I think I will but I don't see him until Aug. Some days are a breeze and others are so hard. Maybe it is just me. I am just really happy for you. I too am very hard on myself, sometimes I worry myself till I get sick to my stomach, such a dork. I just never ever want to go back to where I was. It was totally unhealthy and I look at pictures now and am totally embarrassed at how heavy I was. But, on a better track now

Congrats on the loss. That'a great!!! I know my hunger is head hunger. If we are out and busy I rarely eat until we get home at night. I do drink my shake and eat at least a yogurt. But, like I said today is one of those days. I am really happy for your loss.

How are you doing? I am having one of my hungry all day days. I hate these. All I think about is what I can have. Gotta get over these. Drinking my decaf tea like crazy. 34 ounces down and working on second 32 oz. I'll be up all night! Hope you are doing well. Just checking in.

    Hungry

keep trying you can make it. You're doing it. I am almost a year out and I am gong through the hunger stage. Some days are ok, some it seems I am hungry all day. Those are the rough days, and I hate them. All I think about is food and what I can have to stay around my 1200 cal limit. Also any suggestions on a good cookbook for bariatric surgery patients after surgery? I have looked at some and they are all "fancy" as I call them. Just simple recipes is what I am looking for.

I have never tried their's, not sure why. I do eat Special K Bars. Chocolate on the bottom, granola on top of that and then I get the chocolate chip ones but they cost me 170 cal. But if I remember right they have a good amount of Protein in them. I really need to try the Premier Protein Bars, can't believe I haven't. Tried Quest, it was like eating sand, it was awful. I really liked the Nature Valley honey & Oats before surgery. Also, Fiber One Brownies 90 cal. some fiber. Wal Mart also carries the shakes if you want to try a small pack first. The colder the better. Sometimes I almost freeze them and then eat them like ice cream.

Mine are Premier Protein I buy them at Sam's. Do you have Sam's where you are? I actually look forward to them. They taste like chocolate milk. They also have vanilla, & vanilla strawberry. I have to have 1 a day but if I get really hungry I have 1 or 2 more. It's a good amount of Protein. I get a 12 pack for about $14,

I know it is really hard to go with lo cal Snacks. You go to coffee I go to decaf tea. Not allowed anything carbonated forever, I also drink fruit flavored Water. Peach is the best. But I love peaches. I'm so sorry you were worried about me, but thank you for thinking of me. My scale has been wrong plenty of times. There is no way you could be gaining. Do you drink Protein shakes? The one my surgeon has me on pretty much fills me and has 30gm of Protein. And it's chocolate and doesn't taste like God knows what, If I drink one really cold and slow it will fend off the hunger for awhile. I have researched foods I can have for a snack at 100 cal or under and I try to go with those. But, I am not going to lie there are days nothing helps...I just get crabby cause I am hungry and then I look at the pic of me before I started this on my fridge and it brings me right back to reality. I can't stress how big I was, It was morbid. I am betting you are doing great, you just need to look into fill in foods with Protein that will help you get all your protein plus help fill you up. Did this help at all? I hope I am not rambling or boring you. Thanks again for thinking of me.

    Pre-Surgery Questions

I was unable to exercise at all before surgery. I am handicapped and use a wheelchair, my knees are shot. But, since surgery I have been able to walk short distances and each time a little farther. I guess you need to exercise according to what your body feels like. I always worried about my incision sites but they were fine. As far as after, I was never tired from the surgery. I was out shopping in about 4-5 days. Had to take it easy but I was out there. I did wear out, but just being out there knowing I was losing made me prouder of myself for doing it. I was extremely heavy. I had to loose before I could even have surgery, but, my surgeon got me though it all. He was amazing and his staff was too. Always backing me and making me want to accomplish more. Has this helped you out at all? My surgeon also suggested some exercises as did the physical therapist that visited me during my stay. You need to do what feels ok and don't overdue it. Been there, done that and totally regretted it. By the way, for 2 weeks after surgery I was on Protein Drinks and clear broths. But every surgeon could be different. Hope this helps some. My surgery was at the end of last Aug. Just had my 6 month appt.

