I agree. All in time right?? Right!! Thanks! I am going to order from kids menu when im ready to venture to restaurants. Went to movies for first time since surgery. Nothing to snack on.. but then realized i could have a hot herbal tea and that brought comfort. I'm starting to realize that the choices I made before werent the best, but this is now my opportunity to live the best life ever. iamsafe69 surgery 2/8/2016 Good idea to order from the kids menu. Thanks!

Iamsafe69 yes for both. Thanks for the ideas. Tomorrow I will walk, but no way I will be able to truly eat with my team like I have in the past. I think it all just hit me that I will never finish a burger again or eat all of anything from a restaurant. It's real and I see that now. Still no regrets!

Eating lunch At Work... So I never told anyone I had surgery at work, which I'm still happy about. My secretary goes to get lunch. I begin to sip my Soup and of course that lasted for 30 seconds and lunch was over for me. I tried to compensate by nibbling, but of course I was way too full. I took breaks, sipped Water and all that and nothing worked to eat more food. One of my co-workers noticed and said, "I'm so proud of u for pushing the plate back." She saved the day!!! Focus totally off of me and my day is back on tract. I must figure out something to do during lunch rather than eat. That is going NOWHERE fast. Any suggestions???

Good Sunday Morning! Feeling good this morning except for the in and out discomfort if my large incision side (left). I called the nurse and was reminded if my side is hurting the first thing to consider is gas and to think if I've had a poop lately. She also suggested hot tea to get things moving in my system. To think of it I have not pooped in several days... I'm now taking miraLAX and hot tea to help with both. I'm also spooked by the thought of sagging skin. I spoke with the nurse about that too and she reminded me of weight lifting versus cardio. She said fast weight loss will result in sagging skin as the skin does not have time to adjust. Weight lifting will help. She said light weights 4 reps of 12 for arms, legs, back. No abs, planks, or push ups as it uses the core too much. All the info helped me today. Hope it helps others who need it too! Wishing everyone much success as we get closer to week 4. Weight check in on Tuesday Morning for us!!!

SuzzyQ_delli Welcome! I'm sure one of my 2/9 teammates will try to offer suggestions. They are wonderful giving advice and sharing information. I'm not getting all of anything down really. I do everything I can to drink 16oz of Water and 16oz of Protein Shakes daily and I almost always make that, but anything more becomes a challenge.

I'm still only walking. I have some 5lb dumbbells I've incorporated into the walks but I haven't gotten cleared for "real" exercise yet. My surgeon says resistance bands are OK also. I get clearance on March 10th so I'm patiently waiting. Also I went back to more of a purée diet adding fish into the mix. I can't seem to get in my Protein and I know I have to but it's just so difficult. Has anyone tried protein shits? They are maybe 3 or 4 oz and have 28 or so grams of protein. Good Morning Everyone! Feeling 85% back to my normal self, which is great. I've decided to start working out & see if I can build muscle. My doctor really made an impression on me with his recommendations to avoid sagging skin. I'll let everyone know how I feel after a good workout. Anyone else going to the gym yet?

Try this kind Isopure! It dissolves in everything no thickening and I can not taste it at all! Has been a lifesaver! I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe but others have said GNC has it also. Honestly I'm never hungry, I just drink because I know I should and I'm trying to create some consistency. I need to be like you and figure out how to tell if I am full. Mourning food huh? You are not alone. Today I ate a couple of potato chips KNOWING I was not hungry and should not eat it. Oh well, I chewed and chewed and it made my stomach bloat up like it was pumped with air!!! I'm not in pain, but I'm really bloated. Afterwards I started drinking Water only because of the guilt for cheating. I beat myself up today and will start over fresh tomorrow. This process is more that just having the surgery. We have to change our thinking about food. Even taking about it here online is excellent support and therapy. Together we will get through this with success!!! Whatever you want to eat, just taste a tiny bit. Your body will let you know if it still likes it or not:). Stay positive!!

Praying you begin to feel better soon! I don't have that problem, but have you tried planning your meals? I'm wondering if you plan to eat something at a specific time and stick to it if that would not help. Good luck!!

MxKitty, It's Time, ElChrisPLindo Hi Guy's and thank you so much for checking on me. I really appreciate it!! I called my doctor and I am now wearing a surgical binder kinda like a belt around my waist. The area needs more support and that's why I'm experiencing the pain. Going to pick one up today from the hospital. The reflux is coming from a new tortilla soup I tired. I guess the spices and my tummy did not agree. So far today I had 20g of Protein and 4oz of Water. Gonna try to get 50g of protein and 16oz of water today. No soup and all of the other liquids will do the trick. Oh, yeah Vitamins too. Thanks again 2/9 Team!! You guys rock and I'll let you know how the surgical binder looks. I'll take a pic:)

Hi Everyone, This weekend I've had a lot of pain on the left side of my stomach, and a bit of acid reflux as well. Not sure why this is happening right before two weeks post surgery, but it's here! As a result, I have not been successfully getting Water or Protein down at all. What should I do??

Hi It's Time! Thanks for asking. Appointment went well and I'm glad I went. I am to massage the scars daily until they scab over and clear up. No scar cream needed. I was also told my body was in starvation mode with only getting in less than 500 calories a day. My new goal is 700 to 800 calories per day and to create eating patterns. Must have Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Protein shake period. That will regulate my metabolism and the weight will just fall off when my body recognizes the routine. Also, take the Vitamins to keep skin healthy and life weights to firm skin starting in two weeks. Options for skin: life weights to form or get it cut off. I elect weight lifting Geezs!! Overall, very pleased with follow up. 13.5 down since surgery.

Going to the doctor tomorrow to find out why my scars are still tender and not fading as all should. I have two that are great and two that are still tender, red, and a little puffy. I will let y'all know how it goes. Walked 7000 steps at work today so I'm starting to feel really good. Still eating less than 500 calories each day. shakes are about 180 and I try to get two down each day. Not hungry at all. Even when I eat it's because I'm bored, upset, or it's the time of day (breakfast, lunch, or dinner time). This experience has helped me learn more about why I eat, which is truly eye opening! How is everyone doing??

So now you have me curious as to what happened at your 1 week check up? Please let us know if you feel comfortable. We are on day 8 post surgery and I've only lost 12 pounds. scale has not moved in last 3 days, which means I really must move more and get more steps in. So I have a new plan today: * Take all Vitamins * Drink 3 16oz bottles of Water * Walk 10,000 steps today If I do that with only eating less than 300 calories, the scale should move this week. That's the plan???? How is everyone else doing? Oh no I don't mind sharing - it wasn't anything that I'm doing wrong. My surgeon wasn't there, which was unexpected. I met with a surgeon that I have never seen after sitting in the waiting room an hour beyond my appointment. It just wasn't what I expected and I felt like his responses were general because he didn't perform the surgery. He didn't even know I had a hernia repair, really. He said I was doing well blah blah blah but I expected more ???? You are doing well on your weight loss, some people don't even lose 12 pounds so don't beat yourself up. Are you on full liquids this week? I am and have added creamy tomatoe soup to my diet, so my calories are slightly higher. Definitely listen to your body and don't over do it with the walking, I know we want the weight off but we didn't gain it in a day ???? Thank you for bringing me back to reality. I really appreciate it. Took years to get me here and it will take time to get the weight off the right way and keep it off. Yes, still broth, Protein Shakes, water, and sugar free popsicles. Forgot 1/2 of my vitamins at work ugh... Oh well. Will try this again tomorrow???? Oh no! I wonder if you pulled something? What did your doctor say?
