  1. Awesome for you KimK813!!!! I am hoping to be where you are on 4/13. I had a complete unfill because of problems with my esphogus, then had a 4cc fill and nothing no restriction whatsoever. Going back to the Dr shamefully with my head down and tail between my legs admitting defeat!!! I thought I could do it but messed up. Trying to loose the 50 I gained!
  2. Ok oh I will look into that. Thanks. Congrats on getting banded in 13 days. It is the most amazing thing I have ever done and would do it in a heartbeat again. Just listen to your Dr and do what he says and you will be a success story too!!! Good Luck on your journey and NEW LIFE!!!!!!
  3. Are they rubber? Where did you find them? It sounds like a great idea. Thanks
  4. I am almost at the Drs goal weight, 8 more pounds :smile2:!!! I need to get my wedding rings resized. They are at least a size bigger than what they should be. The problem? I don't want to. They remind me of how far I have come when they slide up and down on my finger and fall off when I take laundry out of the washer and dryer. I have grown accustom to always bending my finger so I don't lose them!!! I know I will get them done eventually (it takes 10 days and I also don't want to be without them that long) but has anybody else experienced this?
  5. Hey Julie, I am also in Concord NC. I am starting over myself somewhat. I have lost but for the last 2 months nothing and my gym membership at the Y has gone to waste. I am glad to see you are not giving up. Today is a new day!!!! What Dr do you see? Dr Pirello (mine) just moved to Matthews but I am following him. Will be getting a fill in Feb. I am asking because they have a nutrition program that is awesome.
  6. Absolutley happier. I can move without pain. I can wear whatever I want. I can keep up with my dogs and just about any child. I am almost off all my meds. I eat everything just in small portions. I don't rely on shakes or bars (although I do love some protein bars!!). Occasionally I feel like I am going to throw up but that is only when I eat to fast or I am finding that if I am mad or upset I must eat slower. I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. For the first time in my life FOREVER thin AND healthy will happen. That is worth everything to me
  7. Please update me. I have been trying for 3 months to get my weights in. It just won't work. My October weight for 6 months out is 174. Total lost is 66 Lbs. Thank you so much, Vikki
  8. Hollie519, I don't think its a bad thing to have your husband say that he likes you better slim. If I asked that question to my husband he might say that also, but not because of what you are thinking. He will tell you that when I am happy with how I look I have confidence. I stand up for myself and I am not afraid to try new things. I am more outgoing and not so shy. Besides I think most of us would say honestly that they like themselves better when they are slim, not necessarily because we look better but because we feel better. Sassymama, I understand also. My husband has never come out and said that he is afraid I will cheat on him but he is a little more shall we say protective when another guy looks at me. I just always tell him I love him. He is struggling with his weight and hopes to get lapband soon. Good Luck, Vikki
  9. PURE ROMANCE. I had 1. They are so much fun. Vikki
  10. isign31, I read your post also and what Kimmie K said and I bought it right away on the same day too!!! I just got mine today and I can't wait to take my shower tomorrow and use it. I will let you know how it works for me. Vikki
  11. I thought maybe the dry hay like feeling hair was just me, but I guess its not. I am not really losing much hair but all of a sudden my naturally curly hair has become frizzy and has lost some curl. I was banded 4/21/08. I am going to check out that Wen stuff because I have been trying everything and nothing is helping. Thanks Kimmie K and Puju10 for the advice. Vikki
  12. I can't believe I am asking this but I stared getting my period 1 month after surgery and was so happy, now not so. I am getting it like clockwork every 17 days!!! It lasts aroung 5 to 7 days so you can imagine I am not a happy camper. I go to the Dr next week to discuss this but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone. I went through tons of fertility procedures IUI, IVF alternative medicine everything but nothing worked. I have come to terms with it and if it happens it happens (we are thinking about adoption but not for several years).
  13. I have finally reached ONERDERLAND too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was banded exactly 2 months ago and feel fantastic. I can't believe I am here. I owe so much to everyone on this site. I don't think I could have been so successful without everyones help. Everyone is truly amazing. What a feeling it is to know that I WILL never be in the 2's again!!!!! Vikki
  14. I didn't have a pre surgery diet either except that I should make sure not to gain any weight and the day before eat light. My Dr said it was because he doesn't want people to get sick of protein shakes at aa time when they really need to drink them which is after surgery. As far as expecting something in the hospital I don't remember a thing and recovery wasn't that bad. I had some complications but nothing too serious that would make me not want to do this all over again. Good Luck, Don't Worry. It will be the best thing you ever do for yourself and your family. It was for me
  15. Well I had my surgery on April 21. My Dr was and is great. I am having a little harder time than most. Today was the first day that I could stand or sit up or walk with out pain for more than 5 minutes!!! The Dr puts a stitch in the abdominal wall and he siad there are nerves all over and he feels that he stitched 1 of those small nerves. He gave me the option of opening up the inscision and removing the stitch or waiting it out. I decided to wait it out with the help of a nerve blocker. Today has been the best day yet and I am now excited about it. Its the 10th day and I have lost about 8 pounds!!! I was a great descision to do this and even though I had troubles I would do it again. Vikki
