Omg we are the same time out and I also gained 3 lbs as well. I was bummed at first but realized my journey is not done and it will fall off and then some [emoji4] chin up !

I'm sure this has been asked time and time again but at what point post op did you begin to get rid of old clothes? I want to buy new pieces but I also realize I'm nowhere near my goal weight. Also ladies, when did you all start replacing bras ? Any input is welcomed and appreciated

Good luck!!! [emoji4]

For those of you who are far post op from your procedure, have you used any skin firming lotions? Do you think it helped? Or is it a waste of time and money? I do realize everyone is different, but I wanted to see different thoughts on this.

eek you're so close to the finish line. Keep me updated
I am beyond ready! Just waiting to finish my 6 months of visit (4 down, 2 to go!) So glad you're doing well!
everything went well . The first three days were hell but I was also off pain meds by then. I'm getting better and better each day. Just working on getting in my Protein for energy before I return to work. Are you ready for yours ?
Hey! How did surgery go with Dr.Greene? How are you feeling?I'm about 5 days post-op, I'm curious as to when I can expect the surgical glue to "fall off"? It keeps snagging onto my clothing and I'm afraid to wash them in the shower so I just let lukewarm Water fall onto them.

How far along are you in your journey? It'll be wonderful to know if there's any newbies or sleeved friends that are close to me! I'm attending Johns Hopkins Bayview Bariatrics with Dr. Steelea female

A few thoughts- usually if your insurance company covers the CPAP, then you get your machine through a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company that participates with your insurance. Most of them will come to your house and deliver/set up the CPAP and show you how to use it. You might need to just give your DME company a call and try to work out a time that they can come to you instead of you coming to them.
If that isn't how your insurance works, and if you check with your surgeon and he says you absolutely need the CPAP for surgery, then I would call the sleep study place where you went and ask for a copy of your CPAP prescription. They may give you a hard time about it (saying that they will just send it to the DME company) but you are allowed to buy your CPAP on your own and they have to give you your prescription. Then I would go to secondwindcpap.com and buy the cheapest one you can find, along with a mask. They will set it to your prescribed settings and send it to you. You should be able to get it an a few days.
I will say that I brought my CPAP to my surgery as required, but I never used it while in the hospital. My oxygen level never dropped low enough for them to put it on me.
Thanks for the great suggestion! I called the sleep study center and they are going to send me a copy of my script, and I'm going to go online and order one. Thanks again. I feel a lot more at ease now.

So at the beginning of my journey, the mandated sleep study determined that I have mild sleep apnea. On my last appt my nurse told me to make sure that I have my cpap machine the day of my surgery. Here's the thing, I never went and got it . Honestly with school and work the past month it had slipped my mind. My surgery is scheduled for June 8th and I'm terrified that they will cancel if I don't have the cpap machine. I won't have time to get it this week and next week I will be heading out of town. I'm freaking out majorly. I know it's no ones fault but my own , but I don't know what to do. I'm afraid that when I tell my doc at my pre op on Wednesday that he is going to cancel my surgery . Anyone have an issue like this ??

I was submitted on a Friday and was approved on a Tuesday, I also have bcbs

I'm June 8th [emoji4]

My date is June 9th. I'm too busy with the end of the school year stuff to think much about it.
I'm June 8th, and just like you I've been to busy stressing with school to stress about the surgery lol. I'm excited though [emoji4]

I was able to speak with someone and I am now scheduled for the 9th. Thanks for your kind words. I'm hoping there are no more issues going forwardI really do not have to start over with another doctor u can explain to them what's going on and what u want to do.U might can pick up where u left off. Good luck

Well I called once more before sending an email. She apologized and was able to set me up for June 9th. I'm both nervous and excited about my journey [emoji4][emoji4]

So I was approved for surgery , yayyy!!! But I can't even be too excited. I found out after calling my insurance company cause my surgeon office has been completely silent with me since my final appointment on the 22nd. I called and left a voicemail requesting a call lack for an update last week..no callback received. I called back 2x more and the coordinator either was gone for the day or she was out all together. I'm getting frustrated and want to see about setting a date so that I can coordinate my time off but I'm really at a standstill. I called once more yesterday , and convienetly she was with a patient and said she would call back..nothing since then! I don't want to keep calling and annoying them, but I'm really trying to get a move on things. I'm so annoyed and am really considering just starting over with a new dr office altogether [emoji19]

How soon are you hoping to have it done ?
-
I just had my last appointment on the 22nd and my info was submitted to ins on the 28th. Dr Greene and his staff are awesome !!

Hey there [emoji112]???? I'm working with dr Greene [emoji4]

I don't have Carefirst, but I do have BCBS (Federal Employee). My info was submitted on a Thursday afternoon and approved the next Monday.
That's no time at all I'm hoping mine is just as fast as yours
-
Had my last appointment on the 22nd, just called my insurance (Carefirst BCBS) and the authorization request is currently under review after being received on the 28th. I am so nervous about whether or not it will be approved . Anyone with Carefirst know about how long a decision takes ?

she just said they didn't have as much Protein as she'd like me to have post op. Since I'll be liquid for 3 weeks post, she wants something with more Protein and cals. Also I was planning to stop them just because it is much more cost effective to buy a powder protein, I go thru a four pack of those shakes so fast@2nsleeves26 I am currently drinking Atkis shakes and my surgery is in 2 days. Did he say why he didn't want you drinking them?
