Surgeon told me not to lose weight!
Christinamo7 replied to missvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
once they have the approval you should be good. they will weigh you at your pre op, but I was not weighed at the hospital before surgery. -
Anyone have dizziness?
Christinamo7 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have experienced it, but they have been adjusting my bp meds post op, which I believe is the cause for me. it can also be caused by not getting enough fluids. Although, if you had a sinus infection you could still have an ear infection, they do not always cause pain. would be worth having checked out I'd think. -
Transporting Protein Shakes to Work?
Christinamo7 replied to Annek2014's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
5 shakes a day - wow! are you preop? I take a shake in the morning - I have a big glass cup with a lid and straw, a smoothie cup. If I had to bring 5 I would think a thermos and lidded cup would be the best option. -
Does anyone feel angrier or more 'indignant' post surgery?
Christinamo7 replied to itstimealready's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
thankfully not all the time, but boy do I have my moments. I warned the family ahead of time, that while I am loosing weight and all the garbage stored in our fat cells that this would happen - so they could handle me gently. Also a problem if I go too long without eating anything. I don't feel hungry, and I don't always realize it. I try to stick to my regular schedule of meals/snacks, that helps. -
PB2? Tell the truth, please
Christinamo7 replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I like it in my chocolate shake for a Peanut Butter cup taste - I haven't mixed it with Water yet, but my PCP does, she likes it with apple or celery as a snack. I am not a huge pb fan, but sometimes it is just what is wanted. -

Christinamo7 replied to crazyplantlady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use unjury vanilla powder in fairlife milk, and add coffee to that. It's pretty good. -
Bummed out by doc's lack of enthusiasm
Christinamo7 replied to Jessee3897's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know that must have been dissapointing - sometimes - just like the rest of us they are having a bad day - or a bad day at home, or a headache you are doing well, quite ahead of schedule, keep it up! -
When will my energy return?
Christinamo7 replied to iwillbeachitagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
up in the right corner where your name is you can adjust your statistics. I hope you are having follow up with your surgeon, they need to know you're having that kind of discomfort. -
so many of us go through this same emotion at that time, it's just a lot of changes all at once, you kind of expect a big pay off, but keep on - it will get easier and the big pay off will come.

The onederland.....it really exists!

Ah! Penny! Why?!?!?(My 600 lb life)
Christinamo7 replied to Kramer17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love this show. yes, the stories are extreme - but I do not think any single other thing helped me prepare for surgery or gives me such a reality check on the excuses already in the back of my mind. -
Fear of STRETCHING Sleeve!
Christinamo7 replied to Fatdiva14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor explained to me that in the first six months there is still swelling and things are not back to normal, which is why your stomach can seem to stretch after the "honeymoon" period. the doctor told me they leave the least stretchy part of the stomach. I have no doubt that xray of stomach after surgery and after a year show a difference, but I do not think it is anything that someone has done "wrong" but rather a normal part of the process. I am pretty sure that weight gain would be due to eating around the sleeve, or drinking calories. -
Can anyone please help me?
Christinamo7 replied to Thruthick2thin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think you are going to need medical tests and a doctor for this one. could it be an ulcer? inflammation? a narrow spot? any of those. needs to be checked out. -
Lets talk sausage....
Christinamo7 replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
one way we get the sausage flavor in our meat sauce is to use half ground sirloin, half ground turkey breast and add salt, pepper and herbs d provance. that herb blend gives it a very sausage taste. -
Is it too soon for vinegar?
Christinamo7 replied to ssflbelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it is all just so individual - I had a pickle slice tonight and no problems from it. I am 3 weeks out. -
Did you feel restriction on Puree Stage?
Christinamo7 replied to Bluesky1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did not have a puree stage, so I can not answer that, but I did not have restriction on liquids once the swelling goes down, and that varies from person to person. I will say this. your stomach is smaller than it was. and so, even if she left it a smidge larger than another doctor might you alone will control what you put in it, and that will determine if you regain. you can do this! -
Best Blender for Puree & Shakes?
Christinamo7 replied to Bluesky1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I already had a vitamix, and it is fabulous! Thankfully I did not have to do a pureed stage. full liquids to soft foods. -

One month from surgery and not losing
Christinamo7 replied to jendolly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
when you visit the doctor do you also get to see a NUT? you may be not eating enough as crazy as that can be. -
Focusing on the percentage of excess weight lost is definitely logical,.................and yet it didn't occur to me to do that instead of fixating on the number on the scale. Thanks for your post. I've lost 79% of my excess weight (as determined by my own original goal weight and BMI) from my highest weight at six months and two weeks out. I've set a new goal weight so I do still have a ways to go, but I'm making better progress than I thought. That's certainly a much more encouraging (and sensible) way to look at it than I had been. yes, that is a much more sensible way to look at it, except Math. :-) I couldn't figure it that way to save me life.

Did anyone's spouse lose attractiveness when they got close to goal?
Christinamo7 replied to Chrystee's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I do not know how old you are or how long your relationship is - but my husband and I married in our 20s. I remember as we began to get older, and I wondered about attractiveness, things he mentioned, struggling with both of us getting older and I told him, look at some point, if we both are fortunate you will be married to an 80 yr old woman who is still interested in being sexually active - so get over whatever issues you are having. I am a feminine woman in love with a manly man. that ought to be enough. Thankfully he dealt with those issues and we have never had another hiccup no matter what my weight has been, or no matter what our age has been. You deserve this, he does too, and so I hope that he can reconcile any issues he may have. -
How can I take 70g of protein a Day HELP!
Christinamo7 replied to leonelbreton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make my unjury shakes with Fairlife milk, which adds extra Protein. if I have a food that is lower in protein I mix in some powdered milk. -
I take a dulcolax daily, but also I make sure to eat some kind of Beans daily. it gives me bulk,to move things along and also gives me Protein. Lima beans and black beans and refried beans are my favorites.
