This site can be a little melodramatic at times, depending on the subject.
Glad I'm not the only to notice. I know the surgeries cause hormonal spikes but sheesh lol.

Are you serious? That's ridiculous. That is not a reason to throw a relationship away.

Lmao I just read all the comments and people are really in here telling this woman to throw away her whole relationship for something like this?

No time for explanations!! Find you a new man that you don’t have to explain yourself to! There are millions of fish in the sea. 🤷🏾♂️

People are weird. They want you to loose weight but they don't want you to "cheat" at it.
If the end results are the same who cares if you pulled them out of a cracker jack box?

Personally success has been different for me op. I've had better dealings with women since wls than I've ever had before. I'd love to say the weight doesn't matter but I'd be a liar.
I'd suggest staying off of the dating sites. Women become irrationally picky and entitled on them. It's probably best to seek out friends of friends who are single. Or get into hobbies or meet ups that involve both genders.

First year out I was a complete a*****e. After a year and some change I've settled and went back to my normal self. Only somewhat of an a*****e.

I used an assisted band and built up to actual real pull ups. Now I can do around 5 before I gas.
Also chin ups are way easier and are better practice for pull ups.

You better fall out of love with it real soon because it probably will not sit right with your stomach ever again.
I'm about a year and a half out and I once grabbed a sparkling Water on accident at the gas station and one sip bloated me for the rest of the day.
Pop Is a no go. (soda for you fancy folks).

Same day at home wow. The sewing of the abdominal muscles sounds absolutely painful. That alone sounds like it would it take a good 6 weeks to get back to normal.
Congrats to you sir and here's to a speedy recovery.

The procedure went well and last about 4 hours. Dr said he removed about 10lb of excess skin. I am less then 48 hours post-op and feel pretty good. The majority of the discomfort is from the Abdominoplasty. Dr said I bled a lost even though I avoided aspirin, etc 2 week prior. I was pretty weak yesterday but sipping on good ol Protein Shakes and lost of rest have helped.
Good to hear that all went well. Ten pounds for three surgies doesn't sound like a lot but judging by other before and after pictures it's a significant difference.
How long is your expected recovery and hospital stay? Sounds like it'll be awhile before you can back to any workout routine.

I think when people say 'lower your standards' they don't really mean you should be willing to date married alcoholics (at least I hope not!)
But I know more than a few (single) women who have a literal list of requirements: be above a certain height, earn a certain amount of money, have a certain level of education, etc. etc. There's a tendency for a lot of women to go around with a Mr. Perfect in their head and that's who they want and no one else will do. The probelm is, he doesn't exist - because you made him up.
I didn't lower my standards when I went out with my husband for the first time, but I did open myself up to new possibilities. He wasn't my type at all, his clothes were too conservative, he wasn't nearly as "cool" as other guys I'd dated... and he's the most wonderful man in the world: supportive, funny, romantic, clever.
So I don't like the phrase 'lower your standards,' but I do think people should keep an open mind about who they're willing to date. Just because a man doesn't catch your eye or make your heart flutter at first sight doesn't mean you won't have crazy chemistry with him once you get to know him a little. Just because he's unemployed right now or doesn't make a lot of money doesn't mean he can't be a great guy who keeps your house running like a well-oiled machine (stay at home dads!)
Anyway, no, avoiding drunks and cheaters is not being too picky. But beyond that... I think it's worth it to give unlikely suitors a chance.
Somebody gets it....

My surgery has been set for December 11th. My pre-op is on November 28th. I'll be undergoing panniculectomy with Add-On Abdominoplasty as well as the Gynecomastia. All which were approved by insurance (Anthem)
I'm a bit nervous on the recovery. Hopefully like with any surgery the sooner I can get up and moving the better off I will be. Luckily I will have 3 weeks off work to recover and my Mom will be flying out on December 9th from North Carolina to help assist with my boys (2 and 4)
Like most guys there haven't been many before/after pics. I know I will take some. Before and through out the healing to potentially share with other guys looking to have plastic surgery done
I just hope once all the healing and swelling is said and done its what I'm am envisioning. Which is no more moobs and a flat-ish stomach area.
Keep us informed bro. It's nice to hear insurance is covering it all.

Exactly, most of the attention I've received has been from women with significant others. It really starts to make you wonder about relationships in general.

Same.
The sad part is they literally don't care.

dating beyond your 30s is hard...sometimes people have to lower their standards but they refuse to which makes it harder

WRONG.
men don’t post much here anymore because women like you just can’t seem to comprehend the notion of subforums. thus ruining the comraderie we are seeking.
or you just can’t stop yammering. probably both.
go to the Women’s forum...... SEE NO MEN THERE.
Truth. I've been here for awhile and women just can't help themselves. I've literally seen women give a man advice on how to grow a beard.
A thread can go two pages full of women giving their two pennies before a man post anything.
