  1. Glad everyone did okay with surgery. It was suggested to wear a girdle or spanks to hold my tummy tight, which will help with the incisions. I added the flavorless Protein to chicken broth to keep that up. Unable to drink Protein shakes for some reason. Still discomfort, but no pain!!!
  2. Praying our surgeons are alert and confident as they perform our surgeries. May God guide them all the way. Our recovery time will be light. I ask all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
  3. Received the call and I'm schedule for surgery tomorrow at 9:30am. Going to buy a loose dress to wear to and from surgery so that nothing will touch my stomach and the incisions. Taking pics tonight so I will never forget. New life and new body starting tomorrow!!!
  4. Vitamins and liquids today. Patch behind my ear tonight. Prayers throughout the day for an early and safe procedure and painless, fast recovery!!! That's my prayer Amen.
  5. Happy Sunday 2/9 Sleevers!!!! Starting to have a tad bit of anxiety with only 2 days before surgery. Anyone else??
  6. 2/9 getting close!!
  7. During consult, several required tests and so fourth before surgery. After they told me ins would not pay, I elected self-pay. Magically, required scope down my throat test gone! sleep test gone! Wait time gone! Seems like anything I wanted was not possible on my own terms including date of surgery!! I decided to charge the surgery to get Discover Miles points! Then will pay it off in 5 days with another credit card promotion to get zero interest for 18 months. Honestly I didn't want to pay myself, but I can't force an insurance company to pay. Doing it myself for myself and plan to make the best of it!!!
  8. The nurse is taking my blood for pre-op and says, "You look great! No way you should be having weight loss surgery!" Geezs...
  9. Love this thread and I'm so glad I read it this morning. I cannot tell you how many hiring committees I've been on where someone was hired because they were thin. AMAZING how some people feel if a person is thin they take care for themselves better and will do a better job than someone who is overweight. So happy for you and can't wait to post something similar after my surgery on 2/9. Thanks for sharing!!
  10. I lost 10.4 pounds on the pre-op diet and became stressed at work this week and started eating again. Back up 5 pounds of the 10.4. Same 'ole patterns for me. Just ready to get this part of my life behind me. Yoyo diets, starving myself and all of that. I'm just exhausted from it. I've lost so must of my life not happy with my body, excess fat, inability to wear my clothes.... Ugh! Guess it's one of those nights.
  11. Glad I'm not the only one keeping my work out of my personal life. Thank you for sharing!
  12. Yes, I have not had a soda in almost 3 weeks. I think that's our bodies trying to adjust.
  13. The pics really helped trying to visualize along with the detailed descriptions. Thanks so much everyone!
  14. I didn't tell anyone at work... Planning on calling in each day as needed. Gosh, I pray I'm able to walk around without pain after the first few days.
  15. Thanks everyone for the insight. So I'm guessing wear nothing tight around the belly area for a few weeks correct?
  16. Good Morning 2/9 Sleevers! This is our last Friday in the same body!!!! I have no clue what to do this weekend. What about you?
  17. My doctor of course said everyone is different, but I should be off from work maybe 3 or 4 days. Anyone experience an easy recovery??
  18. Can anyone share any information about the scars after surgery?
  19. . Thank you! All over now. Blood work done, surgery on Tuesday!!!
  20. I'm happy that you are happy about the possibility of the surgery becoming a new start for you! I'm less than a week away from surgery and I can share what I know. 1. Cut out all carbonated drinks now. I've learned a lot about how soda expands the liver. 2. Cut out foods that swell in your stomach such as Pasta, breads, and whatever else research tell us. 3. Start taking a good Multivitamin daily. 4. Drink plenty of Water the day before blood work appointment. Hope this helps!!
  21. Pre-op blood work did not go well. Went in at 9am and the nurse could not get any blood. She tried both arms and still nothing. She said I may be dehydrated. They sent me to a lab tech for a second try in my hand and wrist still nothing. Needless to say both arms are sore and I'm drinking Water like crazy to try again tomorrow. The good part is they have my urine sample and heart monitor results. Tip: Drink plenty of water before blood work. Will report back tomorrow.
  22. Nurses unable to get blood today. Nurse said I may be dehydrated. I'll drink a lot of water tonight and try again tomorrow.
  23. Going in for pre-op blood work this morning!!
