    Biggest Loser Fall 09

It's funny because I usually like the black team. This year, not at all. Even Jill said something during the show like "what is with the contestants this season." The producers brought on Abby for the tear jerker. It is nice that she is on the speaker's circuit and living life again. So, I say go blue team! I only like the big guy on the black team. And.....unlike everyone else, I LIKE Tracy! At least she is honest. the rest of them are so very fake! "I didn't know about the money." Pulease!

Greetings! Christine, my heart goes out to you. But, the good news is that you have lost some weight. How horrible that you can't really use the band as you need to! My journey has been potholed at best! But, I keep plugging away. I'm near the oneunderland mark and it would be nice to have that before the new year. But, if not, by the end of January! Oh, and Sharon, I have 9.75 in a 10cc band. You have room to move! Get another fill it you think it will jump start you!

Bummer Dina went. I kind of liked her. I usually like the black team and are pulling for them, but this season they seem like a bunch of ding bats. That brown team guy is going to win. I mean really, if he didn't have immunity, they should vote him off. He is really going to be a threat! I also wonder about the huggy thing going on with the former brown team. They both have spouses. There have been other incidents on biggest loser of people getting divorced. This week should be interesting. They are matching up the players and the each player wins a point for their team. The team with the most points doesn't have to vote someone off. Go Tracy! LOL. (Please vote Shay off!!!!!!!! Really, only five pounds?!)

Howdy fellow banders! BNL - Congrats on getting to the top of the mountain. Time to set another goal! I'm single, but haven't been dating. Mostly, trying to work on myself at the moment. I have to admit that more people are noticing. Men are opening doors for me. (I didn't realize they did that anymore!) I now have friends with jealousy issues. I had one friend tell me that "people are going to be surprised when they see you at the Christmas party." I go to a industry holiday party every year. Last year I wore almost the same outfit I had worn the year before, despite the fact I had lost almost 45 pounds. I really can't wear that outfit now, so I must go shopping. I am finding that I like being seen. But, I have to admit being invisible was good at times...

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

Hi! I love it Tracy is still there! She is just obvious about the game play. Almost everyone there is playing the game. Tracy could have stacked the deck in her favor even more and she didn't. There are 3 women on her team! Shay and Daniel played the game last week when they won immunity. They both watered up to keep from loosing much weight. Then this week they lost big. Well, they both should. Shay is 400+ pounds, working out 4-5 hours a day. She should be dropping big numbers! All she does is whine. I hope they vote her off next! I'm kind of glad Coach Mo is gone. All he seemed to do was complain about what he couldn't do. I'm glad he seem to pull it together when he got home. Good to see him working out with the kids in stead of just working the kids! And I do not buy the "I didn't know about the money" - Are you kidding me?!? He is so full of crap! Manatee - you had me laughing at your comments. Losing weight via tears! A friend of mine commented that everyone was blubbering on this show already. Maggy - grapes and bananas are full of fructose which is sugar. I'd eat them in moderation.

I'm scared of Halloween candy! I stay far, far away from the stuff. I look at it like it's a rattlesnake! I won't buy the stuff until the day before Halloween and I ask my son's father to haul the bag of loot away and hide it!

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

I have heard interviews and they work out a lot. They work out 5-6 hours a day. That is why they lose the amount of weight they do. When they get back to "real" life it is hard to keep that up! Some do. Some don't. I'm glad some of the recent winners are keeping their weight off. There for a while a lot of them were gaining of lot of the weight back!

    Biggest Loser Fall 09

Tracy is an odd person, but at least she is honest about her game play. Every week when they talk about "who NEEDS to be here" I just want to vomit.....It's a reality show! It's a game! Are you kidding me? As much as I didn't care for Julio, they should have gotten rid of the brown team because it was 2 people. The one who annoys me the most is Dan's partner. She gets by because she is the fattest? What kind of logic is that? They all have to go home sooner or later! She has so many opinions about every one else, but she was the FIRST one to wimp out! I did like that Jillian and Bob told Tracy that game players gain their weight back. They do. Just look at Eric and some of the others. They got their money and then gained a ton of weight. P.S. Thanks for the articles about Helen and Dan's mom. I enjoyed getting the follow up. I expected Helen to gain some weight. I was thrilled she won, but she was looking too small!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Greetings! I know what it is like to get your band a little too tight. Then you eat something that causes swelling and it gets so tight you are drinking all your food. I gave it a little time and it worked itself out. I still may get a little unfill. Sad to say, I still have no problem getting enough calories in! Christine - I think that slipping into bad habits is something that we will have to work on for a while. It took me many years to get where I was, I figure it will take a lot of time and conscious eating to get back where I want to be. Bummer you have a lot of junk food around! I sometimes have that problem at work. I try to stay out of the kitchen.

