Did anybody have H-pillory before their surgery, and how about after?
-
Hello my friend. First I'm not in your exact shoes, but I get the shoes you wear.
First off support is your biggest need. People who get what you're going through, but at the same time hold you accountable.
Second, weigh things out. If you're really serious about this then you'll have to be as serious about quitting your substance abuse.
I smoked for a good while. I knew I needed to lose weight. I knew I wanted to, but want sure how. I went to an orientation as my first step for GPS, and there they explained that if I were to smoke after my surgery I would have an ulcer.
So I decided to ask a close friend of mine that understood my addiction to tobacco, to support me and keep me accountable. It's not been easy and at times I crave. But I also remind my self why I quit; I quit for my health, I quit for me.
I have a sister who had the GPS and for a while it worked. But soon she began doing the same things as before, drinking smoking and not taking care of her body; she gained 80% of her weight back.
So this isn't a judgement of wether you're good or bad. But it is a plea to ask yourself if you are really ready for this life changing event in your life if you're not ready to give up the other life altering event in your life.
I hope the best for you my friend.

Hello all. I have been wondering how the surgery and weight loss will change my medicine intake.
Primary concern is that I'm an epileptic and take several meds. I just was wondering if anyone has dealt with this at all.
Thanks.

I think they have to see that there is a continued irritation issue with your extra skin in order to cover it.Was wondering if I have excess belly skin after surgery ....how hard it is to get insurance to remove it??? I have issues as it is (& little tiny skin colored moles all under that area) I have to keep clothing tucked under there (especially night gown) in order for it to be semi comfortable....

Hi all. I am ramping up for the GP, and my doctor wants me to lose 30LBS. Here's the things, I've changed my diet and am trying. Exercise is a bit hard right now due to my lower back pain.
Is there anything any of you can give me pointers on wether poop or preop?
Thanks all.

I would say be prepared for the emotional changes. I just started my journey toward the gastric, and already I'm noticing things I never did. It's good, but challenging.
Good luck!

I think that's it. I never really paid attention to it before, as it was just a part of me, literally. However I now am seeing and feeling the great desire to see the me underneath me.
Thank you all for the responses! Does anyone have a BF/AF?

Have any of you after beginning the journey, felt more aware of your weight? I know I've been over aware, it seems.
I've noticed I e been more discouraged. Not about the surgery, I'm excited for that, but about my current weight condition.
Any help would be appreciated.

How did you quit; what steps did you take?

Thanks everyone!

Hello all. I have a question. It's not so much about surgery as it is about the issues that come with being heavy.
Do or have any of you had issues with sweat under your stomach, and what did you do or are doing to remedy that issue?
Thanks!

Thank you my friend. It's weird to me. Ever since I've begun this journey I've become very aware of my weight, as before I didn't pay much attention to it. I mean I'm confident but I am tired of all of the weight, and want to be better.

Thank you both for your insight. CONGRADULATIONS to you both!

I feel you on that. The tingling sensation. What I've tried to do more is drink seltzer flavored water, and that seems to work well, and my doctor said it was alright.
Hope this helps. ????

Hello everyone. My name is william or you can call me KOOLAID.
So I've begun my journey toward the gastric bypass.
I'm excited, but I have to admit, I've become more aware of my weight problem. Part of me feels discouraged at big I am. 430 lbs. however the other part of me anticipates this change in my life.
What if any have you all felt prior to and after surgery?