So sorry things are crazy we are organizing a memorial for my best friend Pat. Her family is doing nothing which just bugs me out of this world. I don't blame this on Pat's passing but boy there are some days when I am starving all day. Then I worry I have stretched my stomach out or something. All I do is worry about it and the more I worry the more anxiety I get about the diet. If you were eating too much it most likely would come back up. Mine did and after that I really watched myself. I can tell if I am pushing it, my chest starts to feel full, like it is backing up from my stomach? Might not be possible but it gets me to stop. Sorry about being gross. I believe you are losing weight. I still do the same thing every time I go to my surgeon or my regular doctor but, so far, I have lost, maybe not a lot but anything helps. I really bet you have lost, you just can't see it right away but it will be very noticeable soon. I was much, much heavier than you and it took me awhile to see it because I was really heavy and I am not kidding. VERY HEAVY. Very embarrassing for me. My husband never said a word about it. You are doing it I know. Hope to hear from you. Keep up the good work. Again sorry about being away.

    Question

You have gotten some good advice. Just stick with the protein and drink your fluids. Everyone hits a stall. I am a year out at the end of this August and I have hit stalls. It is very frustrating after all your hard work, nothing lost. But it will come. Just hang in there

Well, I wanted to update you. Last week was a hard one, my very best friend suddenly passed away. Besides being totally lost and confused my first inclination was to just eat anything I wanted to. My stress reliever. But then I thought about my friend Pat and knew she would not want me to do that. She and my husband along with other friends have been super supportive and in my own way I didn't want to let her down. Sound weird? I am handicapped and Pat and my husband always said we are all going to ride bikes one day, Pat was heavy but not to the degree I was. So, I got past the urge to just stuff my face and stay on track. On weigh in day at my house I actually lost 5 more pounds. I was sooo happy. Still long way to go but each little step forward is a victory. How are you doing? Things going well I hope. Please keep me posted on you.

How are you doing? I wanted to share with you that I lost 5lbs. last week, I had gained a few and couldn't figure out why so I went back to keeping a food log with calorie counts. I was amazed at how much I was going over our agreed upon total, which is 1200, my surgeon I came to an agreement on this. Wow! I was not intentionally going over, nut I was surprised when I went back to logging again. Think I better stick with the logging. How's your journey going? Keep me posted. This past week has been really rough for me my very best friend passed away suddenly last Friday. I have a hole in my heart , I miss her but she always wanted me to succeed. She was one of my main cheerleaders and I just keep thinking of her telling me to keep on going. Hope to hear from you.

I worry about that everyday. And also some-days I just can't get in all my Protein and have proper meals, I only eat yogurt, my shakes with up cal in one, and Cereal because we are on the run ll the time. I am walking more and trying to exercise from the wheelchair. The doctor, not my surgeon my regular doctor is making me feel horrible because some days my legs are so sore I can't even touch them and all he says is "you gotta do it anyway no pain no gain". Sometimes the pain won't let me. I am not a sissy but to hear him talk I am. It just brings my mood down and makes me doubt myself.

Since August I have lost over 50lbs. but I had to go one year before monthly and in that year I lost 100lbs but still have a way to go. I was extremely heavy. I look back and can't believe what I let myself do to myself. Yes, there are times when I feel like I am eating more, and I am. I worry I have stretched my stomach as they told me you could. It worries me. But then other days I am ok and barely eat anything.I really don't understand and I am in a wheelchair so exercise is very limited. I have gone down 3-4 sizes in clothes. That make me feel pretty good, In fact I am hungry right now!

I would love to be a buddy. I too had the sleeve done in Aug 2016. I have signed up for other buddies but I never could find their questions or responses, I would really enjoy it because I notice we are about in the same weight bracket, except I was a lot heavier than you at the time of surgery. So, if you don't mind me flopping around looking for your posts I would be really happy to be your buddy. Let me know. Have a good one.

My doctor had me start with mushy after a 2 week liquid diet along with Up Cal which I mix in my shake and Bariatric Vitamins. These are both forever. Anyway, he also suggested mashed potatoes. They were amazing after not having any solids for so long. Also did everything you mentioned but the beans. You can do it! Good luck with the spinach salad.
