    I've thought about you and wondered how you were doing! I'm delighted to hear about the smoking cessation....now, let's get back on track!

    Making a doctor's appointment is a great start....get in to the shrink, the nutritionist, the hypnotist, WHOEVER it takes....you've come so far and just have to make it the rest of the way WITH ALL OF US!

    No man (or woman) left behind!


  3. I really like the Wii Fit, but have not done it for awhile. It will probably call me a couch potato when I get back on.

    The Wii Fit can be a bit snippy......I hate when it calls me OBESE...OKAY...I get it....you told me once, no sense saying it every day! I do SO look forward to the say I am just OVERWEIGHT!

  5. Stick to liquids today, if you think you still have something stuck, swallow a little bit of meat tenderizer. I have also heard pineapple juice helps, but have never personally tried it.

    And remember for the future -- chew, chew, chew.

    For what it's worth....my doc strongly suggested AGAINST the meat tenderizer thing....because your stomach is...well, MEAT.

    She did mention the pineapple juice or papaya extract, though.


  6. I'm sorry to hear about your doggy, Lynn. I am a totally devoted dog mom, it makes me teary to even think about 'that time'.

    I don't envy you being in a new relationship.....but I would say work on yourself first. In time, the rest of it will follow if it's meant to be.

    we've been married almost 23 years, so we're at a very comfortable stage.....we can even joke about the sags and bags....and still love each other....


  7. yeah, I've thought about hormone therapy....but dang, just getting off all the medicines I was on....I hate to start more!

    Today was much better.....walked a lot and that really helped.

    Hit the year end clearance sale at Victoria's Secret....that really helped! It's fun to be able to find things there now.


  8. I only went down one this week, not sure how that 3 got in there. That's my total loss since we started the Friday weigh ins.

    I like the idea of a seperate thread for the Friday weigh in.

    Me, too.....I think a separate thread would work better....that way, participate it one, both or whatever....I don't like scrolling through all of the graphs to get to conversation!!!!!

    I had a bad day yesterday.....not eating, but I just felt like crap. I'm tellin' ya.....getting older is not for sissies. Menopause is kicking my ass......I'll go 6-8 weeks with no cycle and then have one that just floors me. I was curled up in bed most of the day yesterday.....feels a little better today, but I swear, it feels like I did 500 sit ups my muscles are so sore......the only up side was that I had NO appetite, it actually hurt to eat, so I just did a couple of Protein shakes again........finally broke down last night and 'obtained' a percocet from a friend....at least I could sleep.

    Going to try to walk it off today, I think the movement will help.


  9. Well, three cheers for the 5DPT from me.....I got my holiday gain off in a week and really feel back in control.

    So F*ck the naysayers.....if it works for you, it works for you.....and it sure made me feel better!

    I was spiraling back in to some very bad habits.....the 5dpt made me very conscious of my decisions again and put my head back in the game.

    I'm ready to attack the last thirty pounds with enthusiasm and renewed commitment!

  11. Well, end of day three....had a couple of boiled eggs, some steamed tilapia and some cottage cheese.

    I will most definitely remember this program if I get off track again, I think it's really helped.

    Tomorrow is 'firm' Protein....nothing on the list even sounds remotely good for breakfast:

    Day 4: Firm Protein

    ground meat (turkey, beef, chicken, lamb), shellfish, scallops, lobster, fresh salmon or halibut

    Not quite sure what I'll have......


  12. I have to say that I am impressed with the results I am having from doing the Five Day Pouch test.....after two days of liquids, I ate a boiled egg this morning and it truly filled me up.....almost back down to my ticker weight, too!

    Pretty sure I'll be there by Friday and then.....GAME ON and no looking back!

    I noticed the stores are starting to bring in Spring clothes....Hope Springs Eternal....it will be fun shopping for the trip this year......and that horror of all horrors....shopping for a swimsuit!

    enjoy the day....we finally have some sunshine!


  13. Alrighty then....survived the second day....two days of liquids again.....feel good!!

    I'm eager to see at the end of the five days if my stomach/pouch really does feel tighter...I decided to wait until after the five days to see if I need another fill.

    BTW.....it's been snowing freaking non-stop all day today!

    The skiers are even upset because most of the roads up to the ski resorts are closed due to avalanche risks....it's NASTY outside!


  14. I was a four diet coke a day gal......following at least a pot of coffee in the morning.

    I have been caffeine free for nine months now and I can tell you, that I feel so much better!

    I just did it cold turkey....the first four days or so were hard, but after that, it wasn't bad at all. I drink a lot of Water, so the "drinking habit" is still there, but just replaced with a better choice. I've become very fond of herbal teas in the morning....or a cup or two of Decaf.< /p>


  15. Starting day two here!

    I'm going to wait and have the Protein Shake just before I leave the house instead of my regular Breakfast time. I did find that I got pretty hungry at work yesterday.....of course, nothing that a gigantic glass of Water didn't help me manage. It gave me that sense of empowerment again not to go to the giant box of See's candy or jar of truffles that are still sitting on the counter at work!

    I'll boil up some eggs tonight in preparation for tomorrow....and the other good thing was I'm down two of the pounds that I'd gained over Christmas!


  16. Kathy....could it be that you're a little too tight? That's one of the questions my doc always asks before she gives me a fill......

    I have to say that I've had NO indigestion or reflux since my surgery and it has been HEAVEN! I battled it quite frequently before!

    I also had a hiatal hernia repair.
