the op. My dietitan put me on a high protein extermely low carb low fat diet for 2 weeks. I lost 19 pounds!!!! It was easier for me than optifast as it made me sooooooooo sick hope that helps

Hi hi Yes yes thats right its kgs not pounds 3 months ago I would of sighed but now I know I will never see that weight again!!! I started 3 weeks ago at 196kgs. I lost 9 during the pre banding diet now I only have 117 to go....well thats my goal of 70kgs. The doctors goal is 100kg but we will see It seems like such a long way and I am so prepared but having some support from others with a big weight loss in front of them would be great!!!! I was banded on the 5th of Feb now I have my friend my goal doesnt seem so daunting. Id love to help anyone else that needs a bit of support and a chat whilee shedding their love handles!!!! :thumbup:

my tummy is still too swallon to feel anything but a bit of pain atm but I can actually see where the docs have practiced with a needle going into my port site lol i look like a pin cushion!!!!

Hi mrs jones I was baned on the 5th as well. I am so excited I lost 5 pounds and cant believe that ive lost 24 pounds in the last 3 weeks Good luck on your journey hun!!!
