  1. Oh my goodness....the crying! I'm 6 days post op and I have no pain, can get in a good amount of liquids, but the crying is awful. I don't even feel like myself. Plus I have no patience at all for anything..the dog, the 6 yr old...it's awful. I hope this part of it ends soon.

    @@FMoore2004 Keep holding on!

On my 4th day post-op I had multiple crying fits.

It's very frustrating! I had a lot of gas pain and nausea.

I'm now on 9th day post-op and feeling great (lost almost 20 lbs).

    My tips:

    - sleep well - your body needs rest to heal.

    - Listen to your body, as Barry said.

    - For me, drinking in really small sips while standing up gave my stomach "room".

    - I froze cubes of natural sugar free juice. Best "popsicle" ever.

and finally: cry. let it all out.

A few days ago I felt like stabbing someone. If you need anything, IM me.

    lots os love

  2. I am so very very excited! My surgery day was confirmed just today! March 17! I am having my surgery at the Obesity Control Center in Mexico. I have wanted to do this for such a very long time... I first looked into WLS back in 2008, and first contacted the surgical center I am going through almost two years ago, but I was unable to proceed for financial reasons. I am so ready to feel better! to feel good in my body! I have been creeping on this site for a loooong time. feels good to have started the journey, and to be interacting with all of you beautiful people.

    Cheers!

FYI: I live in California, Surgery in TJ, Age:35, BMI: 40

    We got this!!

I'm having my surgery the 24th of March at Obesity Control Center! You are a week ahead of me....so exciting! Ready for a new you?? I'm sure ready for a new me!

  3. I'm having my surgery with Dr. Ariel Ortiz on March 24th. I have researched, asked questions, and researched some more and I feel very comfortable with my decision to go with Obesity Control Center. I hope your loan comes through! Such an exciting step. I would be happy to tell you all about my experience once I have the surgery!. :) Jamielogic had surgery with OCC and she was very helpful in giving me info. Us sleevers gotta stick together!

Hi! First-time poster here. I have an appointment with the bank tomorrow. If my loan gets approved, I'm getting a VSG with Dr. Ariel Ortiz, from the Obesity Control Center. Spoke with him on the phone yesterday, seems like a great guy; his credentials are very impressive too.

I really hope I get approved. I'm terrified!

  4. I had my sleeve in on Sept. 1, 2014 with Ariel Ortiz. It went great! I received great care at OCC and great follow-up support from the nutritionist and other doctors (Dr. Jimenez and Dr. So). Feel free to PM me if you want more details on my experience.

Thanks for responding! I would love more details on your experience...how do I PM you?

  5. Hi! I did my sleeve in OCC in December 2015 and I am very happy with the results. I am 56 pounds down. The medical staff was very polite and professional and the medical care is by far better than what we get here in Canada for our taxpayer monies. I also relied on this web site only for the information. I have never met a real sleever before making a decision, but I am glad I did. The best decision of my life. I wish I did it before. The hotel was great ( if you are taking a buddy they will love the food in the Mariotte 's restaurant. Probably the best food my hubby ever had staying in the hotel). Dr Ariel Ortiz was also good. I felt I was in good hands. There were 5 of us in the clinic recovering from the operation - 3 from Canada and 2 from US. We felt safe in Tichuana, there are lots to see and do there as you need to walk a lot after the operation. I hope it addresses some of your questions. Good luck!

That's an awesome weight loss so far! Thanks for responding....makes me feel better to actually hear from someone who went to the same place I'm going. I scheduled my surgery date (March 24) and I couldn't be more excited!

  6. Hello all,

I have never joined a forum of any type so I don't know how it all works but hopefully I'll get the hang of it. :) I don't have a confirmed surgery date (very close to making the decision) but wondered if anyone has been to Dr. Ariel Ortiz at OCC? I have researched Dr. Ortiz and the center very extensively and I feel pretty comfortable with my decision to go there. Any feedback would be great.
