  1. I'm a nurse in an ER. My surgery is scheduled for 3/28. I have only told my children (grown) and husband. They are beyond supportive. I haven't told anyone at work because I don't want to hear horror stories of patients they've taken care of and come in with some type of blockage or worse. I also don't want the negativity of their opinions. Most of all, I don't want anyone watching what I eat or questioning me. (My plan is to stick to everything I've been told to a T). I don't feel like it is anyone's business, however, they will notice I'm losing weight and working with all women, (they tend to be nosey!) I'm sure they'll ask me what I'm doing to lose the weight. Plus they will all know that I'm out for a couple of weeks, and I had to tell my boss that I was having surgery, but I did not elaborate, nor should I have to. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance! 2. It's my first day home. 3 days post op. Even a sip of Water makes me feel like I have a gigantic rock just sitting in my stomach. Such a full feeling, that it's actually painful! I'm sipping away like I'm supposed to, but I feel awful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I also work shift work (RN) and I take my synthroid at night before I go to bed. Always have. No problems with my levels. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I gained 9 lbs since I had my GBP yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, neck, thighs and calves all hurt. Thanks K Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. So when does the other shoe drop? I feel great. My doctor did a tap block prior to surgery. Maybe this is why there's hardly any pain? Either way, I'll take it. Everything went as smoothly as can be. I'm so excited for the future! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. What was your defining moment? The moment you decided "I HAVE to do this surgery"? For me, it was a couple of moments. First when my granddaughter asked me to play on the ground with her and I thought, to myself, how will I get back up gracefully? Another moment was eating out at restaurants and feeling soooo confined in the booth . My surgery is scheduled for 3/28 and I couldn't be more excited to start this new and improved chapter in my life. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    March Surgery!

Ok. Thanks. My surgeon specifically said "you will not have to change your diet prior to surgery". But I assume I will have to do clear liquids and mag citrate like you to have an empty stomach/intestines for when they do the surgery. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
