  1. Who's still in the hosptial struggling to get fluids down?
  2. UPDATE: still at hospital, going to have to stay a 2nd night since I cant barely anything. Otherwise, stomach pain is a little more manageable. Already lost 6 ibs since being here yesterday.
  3. Wow Ashleyt26 that is great progress! You Are So Lucky. My recovery is just OK. I have found my one saving grace tonight tho. Doing laps around the surgery unit. Helps with the gas build so much
  4. Hey everybody. Surgery went well. My stomach is in an immense amount of pain however. No amount of pain killers will help. Hopefully this will be better tomorrow and it's just gas built up. Good news tho I never want to eat again in my life haha (jk) my appetite is just completely obliterated. I will keep you all posted.
  5. At the hospital waiting to get ready for surgery. Very nervous now, some of my family is emotional is this normal?
  6. I'll be at the hospital at 7am. Not really nervous. Just hungry, the clear liquid diet is horrible. But I've lost 3 pounds in one day so that's a plus.
  7. Haven't had surgery yet so shouldn't hurt haha
  8. Can I add hot sauce or pepper to broth?
  9. Me! Just started day 1 of clear liquids
  10. UPDATE: talked with my doctor. Depo provera is fine to take when you have your surgery since it's progesterone. Oral contraception causes blood clots
  11. Did anyone have to stop their birth control shot before they got the VSG? I heard it was just oral contraception. I have surgery on Monday
  12. I'm pretty nervous. I've had this stubborn cold that won't go away! I got my blood drawn yesterday and waiting to hear back about my white blood cell count. I'm just scared they will have to reschedule my surgery. Anybody been in the same boat I'm in right now? The hard part is I can't even take advil, or vitamins. Tyenol barely works
  13. There were so many signs I ignored for so long that should of been "the straw that broke the camels back" but I was so bent on not listening that I let myself get so bad. However recently, I've tried to "see" more. Couple of things happened. I broke my coach a couple months ago just sittimg down. Booths at resturants are very uncomfortable. Love making is harder. Personal hygiene is harder. Those tiny wicker chairs? Ya like I will try and ever sit on those. Worrying when I go to a party if I will get enough food to it. Getting seconds when literally nobody else did at thanksgiving. Getting drunk is really expensive. Having children ask me if I have a baby in my tummy (got used to this one). Being left out of plans because my loved ones think I wouldn't be able to do it.
  14. Great information. Thank you FrankiesGirl you seem very knowledgeable on these subjects. I'm hoping for my skin to naturally rebound too but just in case, I like to know my other options
  15. Hey quick question. Have any of you been approved by your health insurance for skin Removal surgery? What insurance did you have?
  16. UPDATE. Thanks everyone for the advice I needed that kick in the pants. I have officially lost my first 10 pounds. And have stopped cheating. This is my life, and I realized if I kept eating the junk I would end up having a heart attack by 30. Here's to losing another 140 pounds!
  17. I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't stop cheating. I do so well in the day time but then around 9 o'clock bam! I'm going to taco bell, sandwich shops and etc. I feel like im losing control. I have my surgery on 2/29 and I'm deathly afraid I will have gained weight and my surgery will be canceled. Please help, I keep resorting back to my old ways.
  18. Hey everybody. I have my surgery pretty soon (2/29) and want to lose at least 10 pounds before it. So I'm on a diet regimen. So far I've been eating about 1200 calories a day. I'm thinking it's too much. I try and eat 1 protein shake a day and get about 65g in a day. Should I cut back the calories to less than 800 a day??
  19. Hello, one of my biggest concerns after surgery is loose skin on my face. I carry alot of my weight in my face so I know I will have sagging. However, I am 24 and skin bounces back easier. I am still concerned. Any tips for to prevent this???
  20. Now it's just the waiting game. I would love some helpful tips on how to get by this month. I'm afraid I will continue to gain weight before the surgery happens. What diet should I start to get me on track for the surgery? I am so excited, but I am so ready I could do it tomorrow.
  21. Sorry I have some serious typos and confusing sentences in here.
  22. Hello! So far my doctor just sent in the package to my insurance company to wait to see if its approved or not. However intill then I was wondering if anyone has used BCBSRI before? What problems/sucess have you hade??I am living in denver, and so far they give no requirements for authorization besides a PCP. No classes, 6 months of dieiting or anything. this seems too good to be true. If it is true my tentative surgery date is for the 29th of February.
