:clap2: Hey, I'm glad to hear your doing ok as well I was also banded on Monday and had my tubes tied and a cyst removed. Today I actually threw up and thought I was going to die:omg: But I'm actually feeling pretty good tonight. I've been sleeping in a chair the last few nights and most of my pain is where my port is. I have a huge bruise around the area.... Maybe we can keep in touch. Do you have alot of pain where your port is also? anyway. Glad to hear your doing well also. Keep me up on your progress? Kim

Hey all!!! Well I made it through. I came home from the hospital yesterday and other than the gas pain I must say I'm surviving. My back has been very sore and I actually took a shower and feel pretty good now. Thanks for all of your support and KARE, I got the CD and I am totally looking forward to it!!!! Thanks guys, Kim:D

Vanessa, I was wondering what you find hard about south beach? I did it for awhile and had success with it but found it to be very easy! Of course I did not maintain. I'm scheduled for surgery on Monday and my doc says after that it is a great diet to follow because of the Protein factor. I don't know that I will follow south beach or atkins, but i like the high protein, low carb idea. Kim

hey photo nut, I get banded on Monday too!!! Good luck to you! -
that is the best thing I have heard yet on this board!!!!! I am actually printing that out and putting it on my refrigerator. To all of you who feel like a failure for having surgery...I watched a show on WE the other night called "woman and their secrets" or something like that and I saw two woman who were anorexic who's whole lives revolved around food!! One girl binged and then would work out for hours at a time, the other just did'nt feel worthy of eating because she felt she was a terrible wife and mother.....I don't know about you but I don't have those kind of issues, that seems to be much worse than having WLS? But it bothers me that some people think it's such a drastic measure to lose weight!!! Yes it does make you feel like a failure, because those people are already skinny and you (we) are made to be the weak, fat, out of control people. you know the "lazy" people.... am I out of line here? Just wondered.... Kim

I get banded on Monday!!!! I would like to participate in this too. I want to start being accountable from the start!!! I just have to figure out all this stuff on here first? -
Hi Michelle, I am actually in Toledo... are you still researching the surgery? I am scheduled with Dr. Duckett in Maumee for 1/09. His office does banding all the time. He has seminars once a month at St. Lukes. Let me know if you need any other info, or are you set on your doc? Kim
