    Fatigue 6 weeks post op

I'm sure this topic has been addressed, but I can't find anyone who is 6 weeks post op and have fatigue/tiredness. This happens typically in the late afternoon. I am not one who ever needed a lot of sleep (4-6 hours on the norm) but lately I've been sleeping 8-10 hours a night and still have a hard time getting up in the morning. I thought it maybe I'm getting too much sleep but I am feeling drained by mid to late afternoon. Has anyone else experienced this or know is this is common after sleeve surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I want to add...I am taking my victim and every day as instructed: multi Vitamin, Iron, b12 and Calcium. Fatigue 6 weeks post op

Thank you to everyone for your advice and experience. I know it's different for everyone. I wanted to provide you all with an update. I just came from my six-week doctors appointment and I asked all these questions to them. They stated that the fatigue is completely normal. That our bodies are just getting used to the new sleeve and weight adjustment and it should subside within the next six weeks. The caloric intake I'm taking in is normal as well. They stated my three meals a day of 2 to 3 ounces with two Snacks with your Protein shakes, are perfect. I wanted to give you all that update for anyone who is going through what I am going through now. If anyone's doctors have said anything contrary to this, please let me know. I'm always open to hearing other opinions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Fatigue 6 weeks post op

I am averaging about 400 calories a day. I workout so I know I need to increase it a bit but I don't get hungry and I feel full after 2-3 oz of food. I feel I'd be eating all the time to increase the calories. Not sure what to do about that. I am getting 60-90 gms Protein in a day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamins

I have heard of others switching to the pill form. I am two months post op and still crush my Vitamins and take a chewable for my multi Vitamin. I'm too afraid to put pills on my sleeve just yet. I mix the crushed pills with organic unsweetened applesauce and it goes down with no problem. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm one month post VGS and have been walking everyday since two hours after surgery! (Very determined to do this right!). I feel I'm at a point where I'm ready to start jogging/walking. I use to be a runner back in the day and I feel my body saying, "let's go!" But I'm not sure if it's too soon. Please share your advice you received from your physicians. Also, has anyone heard when you are allowed to do sit ups or planks? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. I am 3 weeks post op and I can only take in an ounce or two. I get full quick. So I drink my fluids in 2oz at a time. I'm literally drinking all day but I'm getting my 64 oz in! I'm having trouble with the puréed foods. I bought baby food, since I don't always have time to cool and purée regular foods. I spice them up a bit but no hot stuff. I tolerate that okay but I'm already tired of eating it. I did well drinking my Protein shakes but now that I'm on purée, I'm finding it very hard to get my 60 gms of protein in a day. I just cannot take in more than 1-2 ounces at a time. I get that "lump in your throat" feeling. Anyone have any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

3 weeks post op and need feedback

Thank you all for the advice and support. It was very helpful! It's difficult to find palatable Protein drinks because I have a Casein allergy and its in everything!!! So absolutely no dairy. I bought Isopure unflavored and I add it to applesauce, etc...however it almost tastes like baby formula. I haven't tried unjury or gene pro yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    hiccups after eating?

I'm two weeks post op on Monday and for me it usually means I'm full of I ate too fast. I try to keep my portions 2-3 oz max. I'm too afraid of a leak or hurting myself. It takes a long time for your stomach to heal. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Going back to work POST-Op.

I, too, am a healthcare provider and will be heading back to work on Monday. I will be two weeks post op then. Aside from puncture site pain ( mainly the largest one) when I move a certain way, I feel wonderful! I do get exhausted after 30 minutes walking the treadmill, but I've been keeping myself active throughout the day. We will see how work goes. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
