I am only a month out, so haven't lost a lot of hair - and putting Protein powder or powdered milk on *everything* in hopes - because my hair is fine and thin anyway. I think stressing over it would make it worse, so try to let go of that.
I did find the number of a well regarded wig place locally just in case I need it and I figure even if I lost all my hair it would be worth it to not have the comorbidities associated with my obesity.

it was a nice surprise, somehow I thought I would be sipping for the rest of my life, and I love to drink Water. it was the same for me.

I have been trying to find a better job for about 3 years. I have had excellent interviews, and often told after the fact that I would have been the second choice - I am going to be curious to see if/how my weight loss may affect being in the job market.

I just started having regular coffee this week. at first it bothered me a lot, I thought OH NO. boo. I had mixed it with vanilla Protein drink, and I had done that pre op with no issues. so the next day I tried it with my regular creamer and no problems at all.
these new tummies can be odd at times and we have to play with them to figure out what will work and when.

there is a real good chance you are not eating or drinking enough. when that happens your body holds on to everything it has.

I have been a believer for 43 years, Jesus is the best thing that ever happened in my life!

I use a straw, I find I sip better and gas has not been a problem at all with liquids. sometimes I eat too fast and then I have gas. and pain. but not when drinking. You will have to see how you do.

maybe it would be better for you to regularly have follow up with a NUT, find foods that satisfy your hunger but fall within a normal carb/fat/protein ratio to keep you slim.
-
there is not enough information - have you lost to goal before and regained? how many times? have you addressed your eating issues? do you have comorbidities? are you young, middle, old? all of these things play into the decision.
are you self pay? because I would think if insurance was in the mix it would be a no.

please let us know how you are doing and what the hospital finds out.

I have been using the opurity Vitamins - same company as powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder. but since I have the sleeve, and pills are not bothering me I will go back to my regular multi for women once I have used up all my chewables. my doctor and NUT said it is fine to do that.

you have hunger hormone still in your system. I was quite hungry the first week - but after that not usually. a little hungry maybe twice a day, have to make sure I eat on schedule otherwise my tummy complains when I do eat.

everyone has to decide for themselves. I have been open about it, but I have pretty thick skin and I tend to be pretty open.
However, as a diabetic I do tell people that I have had surgery on my stomach due to my diabetes. because honestly, for me the weight loss is a good side effect, but being off diabetes medication is the best thing.

I was discussing this journey of mine with my husband and he said a stupid thing tonight
"Why don't you just eat an apple a day for a month and you'll lose weight" ......that's how ridiculous people are sometimes.
but you know what is EVEN MORE ridiculous? if my husband ate an apple a day for a month he would probably loose 10 pounds. That man only has to think about loosing weight and it is off. GRRRRRRRRRRR :-) although, he has other struggles of his own, weight is my monster and he has been very supportive of my surgery and is only happy to have a healthier wife. he did not want to loose me young.

Why do you guys (and gals) listen to people who have 1) no experience with or 2) no knowledge of weight loss surgery other than what their fearful minds tell them? You know they are speaking from ignorance and the fear of the unknown. Their opinions have no worth and should be disregarded as the meaningless drivel it is.
I hope I am not coming across as being mean or anything like that but I see so many here who are listening too much to the opinions of those who don't know rather than listening to those that do. Their opinions in this case are meaningless!
YOU know the reasons for having the surgery and the results. You know what science and qualified expert information shows and that is all that matters.
There are a lot of people out there, some who care and some who don't, who will speak their minds either out of baseless fear or simple transference of their own emotional problems.
The facts are clear. The benefits of having the surgery, considering the risks, FAR outweigh benefits of not having it. The risks of not having the surgery are significant as we all know. Diabetes, heart disease, greatly reduced enjoyment of life and all it has to offer.
Anyway apologies for the rant. I just think everyone should listen to truth not fiction and know you did the right thing and YOUR life (and those closest to you) will be better because of it. That is the only thing that matters.
Oh, just because I don't let the comments bother me at all doesn't mean that idiotic comments are not made. I find them to be quite amusing, which I think is the general purpose of this post. I get told a lot that I am not heavy enough, or I should just eliminate sugar and gluten. oh yes, silly me, I should have tried that, in a very sarcastic voice is what I say in my mind. :-)
"It's so permanent!" .... Ummmm yep.

lol. YES, that's the point. ha.

once they have the approval you should be good. they will weigh you at your pre op, but I was not weighed at the hospital before surgery.
-
i have experienced it, but they have been adjusting my bp meds post op, which I believe is the cause for me. it can also be caused by not getting enough fluids.
Although, if you had a sinus infection you could still have an ear infection, they do not always cause pain. would be worth having checked out I'd think.

thankfully not all the time, but boy do I have my moments. I warned the family ahead of time, that while I am loosing weight and all the garbage stored in our fat cells that this would happen - so they could handle me gently.
Also a problem if I go too long without eating anything. I don't feel hungry, and I don't always realize it. I try to stick to my regular schedule of meals/snacks, that helps.
-
I like it in my chocolate shake for a Peanut Butter cup taste - I haven't mixed it with Water yet, but my PCP does, she likes it with apple or celery as a snack.
I am not a huge pb fan, but sometimes it is just what is wanted.
