  1. most of the time this is just a recording error - many of the forms used in medical records have a drop down menu. At the hospital where I work if you request your records they are mailed, not handed over, but the staff would be happy to get them to you - so be aware that the medical records staff will just be following whatever protocol - don't be alarmed if they can't just hand them over. last year after one of my cat scans the report said the uterus was normal. I had recently had a hysterectomy and I made my oncologist have the radiologist review my report and update it. they were glad to do so, they had just clicked the wrong thing on the drop down menu. I hope that is all this is, but you do need to know for sure. I do not know why the swallow test instead of a scan? but whatever, if they need to do a test to know for sure you should NOT have to pay for it. other than that, I hope you are feeling well and recovering nicely from your surgery.
  2. my kids always say Nathasha Bedingfield 'Pocketful of Sunshine' was written for me.
  3. at 3 months and 6 months my b6 and 12 were *very* high, so for now I have to check labels to make sure I am not consuming a lot of food with added B Vitamins. For me I think the problem was I was having a Vitamin Water zero daily - and so now they are an occasional treat, and I had none for a couple of weeks. they are watching me close and will check my levels again at 9 months. So I would advise to make sure nothing you are eating or drinking has added B vitamins. I hear a lot of deficiencies - so this was not a problem I expected to have.
  4. pre op diets vary so much from doctor to doctor, and also depending on the individual patients needs. You can be sure that they will only postpone surgery if they do not think it is safe for you. talk to your team and let us know how you are doing.
  5. I've never had any trouble with any kind of Beans - interesting to me that some have trouble with bean skins.
  6. no, I do not think this is normal. Were you seen at one week? do you have a one month follow up in the next week? I would be letting your team know just exactly how bad it is and see what they say. it could just be that your stomach seam is slow to heal, but it could be something else. tests may be needed to find out which.
  7. if it makes you feel any better, I don't like my local support group. you've got us all here, so come and sit a while. hope to hear you have your surgery date soon! becareful to that foot - I hope it heals up good.
  8. another Vernors fan.................. yum.
  9. sometimes I have a diet coke with splenda - or a cola from whole foods with stevia. don't seem to have any problems but it does take me a LONG time to finish it.
  10. what a wonderful feeling! you're right on track!
  11. absolutely! I make my own broth all the time. much tastier.
  12. that's great! I've studied massage therapy for about 30 years. have plans to go to school for it when Margaret graduates high school. I never would have had the stamina before my surgery.
  13. wonderful feeling! this is just great! I had my surgery - went to the seminar right after being diagnosed with diabetes. my recent A1c was 5.4 - when I recently saw my staff did not take my blood sugar because diabetes is not on my chart anymore. I am also off BP meds. everything else is gravy. big time congrats!
  14. daddy............
  15. I only had to fast the day before surgery and then was on Clear liquids in the hospital (you really DON'T want anything else at that time) and then full liquids for 2 weeks. there were a lot of choices for me during that time. if you are nervous, or if you actually have problems with how you are feeling make sure you are with a team that you feel comfortable talking to so that they can help you make good choices and not feel miserable.
  16. . I can tell you that I was completely on board and committed to every attempt to loose weight before. But I got HUNGRY. How is the sleeve different? I am not inappropriately hungry anymore and loosing the fat so because body fat is hormonally active I will not have all of that influencing my choices. One last thought. If I am not successful I am going to go down fighting. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. You look great !!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. . I understand completely. When you are petite your weight can seem "low" to some but your BMI can actually be high. I am around 5'2" so I was 238 at surgery. Feels real good to be off medications. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. last night I was in my Wednesday night class, fall semester just beginning and I did something I've never been able to do in all the years I've been attending there. there I was muddling my way through class - Bible on my lap, phone - pen, paper. juggling it all like always and all the sudden a wee lighbulb went off. WAIT A MINUTE, I am down 75 pounds since last year..... I wonder....... I used the flip up lap desk. with a lot of room to spare! WHAT? being more normal sized makes EVERYTHING so much easier.
  20. ok. this makes me want to get up and do something! https://www.facebook.com/Upworthy/videos/1401403739900480/ *editied* rats. the link shows ALL of them. I mean the one in the gym with the vet.
  21. and realize that breaking down and building up muscle usually makes you keep a little extra Water. hang in there, you'll get there - but even with working out there will be stalls - and maybe some long ones. it will be ok!
  22. it's just because you don't need an ambulance to move you??? I'd just say bless you for thinking so, but the facts prove otherwise and move on.
  23. highly recommend https://www.soma.com/store/
  24. I prefer Soma anyway. I've always had good service at the one here, and to me the quality of the undergarments is far superior to VS. highly recommend.
  25. I will be at 7 months in a few days - I am around 1100 calories most days.