Slow Users-Banded a year or more

Mary, How awesome! I am in between a 20 and 18. It will be so nice to shop in a normal store. Actually, I have been hitting the re-sale shops and size 18 is a tough find there! LOL, I will have to go and buy some stuff. Have you noticed there is some serious variance in sizes? I have several pairs of pants in size 18. It's like the 3 little bears, one pair is too loose, one pair is too tight and one pair is just right...LOL

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Howdy everyone! It's funny, I will allow myself a treat or a slip-up, but the conscious eating keeps me from going into a downward spiral. I usually stop after the initial mistake and move on. That is probably why I am loosing so slow, but the scale is still going down. I figure we are addicts. It will always be something I have to deal with. They didn't operate on my brain. I'm hoping to get to oneunderland by the new year. It is not an outrageous goal at the moment. I just had a fill and it may have been a little too much. It's been a week and it's difficult to get anything solid down. I'm going to give it til next week and may have to get a slight unfill. Funny, I can still get most of my calories and Protein in!

    Fell off the BAND wagon...help

Howdy! I know how you feel! I went crazy this spring and exercised 5 times a week and really ate what I thought was pretty well! I had already written down all my food every day, but my doctor wanted me to track my calories as well. Well, I started tracking my calories and found..... I was eating too little! I started to loose again. It could be that you are eating too much, but hard to say. I'd check your calorie count. I resisted that for a long time, but finally checked it out. There are ways to increase your calorie count without falling off the wagon. My calorie count now runs from 1000 to 1300. I try to vary it because if you get too much in a rut, your body seems to stop loosing weight also. Hope this helps!

Slow Users-Banded a year or more

Hello! I think I found the correct board! Most of the people that were banded the same month as I are getting plastic surgery. That is so far off my radar at this point! My current goal is to get under 200. I'm really closer to it than I have been in a long time. I would like to get there by the holidays. I agree with the other posts. I figure if it takes me this long, I should have some seriously ingrained habits about eating! I still have a brain that wants me to eat. At this point I am not sure that will go away. But, the good news is that I eat fairly well and the times I don't, the band is really helpful! I'm glad the scale is gradually moving downward. I keep hoping that my skin will not sag much! LOL! I didn't tell too many folks that I got the band. Good thing, because not many would believe I had WLS. (just like the other poster said!)

Howdy Shamrocks! Wow, 18 months! I'm sure I thought I would have been to my goal by now! LOL Oh, well! I'm glad the scale is slowly going down.... Andrew - I'm scared of another surgery as well. But, not much I can do about the serious excess skin. So, in a year or more, I expect I will need surgery. Of course, I am loosing so slow, there is always the possibility my skin will shrink! LOL I'm selfishly glad there are a few other shamrocks who are still in the loosing weight mode. I started to feel a little lonely because the only people on here were the ones talking about PS. Yep, not close to that just yet. I have noticed something interesting though... A LOT of my friends are gaining weight. I am very close to them in size or smaller than them! I went to a funeral last week and was stunned at how chunky folks were getting! It was good for my ego, lots of nice comments. It was a little scary though! What is going on in the U.S.A.?!?!

Slow Users-Banded a year or more

Apparently, this is the forum I need to be in! I have been a very slow looser.....only 69 pounds in 17 months... yikes! But the scale keeps going down, so I guess that is a good thing....

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Howdy shamrocks! Lynn it sounds like all is going pretty good. Glad to hear you have most of the drains out and can wear normal clothes, sort of. Desdemona - I hope your surgery went well. If I calculated correctly, it was last week. I have to admit, I don't want mine reduced, just back where they belong! OK......drum roll.....dum dum dum... I am officially half way there! I'm excited. I'm guessing that I should be at oneunderland by the holidays. What great motivation to stay away from the goodies! How is everyone? The board is moving slow, but I figure that is because it is summer...maybe also because a lot of you are hitting your goals.... I'm still attending a support group. Sometimes I feel like the slowest looser there....then I hit the board on this forum and don't feel so bad. I'm happy that the scale continues to go down. I'm off for now!

Goodness! I leave for a couple of months and everything changes. Good luck Lynn! I'm pea green with envy at all of you getting ps. I am nowhere near that goal as I still have a lot of weight to loose. The doc tells me that the TT will be covered by insurance, but doesn't want to do it now. (Neither do I! I sure don't want to do that 2xs!) Harley - sorry for your loss! Divorce is tough! Well, tried to update my signature and it wouldn't let me...lol, guess I have to come back more often!

Hi Shamrocks! Hard to believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I posted. Scrappy - how fabulous! I don't expect to get rid of the tummy flap for another year or more. The doctor says I can do it now, but I have lots more to loose and I am not interested in doing it twice. You love beautiful, btw! NSV - I'm getting a lot of comments that I have lost "lots" of weight, but the dumb number on the scale won't move no matter how hard I kick the scale. It truly is frustrating. UGH! Well, the good news is that I should be in a size 18 soon. It's been a few years since I have seen that size. Acutally probably about 5.

