  2. I haven't tried this, but a friend brings the Crystal Lite to go packs in her purse and orders vodka & Water and mixes in her packet. She is hooked on it.

I do this a lot at home.....there is a pomegranite flavor that is really good mixed with vodka....

I'll just order a jack rocks when out.....takes me a while to finish it....

Like others said, you will find your tolerance for alcohol has likely changed. Test drive it at home, you don't want to be out and find out three drinks is one too many.

I've cut my drinking in at least half since I was banded....just not worth the empty calories....AND I WANT TO GET TO GOAL!

  3. I'm not buying ANY Halloween candy....we're going over to a friend's house for chili and game night, so won't be home for trick or treaters....Caitlin is old enough to drive herself to the store if she wants candy....so it's just best it's not here!

I've managed at work so far with just one fun sized packet of Skittles....they weren't even that good, so I think I'll make it the rest of the week!

  4. All I can say is that I had a VERY similar incident yesterday.....we were at the grocery store and they just opened a section in the bakery with artisan bread....YUMMO. The baker was adorable and just kept cutting little pieces of bread off of the different loaves for us to try. I kept thinking that it was going down ok, so Just kept taking bites.......

THEN....went home and had dinner....EVERYTHING immediately stuck. It was my worst episode EVER....I shall spare you the details, but suffice to say I looked like a rabid dog......

Lesson learned.....bread doesn't work......and yes, I have heard that a million times before, but guess I had to figure it out on my own!

  5. My doc says no carbonation.....ever. I'm sticking with that. I do miss my Diet Coke, but I'll survive.....better for me anyway. I've heard several different reasons why, but "because I said so" is good enough for me.....paid a lot of money for this, so I'll just follow what the doc tells me................most of the time.

  7. Good new and bad news I went for a bike ride yesterday. First time in I'd say 30 years. I bought a bike on the clearence rack at wal mart last week. I was able to ride for 2.5 miles and I thought I was doing pretty good. Well then it was time to stop, so I hit the brakes a little too hard and fast put my foot down to catch myself and my legs turned into rubber and me and the bike was laying along the side of the road, was a back road so my hubby is the only one that saw. So I sat there for a minute laughing at myself still not knowing why I fell off and when I went to get up my legs were still rubber and I had a really hard time walking for a while.

Laughing WITH you, not at you!

BUT YOU DID IT.......it will get easier each time and the mishap will be a distant (funny) memory!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Back from my weekend in Vegas....full of misbehavior....not the food kind though! We seriously ate three times the whole weekend! I've never danced so much in my life! It was glorious! I actually came home and had lost four pounds!

I did great on Friday, but somehow on Saturday...the shots of Patron kept calling my name....I did stifle it though and woke up Sunday without a hangover, just dog-ass tired!

Here are a few pictures, if you're interested.....

(oh, if you've never been to a Jimmy Buffett concert....it is an alternate universe)

  9. For the record, I've told everyone....friends, family, co-workers...and they have been nothing but supportive. It can work out to be a positive thing, I have a GREAT support system.....and that really helps me in times I am struggling a little....just a gentle "but look how far you've come, don't get discouraged" means everything to me!

Everyone has to choose their own path, but this one is sure working for me!

  10. I got these recipes in an email from unjury the other day, Christine.....haven't tried them yet, but they sound good!

  11. Harley..thanks for the delicious sounding fall drink recipe. I have been searching for a warm Protein rich drink to have in the AM. I think this might hit the spot. I will give it a try soon.

    Christine

Been messing with this and found that it's much better with

1 1/2T. General food International vanilla Cafe power

    2 T pumpkin

    1/4 t. pumpkin pie spice

    1 1/2 c hot Water

    1 scoop unflavored unjury.....

I swirl it in my magic bullet so it's foamy....

    Creamier and much more 'starbuck-ish"

  12. I ahve never worn mineral make up but have been curious about it and hated to spend $15 or more just to try it and possibly not like it. I went to the Everyday Mineral site and it looks great! They have a free sample kit that only costs $3.13 for standard USPS shipping. I can't wait to try it. Thanks Harley!!

    You're most welcome!

I am a make up ADDICT.....I love make up....

    Hope you like it!

  13. Whew!!! I avoided another donut tale, DH brought some more home... I am beginning to see a pattern!!!!

Harley - I ordered free samples from Everyday Minerals and am using it today for the first time... I think I like it. I work 12 hour shifts, does it last the day for you? I am not a "primper" I get ready in the am and that's it. Don't have time for touch ups.

It's the ONLY makeup I've every used that I don't feel like I have to "touch up".....one of my co-workers even asked the other day how I get my makeup to last all day! I LOVE it!

  16. It is state fair time here. I am looking forward to going this year. I think I will be able to walk around and keep up with everyone instead having to stop and rest a lot. The hard part will be walking by all the food stands, especially the corn dogs.

You might find that after six months of "clean living" your tastes have changed. Sometimes even the smell of the greasy food like that turns my stomach.......YEAH!!
