  1. Good suggestions. I have a small 2.5 year old (23lbs) that wants to be held a lot but shes really into boo boo stuff ao hopefully that angle works. I just paid my deposit for surgery in TJ next week Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  2. Im going to Tijuana next week. Got denied by insurance for 5th time to do it locally. Just paid my deposit today. Finally here, been at it since december. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  3. Following. I asked a similar question a couple months ago but not much response. I too have a 2yr old and should be getting surgery late this month Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  4. I chose Garcia after loads of research. Its a pretty fast process once its started. Im going to book next week and pay the deposit. They said they can get me in 2 to 3 weeks after Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  5. I am in the process of booking with Dr Garcia. I have no interest in SI but see that he offers it Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  6. I live in Henderson. Have been working with Dr Teng since December but just got denied fir the 3rd time. Now prepping to have surgery with Dr Garcia in Tijuana next month Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  7. Thanks, she actually answered me today that its within a couple weeks. Im waiting for my last appeal to come back then booking. Hoping for second week of october Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  8. I went by a mix of all things you mentioned. My favorite is the stuff the first commenter posted from walmart in the chocolate version. I also get the Cappuccino flavour from bariatric pal although its a bit too sweet. Also an excellent protien drink that no one talks about on this site although its what my surgeon requires pre and post op is isopure. Its clear protien that you can get at GNC. They are expensive but lot of Protein Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  9. No experience yet to share. Just submitted my medical info to them a couple days ago. I was debating between him and Illan and ultimately chose him because I found good reviews on several sites. Seems Illan is only talked about on this site. Ive yet to find anything bad. Shooting for 2nd week of october Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  10. Im wondering how much that surgery costs approximately? Did you get it in US or MX? Just trying to figure what this is going to end up costing in long run after tucks n lifts Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  11. A Dr here in las vegas does it for 10,500. Atkinsons. Im opting for Tijuana next month, actually feels safer to me and less than half the cost Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  12. So, I'm in planning to get surgery with Dr Garcia in October. Havent paid deposit yet because Im still waiting for response to my final appeal with insurance here. I know Ive seen discussion here about skyping with Drs but can't remember if it was only preop or if its post op too. Is there any kind of support post op? Like monthly meetings or NUT advise, anything? The Dr I was supposed to use locally gas monthly support meetings but I doubt they will let me join if I end up in TJ Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  13. I have sooo many...running around with my 2 yr old, shopping in the regular womans section (itll be expensive for me as I only own a few 18, the rest is 20 or 22. I havent been less than that in 20yrs), not being afraid of breaking things I sit on, painting my toes, going hiking without hyperventilating, going on amusement park rides, not being embarrassed all the time by how I look and how much I can eat, my knees and ankles hurting less, energy, I think I could go on forever Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  14. I will be alone. All I have on this side of the country is my husband and he has to stay home with my 2 year old. The 2 yr old is going to be difficult when I get home too but thats another story. Thanks for your input, guess I'll be flying Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  15. So, I live in Vegas, about a 4 hr drive to San Diego. I am making plans to get surgery in Tijuana and am contemplating whether to drive or fly. Do you think you would have been able to do a 4 hr drive 4 days post op? Only reason I dont want to fly is that spirit airlines is the only company that flies direct and I hate them. They chaege rediculous fees for bags and their planes are crappy and uncomfortable Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  16. I dont think moving would be worth it at all. These insurance companies really dont want to approve people. My state requires it, I meet all the criteria, yet Ive been denied several times. Imagine if you moved, went through a bunch of BS and still got denied. Tons of people turn to Mexico after their insurance denies them or simply because the deductible through insurance will be the same as going to mexico. Im in the process of booking with Dr Garcia now after extensive research. Could keep going round and round with insurance begging for them to pay but Ive been doing that for 9 months now. I wish I went to mexico in december when I started this journey, id be down 80 to 100 lbs by now. Ive only found 1 "horror story" and that was a death. If you read the fine print from your surgeon, it says that happens in every 200 to 500 people. Just saying, you may want to research a bit. I think Im into the thousands now on success stories ive read Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  17. I just started working with them, waiting for Dr Garcia to approve me and waiting for a response to my final try at getting it locally through my insurance. Been denied twice already. Ive asked the coordinator twice but she skated around my question...how far out are they booking? As in when was first available suegery date that you could have? A couple weeks? A couple months? Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  18. Im in Henderson, been waiting for a date for 9 months lol. Been fighting with insurance and been denied 3 times since May. In the midst of planning for Tijuana as we speak Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  19. The denied me do to no disabling condintion, which is like a serious comorbidity. The require that regardless of bmi. I have been put on meds for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and am pre diabetic but thats not enough fir them. Got denied, did a peer to peer, resubmitted, denied again and dr just did 2nd peer to peer yesterday. Medicaid is very strict. You should be ok if you have diabetes and a high bmi Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  20. I just got denied by insurance for the second time so starting my Mexico plans. Thinking mid october. How far out do you have to book? My dr is doing a peer to peer so want to see how that goes before putting a deposit down. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  21. I just got denied for a second time. Planning my Mexico trip now but no, I lost 30 then gained 8 back. So down 22 from start. Medicaid makes it very difficult to get approved Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  22. As others stated, it depends on insurance. I just got denied for the 2nd time even though I have a BMI of 46, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre diabetic and family histoty of every problem possible. But I have Amerigroup, who wants you to have what they consisder a disabling condition. The diet isnt necessarily a diet, its meeting withthe surgeon and a nutricianist regularly. I thought it was stupid at first too but I dont think anyone should get surgery without doing that now. It helps you prepare for life after surgery and understand what should and shouldnt be going in your body. I was very well educated in nutrician before this and still learned some stuff. Things I see people post on here that they are doing/trying to eat are crazy and show me that those individuals didnt see a nutricianist or didnt listen to anything. All insurance compnies will make you go through a lot of testing and such prior. It costs them anout 60,000 for your surgery so they want to make sure you are going to do the work required Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  23. Im still fighting for it. Originally submitted first week of may. Denied due to no severe comorbidities. Dr has put me on meds for blood pressure and cholesterol now so hoping they approve now. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  24. Las Vegas Gastric Sleevers Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