Lynn - I'm with you. I occasionally change up the amount of calories I eat, but it really has to do with the carbs for me. If I track them carefully (and I do) I see if I go over 60-70 grams of carbs and I don't loose. You could always talk to your dietician. I have found them sometimes helpful. Christine - kudos for doing exercise even when you didn't feel well! Scrappy - congrats on the approval. I will also be getting a panectomy. I still have a ways to go! I'm not interested it having it done twice! Special K - I laughed out loud at your story. I have two cats also and I KNOW which cat would have done that! (The same one that escapes outside every chance she gets!) Diva - good luck with whatever procedure you have. I haven't had that test at all. It does sound like your band has enough in it though. Well....I'm a little frustrated about my non weight loss. But, I know it is the carbs. So, I have a renewed interest in keeping the carbs down. I still love my wii fit, so it definitely isn't the exercise. I have had several people ask me if I have lost a lot of weight recently. It is totally the exercise because I am loosing about a 1 pound a week. (if that!) So in the 2 months they think I have lost a lot of weight, it was really the exercise toning me up. Now I have to get more serious about keeping the carbs down. Darn carbs....they just love me so much they stay around forever!

Hi Shamrocks! Interesting new look for the website....or maybe my computer has gone wonky.... NSV - I was waiting at the deli for my order and I had my sons Snacks on the counter. The cashier walked up and I stepped back and said, "I'm just waiting for my deli order". The next person in line went. Then there was a nice looking man after her. The lady brought out my deli order and he smiled and said go ahead hun. (I'm loving that I get SEEN now!) wasn't that nice? I'm glad I can eat food now. Everytime I wonder if I have a band, it reminds me.... LOL, I hope I stop wondering! PBs are just nasty!

Ugh - apparently I have a hard head! I went out to dinner last night and ordered an omelet. I ate about a 1/3 of it. I brought the rest home. This morning I got up early and thought cool, I don't have to cook, I'll just warm up the leftovers. So, I warmed up about 1/2 of the leftovers. Then I started eating. I don't know if I ate too fast or didn't chew well enough.....yep, you guessed it, nasty PB. Now I am on liquids! I don't really care for it, but I'm scared to eat any real food. Very cool about the gung ho exercise for some of you all! I still love the wii! Oh and Amanda, I shop at the thrift stores for now. Goodwill and things like that are pretty cheap. And I don't look like some poor bag lady with baggy clothes. (Frankly, clothes that fit look better because people can see the weight you have lost.)

    biggest loser - '09

Man that ron dude sure is a snake. My biggest hope is that he doesn't make it to the end. I'm sure he would tank it for his kid. But, he may try to keep close so they can get the two top prizes for the family. Frankly, I expect to see that man on Oprah in a couple of years big again and whining about how he couldn't keep the weight off. I was was amazed at the mom when I first saw her. Now I realize the whole family had weight issues. If she had WLS good for her. I'm with everyone else and am tired of hearing sharpie man cry how it didn't work for him.

Hey Shamrocks! Carrie - Happy Belated Birthday!!!!! Your post made me laugh. I finally looked at some pictures of myself from a year ago.....then some more recent photos. It made me want to go find someone who saw me last year! I agree about the plateau thing. Last week I had a day where I know I went over the amount of carbs I normally eat. I didn't starve myself the next day, just ate well. Now I am losing weight again. Even on the show biggest loser they have a "high calorie day" once a week. I have to admit having a 'high calorie day' sort of scares me. I have that slipperly slope issue. But, to have one day a week that is a little more food than usual.....

Hi Shamrocks! Diva - I think everyone has a different tolerance. I have 8.25 cc in a 9cc band. There are many that wouldn't be able to drink Water with that much in the band. But, it works for me. Christine - I am so sorry you are having such issues. I'm sure it just sucks! Don't feel like you have to become a "lurker" just because you are having a hard time of it. I think we need both good and not so good comments. You never know when someone else is having problems. You continue to walk the path! That is important! P.S. Bummer about carbs going down easy! I am very carb resistant and I would find that very frustrating! TP78- Wonderful that you are filled again. Even more wonderful that you are a size 12 at 190. I'm starting to like exercise! (holy cow did that comment come from me?) wishin - I think Fenton is mia. I haven't seen a post from him in a while. Thank goodness for Andrew or we wouldn't have a token male. Well, I'm happy that I managed to lose weight on vacation. I was a little worried about the food and exercise. But, it sure gave me some confidence. I have some big goals coming up in the next few months. (getting to the half way mark, getting under 200) I plan to keep on putting one foot in front of the other. And should I slip along the way, to just get up, dust my mouth off, and move on.
