    What the heck happened?!

Omg. The three week stall is a myth. A true stall lasts three weeks or MORE. All your body is doing at three weeks is regrouping to the new way of living and making needed adjustments. There is nothing to worry about if you're following plan to the letter. You could literally sit on your arse for 4 months and if you follow plan you will lose. Not saying this is the thing you should do, but that your body has no CHOICE but to give up the excess in The beginning IF YOU FOLLOW YOUR EATING PLAN. You eat tacos and huge hoagies? Well, yeah, you're going to stall. Or gain. But at 3 weeks? Nope. NOT A STALL Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    BM caused terrible nausea!

Ok. I should clarify.... If I haven't had a BM in a while, I usually puke at the same time. Just happens. Always forget to ask why, but I don't really care all that much... It is what it is. And no. I'm not dumping. I don't eat off plan. Ever. Well. Maybe those three whole oyster crackers I had with my 1/3 c of chili tonight...color me a rebel lmao. 7. Why are you worried? If you want to preempt the issue, simply tell the waiter/ess you don't eat a lot, or aren't that hungry and you're just having "X" or that you probably won't eat your whole meal, please bring a to go container with the plate. They want you to be happy with the meal, yes, but really, how much you choose to eat is none of their business. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    BEST protien shake option

This is going to sound REALLY WEIRD BUT.... If you warm up the Isopure - not scalding, just warm, and drag a teabag through it, it tastes REALLY good... FWIW Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Need answers..

I was having a discussion earlier with a friend about oatmeal, etc. I love oatmeal- steel cut. Am I eating them 7 months out? No way! Will I at some point? Doubtful, maybe a small teaspoon to taste it in a year or two. I'm Italian. food is what it's all about for us. Do I miss a good ooey-gooey lasagna? You bet! Will I eat one again? No flipping way. It's a mind set thing. Know that you eat to live. Food is tasty for a reason... We need to eat To survive. But We can choose healthy, life sustaining foods that we can make taste yummy. Just need creativity and determination. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    snacks

3 meals of 3 ounces of food? For the entire weight loss period??? That's intense. As for snacks? Occasionally go for the Sargentos Helathy Breaks- nuts, cheese, cranberries. Or a string cheese. My loss has never derailed and is just about to goal in under a year. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I saw my plastics guy to get a handle on the cost. Originally wanted info on a lift and tummy tuck. Came out dazed and confused over the cost. No way will my husband ok that expenditure. I'd prefer to do all at one time, one anesthesia experience and cost, one recovery period. I'm now trying to figure what I can live with or without. I tabled further contemplation at this time because it was overwhelming. Even though I'm 15 from goal and only 7 months out, he would do my breast lift now if I wanted- literally nothing else to lose above my hips. I just don't like the scarring involved in a lift. It wasn't what I imagined it to be. The tummy? I think I can live with it...really not bad at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Well. I did it. I mean I REALLY DID IT!!! Hot Chocolate 15k here in Chicago today. Had two buddies from HS at my side, as we cajoled and dragged each other to the finish line. An amazing feeling, really was!!! I could see this becoming addictive. There is one in Atlanta in January. Hmmmmm. But seriously. If I can, anyone can!!!

    Exercise after surgery

I'm seven months out and doing a 15 k in the morning. Signed up originally for the 5k but I run 10-12 miles at a time and wanted to push it. Some days I'll do the 12miles in the am and do another 5 later on. Hoping to finish, but just doing it will be enough for now. Had a tummy bug earlier today kind of freaked me out, but now I'm wondering if it wasn't nerves. I have the most amazing person giving me the moral support I need, which helps tons. As for right after surgery? Was walking a ton by 1 week, at the gym by 2 weeks, weights at 4 weeks and have not looked back since. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Time for a New Topic---

Ok- we got through "intro music". So, staying in the music theme for a bit- what was the very first concert you went to that you WANTED to go to? How old were you? Mine- Ozzy Osbourne Crazy Train, circa 1981. I was a freshman in HS It was freakin awesome! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Flabby/Excess Skin

What doesn't can have surgery. Or, you may want to just live with it. I can deal with the arms and legs being kind of saggy, but the tummy will need tucked, and the girls brought back "up" where they were. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I have RA as well, and years of prednisone and the inability to move caused huge weight gain. Research and anecdotal evidence showed RA pts who had bypass showed signs of remission. So, I had it and have been symptom free since March 23!! Good job!!! I'm down from 283 to 160, almost to goal! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
