spammie2002 got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in 4 weeks out, stalled
The scale finally moved! Yes, I have been tracking on my fitness pal. Getting 600 calories a day. I got on this weekend and i had lost 3lbs. Yaay! I guess my body just needed to catch up. Thanks for the advice!

Three and a half weeks for me and lasted about 2-1/2 weeks. I wasn't worried, because I knew it was a good possibility, with all the reading I was doing here. It doesn't mean it is not frustrating. scale is moving again!

Hang in there. For some people it can last a little while. Just keep doing what you need to do. I promise you the scale will move again if you stick to the program.

I had vsg surgery on Feb 29th in Tijuana, Mexico. Everything was fine. I lost 15 lbs on my 2 week pre op diet, then 7 the first week. Then 3, and now the scale hasn't been moving. For 2 weeks now. Im eating very few carbs, trying to get all my Water, but only getting about half. I'm getting all the recommended Protein, (60-80 g daily). Haven't been able to exercise much. Only walking on weekends. Anyone else have a stall this early on? How did you break it?
I'm very discouraged. I'm eating healthy (solids now), but I'm just not seeing the results I was hoping for.

Welcome to the "Dreaded Week 3 Stall". 90% of WLS patients experience a stall around the 3rd week post-op. It's just your body taking a minute to figure out what the heck is going on. Stick to your plan. Get your Water. Get your Protein. Take your Vitamins. Move around as much as possible. The scale will start moving again,

I've been in a stall for the past two months. Realizing I wasn't doing 100% what I should've I can understand why it haven't moved much of any in a way but seems like it would've moved more. I have started exercising I'm on my 3rd wk 4-5 days out the wk. I've been told to get out the stall to go back to basics[emoji16]haven't done that trying to focus on eating nothing but listed foods, getting in all my water[emoji30]and getting in all my Protein along with exercise and see if the scale moves...good luck it can be aggravating and questionable when you're not getting results or results you feel like you should but remain focused and make changes where necessary

Sure! I started my 2 wk pre op diet at 290. Day of surgery 275. Today (6 days post op) I was 269. They send you with Mexican versions of Antibiotics and NSAIDs. (Cephalexin and Ketorolac). You also get a mexican version of antacid, a chalky liquid. They give you some gauze and tape and antibacterial spray for your incisions. I have 4. 3 small ones and one is prob 2-3".You get copies of your pre op stuff, (ecg and labs). You don't get a copy of your xray from your leak test. Atalia, the on site coordinator, has a packet of info at the desk at the hotel when you check in. Usually they send you via Marriott shuttle the next morning for surgery.

@@spammie2002 I'm doing well! I was really groggy the day of the surgery due to the effects of the anesthetic, but after that it's been mostly smooth sailing. I didn't have any gas pain and just a little bit of soreness at the incision site (I had SILS).
The hospital is pretty nice but it is small. You'll get to know the people who have surgery on the same day as you because there's really just the one hallway to walk in.
    Good luck!

Hi - I had surgery with Dr. Garcia in January. I was nervous because I couldn't find a lot of recent feedback on him, but I had a great experience. I'd definitely recommend him.
