  1. Keep up the great work and don't beat yourself up. Have you joined te group on Facebook called "BariatricEatingSupport"? They are a no nonsense group that I have found very helpful. They also have a website for Protein Drinks Vitamins and thingsfor Constipation. I have struggled always with constipation and my Dr have me a supplement called super aloe 450 two weeks ago. You take it at night and you will have bowel movement the next day. I have had at least 1 or 2 a day since. I had tried everything previously. On a more personal note for me..I finally received the paperwork from Dr Snow's office so I can schedule an appt..yeah!!!

Just catching up to see if you've been able to go see Dr. Snow yet?

  2. Eating while out of town...

Well, family traveled out of state for our daughter's softball tournament and I ate horrible!!

Restaurants - Buffalo Wild Wings, IHOP, Subway, McDonald's, Small Town Restaurants

    Ate when not hungry

Kept something in my mouth at the games... Candy!

    Didn't have Protein shakes

Sampled foods high in calories and sugar

    Felt bloated

    Had 2 free alcoholic beverages

I worked out 4 days last week, ate bad for 3 and the result is weight gain!!! Time to get back to my routine ugh...

We all hit bumps in the road - you acknowledged your slip so don't beat yourself up (weight gain is punishment enough!) get back to your plan and stay faithful!!!

    You got this :)

  3. Hey surgery sisters and brothers!!! How's it going? Having issues with anything I can help with (seriously ask anything)? I have so many food ideas - working from home has its benefits! I can pretty much eat whatever but I haven't pushed that boundary to far.. I'm still a tuna pouch loving hippie LOL.

This revision has been a trip....I'm down 30 pounds and wow the attention makes my head spin (my wifey has been very complimentary) ... I'm only 5'2" (on a good day) so weight looks different on us short chicks... let's see the latest weird "compliment" was "dang you're stacked" so I'm guessing my boobs are still huge compared to the fact that I finally HAVE A DEFINDED WAIST again. I had to go in the basement and find bras that my 'ladies' aren't just swimming in and can present well (LOL). Going in the basement has become a shopping experience for me the last week or so.

The date of our first date is April 3rd so I like to Celebrate our "dateiversary" and I went to Target looking for a cute dress. I found one and tried it on for my best friend. She said "ummmm K that's too big on you can you get a smaller size?" I was shocked! I went and got a smaller size and its a misses LARGE - I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I REALLY wish I could find a local in person support group but so far no dice :(

  4. I will probably do the burger minus the bun in a few parks. Last time I low carb'd it at Disney I would get a burger that had a toppings bar. I would then just eat the patty with some salad fixins. We are only going to be at Disney one day, so that will work then. I bought a big bag of Jerky that I am going to break up and weigh before we leave. I suspect I will be able to find some fruit if I get in a bind. I need to find me some of those Mr. cheese O's. Those look yummy...

RonJon - where did you find the Mr. cheese O's in your target? I walked around and found $70 of other stuff I probably didn't need but I couldn't find those -- help?

    Thanks so much in advance!

I never found them in Target. Actually, I have never even tried them. I was saying that I needed to...

    Whoops I'm sorry! I misread :(

  5. Does anyone ever drink energy drinks? Such as red bull or spark or monsters? I am about to go through my busy/crazy time at work where I work about 60 ish hours a week. I have not tried anyone of these since my surgery. I am 3.5 months out.

Monster rehab are tea with energy so no carbonation if you need that extra energy kick. They have several flavors too [emoji41]

I haven't joined any support groups yet although I have tried to find a local group with no real results.

I hope your appointment goes well I have a followup on the 29th.

  8. I'm just posting a quick update. In 5 weeks I've dropped 24 pounds weighing in between 176-177. I'm going to a baby shower tomorrow - I'm excited/nervous about if anyone will notice the loss. I can't wait although I am a bit leery of the lunch that will be served so I'm going to pack a Water bottle and a pouch of tuna (poured into a bowl so its not top obvious).

food wise I'm on regular foods and my typical day is high Protein (90+) low carb (-100) low fat (-35) with all the Fiber I can handle. I did have a hot dog on a bun when I got caught unprepared earlier this week and have really beat myself up a about that even though I chewed thoroughly and didn't have any digestive issue.

My only complaint is Constipation (gross) hence trying to get in lots of Fiber.

Thats all for now time for bed :)

  9. I'd be interested in trying PB2, but only know that it's used as a flavor additive, e.g., maybe a spoon or two mixed into other ingredients. But what about as Peanut Butter? Can it be mixed with little enough Water so that it's spreadable like real peanut butter? If so, is the taste reasonably like the real thing? I imagine it would be a dismal disappointment, but I could be wrong. How about mixing it with a small amount of Torani SF chocolate 'syrup?' Or another Syrup flavor that's compatible with peanut taste?

When i want something closer to real PB i mix half water half olive oil to make it more like the real thing.

  10. 2/9 Team, I can't drink the Protein Shakes anymore. I gag when I try and get really sick. Called my doctor and the nurse asked me to lay off and have the following daily:

    2 teaspoons of Peanut Butter

    Grilled Salmon

Quest Protein bar AM and PM

All the Water I can get down with Miralax to keep everything flowing. I'll let you know how I feel after a few days on this.

    Thinking of those drinks...

I'm getting all my Protein from regular food now for the most part but my plumbing hasn't been as traumatized as everyone else. I do treat myself to the protein ice cream at night if I haven't gotten 80g but I haven't "indulged" so to speak in two days.

Have you tried Isopure zero? It comes in a bunch of flavors and is clear so not as challenging yo choke down. A 20oz bottle has 40g protein.

I hope you feel better fast fast fast!!

    (Hugggggggggs)

  11. Your post is such a godsend!! I have been researching revisions from Open rny due to having same issues as you and I was getting very depressed. I live in poplar bluff and was even researching going to Mexico but was getting shot down by then due to having open rny. I plan to reach out to Dr Snow' office tomorrow to start my journey.

Please keep in touch and let me know how things go. I'm barely 1 month post-op revision and I'm down 19.2 pounds and am eating normally - normally for post-op WLS anyways... Feel free to message me :)

  12. Congrats on your weight loss Positive and losinglily [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322] I'm glad that everyone is losing and doing well. Have either of you set a goal weight or are you just winging it?

I'd be happy in a size 10-12. I just want to be healthy not necessarily skinny so that's all I'm shooting for as of now :)

Hey guys! I can't believe it's been a month already! I weighed in today and I am 26 pounds down! I can't believe it! I'm 5'5, and my preop weight was 244.5 and today I'm 216.6. I was not expecting such a loss, so I'm thrilled. Starting a regular diet today, so that's a plus, too. [emoji1]

    That's awesome!!!!

  13. Hey there...whether it be pre op, post op healing or just making Protein requirements...there's a pattern of growing to hate Protein shakes i keep reading about and am planning for....

Wondering if they are freezable and if anyone has tried doing that and eating them like Italian ice?

    thx

I make Protein ice cream about twice a week. It's my favorite evening treat :) i put whatever protein shake i like at the time in the blender on high till it doubles, turn on the ice cream maker then slowly pour the shake mix in - i have protein ice cream in about 16 minutes for soft serve. I put it in the freezer for an hour or so for scoopable.
