Are we talking monthly or every other month or so?
Did you have to endure the baggy sloppy look because the weight fell off so fast?
-
alright bros..the surgery date is june 21st
once the requirements start going everything goes by fassst..the earliest date i could have chose was june 7th..i mean the process was fast
-
congrats bro
how often did you have to change clothes sizes within those 10 months?
-
OP got pecked to death for asking a male related question in the guys forum
the point of having a GUY forum is for something like this to not happen correct?

i've seen people say "that person had the surgery i don't give them credit"
like dude you don't have the credit to give anyway..foh...and then at the same time they still have contempt for overweight people
people are weird man
-
that's awesome man..congrats
looks like you're on par with hitting that goal too
-
how's everything going now? if you're still around would love to hear a update
-
she may not know that you are a emotional eater and know how sensitive the subject is to you more than likely
depending on the tone of her words or how often i wouldn't deem it as jealousy or harassment and go running to human resources just yet..sometimes people like to jab
look at it as a third person in the room to determine what the context of her comments are..if you think she is truly trying to be malicious then take action..if not..hit her right back with a zinger

i do not have an answer for you and i do not mean to derail your thread but i have a question..have you used a pre-workout supp. since being sleeved? if so does it bother the sleeve in any way?
-
Can't speak from personal experience (yet), but my surgeon clears people for "exercise" six to eight weeks after surgery. Before that, he encourages frequent walking (ideally 30 mins or more daily once able). But nothing more strenuous than pounding the pavement.

do you feel as if your body can handle more than just walking? not that i plan on disobeying the surgeon or anything i just would like to know what limitations to expect going back to lifting and other exercises
-
i know that there is a restriction on lifting weights for a few months post-op but what about calisthenic workouts?
i'm talking things like push-ups, burpees, sit-ups, squats, lunges, etc.
it's not exactly lifting but it is strenuous work

Thanks. Blue cross blue shield. They longer require the diet supervision so I got lucky there.Congrats! Who do you insurance with?

thanks everyone
i was approved a day after making this thread
went in for a consult on april 11th and got the call to get my requirements going on april 15th
-
Wow that's a quick turn around. I would've never thought that so many other surgeries had weight restrictions until I read some stories around here. It's like you have to save your life in order to save your life. I guess that's another plus to having weight loss surgery.

just went in for a consultation and was told that once the insurance clear i will be getting a call...never got a time frame
how long did it take for everyone else?

i know that you can't stop women from reading the forum but wisdom for men from a males viewpoint should really be enforced around here

Don't show him your post, that would be a really heartless thing to do.
I think this thread has some of the worst advice in it since that thread with the ice cream Protein shake.
Are you sure he is 350? I was 350 for years and I wasn't destroying furniture. And I never had issues breathing and I didn't get easily winded. And I am older than both of you. Are you sure about his weight?
Right?! I thought I was in Bizarro World! A bunch of obese/formerly obese people judging someone for being obese and not being ready to do something about it?
He will do it when he's darn good and ready and no sooner. No amount of begging, pleading, criticising,or cajoling will make him have the surgery.
My husband had a bypass 10 years ago and guess what? It was his idea and he was ready to do it. 8 years later I decided to have the sleeve. My idea and I was finally ready to do it. We supported each other before our surgeries and then after.
If his being obese repulses you so, then maybe it is time to move on. But my goodness try to put yourself in his shoes and remember you were in the same position not long ago.
this. if you are done with the marriage move on for his sake and yours
-
lol people are seriously saying that she should leave him because he doesn't want to have surgery? you people are heartless
-
Since this is just us guys here
pffft..it's never just us guys in the guys room
-
don't go getting rid of a 16 year friendship just because people on the internet are telling you to based on this one situation that's ridiculous
it's obvious that she is threatened by you having the surgery she even admitted it by asking if you'd be the same person..you have to tell her how you felt about it instead of be quiet..that's the problem with most relationships..people speak in code and don't say things instead of coming out with what bothers them in plain english
if she continues to act this way then you should consider reevaluating your friendship with her
-
don't dangle him along..be decisive and do it
-
the male forum is in shambles
Why do people bash weight loss surgery?

I look at it like this..people don't like you for being fat and they also don't like the way you lose the fat...what's the common denominator?
