  1. Hi Cathrine. I was banded on July 16 and was told by my doc 2 weeks later that I have the same thing. He said that it was pretty uncommon and would have never believed it until he saw it for himself on the biopsy results. I asked him if it would affect my band or what info he could tell me. He informed me that it wouldn't affect my band, I am not contagious whatsoever to anyone at any time, and I would probably have never known it if I didn't have a biopsy of my liver. Go figure! He aked me if I had ever been around anyone with tuberculosis and I said that when I was two yrs old my cousin had it and I was around her. But anyway I am trying to research any info on the internet that I can because I feel kinda strange just knowing that I have ANY form of hepatitus wether it be contagious or not. So I'm in the same boat you are and hopefully we will never have any problems from it.

  2. Hi Leslie. You mentioned that you were consuming high amounts of Protein. May I ask how much? I'm drinking two protein whey bullets daily which add up to 84 grams of protein and I thought I was doing good. Is that too much also? I was banded on July 16 and have lost a total of 13 lbs which doesn't include the 15 I lost on my pre op diet. I wont go in for my first fill until the end of August.

  3. Hi Donna. I was also banded on Wednesday July 16 and my stomach is growling and I'm having horrible hunger pangs. Some of it is probably the gas. I was on a month long liver shrinking diet and then a 3 day liquid diet right before surgery and I never felt this hungry. I cant wait to start on blended foods starting this Sunday! But for right now my Isopure Protein Drinks and Unjury chicken broth are helping somewhat. Good luck to you and let's keep in touch.

  4. My doctor required a 30 day liver shrinking diet which included 3 meals a day,low fat, low calories, and no sodium. It also includes Clear Liquids only for three days before surgery. I will be having surgery this Wednesday July 16 and I've already lost 14 pounds. It's been tough especially this liquid part and I'm starving but I'll hang in there because I've only got 2 more days til I'm banded!!

  5. Hi Maryrose. I just wanted to say that I had a breast reduction 9 yrs. ago when I was 26 and it has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me.The recovery was a little tough the first 2 days but after that it was very manageable. Make sure you have someone there with you in those first few days to make sure you're taken care of but also to make sure you get up and move. It will work out the stiffness in your chest and arms. If I had to do it all over again I would. In a heartbeat. There's nothing like being able to buy a bra in regular sizes and cute ones to! And another nice side effect is that the "twins" will be nice and perky for many years to come. And by the way I went from a 46EE to a sweet 38c.

  6. Hi JustMel, I am having my band surgery on

July, 18 with Dr.Argotte and was wondering if you had the vena cava filter? I haven't seen alot of info about this on this board and I'm just curious about the number of ppl who have it done prior to getting banded. I had my gallbladder removed 2 yrs ago and didn't have it done. I've actually never even heard of it until I started seeing Dr.Argotte. By the way I really like him and I think his staff are great(especially the older crew). The new ones are a little fuzzy about things but I know they're in the learning process. Also, congrats on your successful surgery and recovery!

  7. I'm new to this board but I've been stalking it for a while and I'm stoked to say that after starting this journey in Nov. 2007, I have completed all my tests, have insurance approval, and my date for surgery is July 18! Dr. Argotte in Paducah, Ky is who I'm seeing and I couldn't be happier. Thanx to everyone on here for loads of info and motivation. I will definitely stick around!:smile2:
