kewl....I have unjury, I'll see what I can scare up at vitalady!
-
Where do you get samples? I'm sort of tired of what I have......
-
Ugh.....I'm one day post op....and nothing, I mean nothing sounds good. I did manage to get down one Protein shake yesterday, but it took all day. This morning, a glass of Water and a cup of herbal tea....but seriously, I just can't stand the thought of anything...... Is that normal?
-
GREAT day....can't believe what a difference 24 hours makes....I feel almost "normal" today! Walked to the corner and back.......sat outside and threw the tennis ball for the dogs for a bit! I am reminded 'a bit' when I stand up too quickly, but other than that I feel so good today! Haven't been terribly hungry......ate my teeny bit of cream of wheat for Breakfast and Protein shake for lunch.....drinking lots of Water and I'm sure that's helping. When hubby got home from work he commented immediately about how much better I looked...... Hope you recent bandsters are doing okay....... Can't emphasize what Fenton said enough.....move, drink, move, drink, move, drink......and then repeat!

Leap and the net will appear..........

Today I found that doing some *very* gentle stretches helped with the gas pains.....just lifting my arms all the way over my head and deep breathing. It was a little rough today......kind of rib pain, I suppose where the port is attached.
-
I had a week of clear liquids preop....it wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. The protein drinks kept the hunger at bay and jello filled in the gaps when I really wanted something to "eat". The 'upside' of the liquid phase for me was that it gave me such a strong sense of empowerment, that I really was in control of my destiny! Just keep reminding yourself that in the grand scheme of things it is a pretty short period of time!
-
Along with the deep breathing, I've found that holding a pillow on my tummy and making myself cough helps the lungs, too.....I was surprised at how much gunk I moved when coughing.....
-
You're a great guy, Fenton! I'm so glad to be part of your March Harem! Such practical advice.....walking is the greatest source of relief for me!
-
YAY! Glad to hear that it went well!!! So very exciting that we're all in this together.....it really, really helps!

Is the band right for me?
HarleyGirl replied to southerngirltx's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was a lot like you, Jes. The money was really what kept me from doing it sooner......but my husband and I talked about it and decided that we've made some good financial investments, so what is the difference in making a health investment. My HBP/cholestoral meds are running right around $100 a month....my knees are giving me fits and who knows where that is headed....so in the long run, I figured I can spend the money to improve my health or spend the money to play a catch up game trying to maintain my health. You'll know when and if it's right for you.....just listen to your inner voice. We really do have a strong sense of what is right if we just quiet ourselves and listen! -
Day two for me.....feeling a little more sore today....sort of a heavy feeling in my abdomen, if that makes sense. NO NAUSEA.....god bless modern chemistry! Did eat a half of a cup of vanilla activia yogurt.....it tasted good and seemed to settle okay! First I've tried to eat on the "full liquid" diet.... Been trying walk around the house every hour......just to keep things moving....sound like a motor boat as I walk

I went in to the GNC at our local mall intending on buying some Isopure....I've NEVER stepped foot in that store, so had no idea where it was. I asked the young man at the counter where it was and he pointed it out. I still couldn't find it, so he came over and showed me. He asked who it was for and I said, "Me". He got the most incredulous look on his face and said "YOU use isopure?" I was pizzed off so I just walked out of the store......I thought maybe I had misunderstood him....but my sixteen year old daughter piped up immediately and said, "Well, that was RUDE..." Anyway......I do know that I'll never step foot in another GNC!

Thanks you guys....I really do love it here. I was feeling pretty cocky because yesterday after the surgery, I felt so good......today I'm a weepy, farting, sore mess! This too, shall pass! -
I have two jack russell terrors....oops, TERRIERS.... Here they are at a couple of rare quiet moments: and in action:
-
CONGRATULATIONS! That's such a great milestone!! And yes, your lapband friends do care...very much! I was just banded yesterday and reading you stats gives me so much hope and encouragement!
-
As a March 2008 bandster, I love reading this thread! You guys are an inspiration to me!!
-
Good thoughts for the Wednesday crew! Wishing you calm waters and smooooooooooooth sailing!
-
You know, I haven't felt like having ANYTHING today....I've forced one Protein Drink down, but it's taken me all day to do it. They only thing I've wanted is Water, just plain water.......so you may find the post op clears easier than the pre op!
-
Rhonda...one of my favorite quotes (although not biblical) is "Leap and the net will appear"........ You were so very brave today, we're all proud of you.....and sounds like your husband had the net ready for you!
-
My doc said NO carbonation......since I just dumped a big ol' bucketful of money at the hospital.....nope, nope, nope....not gonna go there!
-
Hey biker buddies..... Officially joining the band today! Had my surgery this morning and it went very well....doc said it was 'textbook' perfect. Feeling *pretty* good.....not ready to hop on the scooter, but well enough to walk around it!! Looking forward to lightening the load on the ol' gal.....me and the bike~
-
Good thoughts for you tomorrow! Hoping your day goes as smoothly as mine did. I've very glad to be home with my own stuff......I don't like hospitals!
-
I got to the hospital at 6am, went to surgery about 730am, left the hospital noon....so six hours total!
-
YEAH for you!! It's sort of like our second birthdays, isn't it! Glad that your procedure was an uneventul as mine! XOXO
