Sleeved, now what to do about the gurgling noises?
LSF replied to Mel24's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm almost 3 months out and I have loud gurgles for about 15 minutes after every meal and then it stops -
I had bought Pure Protein bars at Costco and hated them. Nothing has really appealed to me since my surgery but I've been sticking to the Atkins bars. Haven't tried the Quest bars yet, still waiting for my free sample to come in the mail

What to take to the hospital
LSF replied to Soontobeskinnyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a cell phone, charger and toothbrush. The hospital gowns are easier. JuSt wear 2 so you are not flashing everyone. -
If you are working out every day then you need to increase your calories. The scale will move ????

What is your max carbs per day?
LSF replied to butterfly23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't go over 25-30 Max. If I seem to go a few days with less than 20, I'll increase the carbs to keep the weight loss consistent. I'll make a pizza on a low carb pita or have a few crackers with cheese or a baked potato -
Mine was just pre-op. I asked her if she does follow up visits and she said if I want to I can but she usually does pre -op

My Update - for anyone planning or thinking about revision
LSF replied to A. Stoot's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I also had mine done in 1 surgery, I think it depends on the surgeon -
With all your walking you should increase your calories. Then the scale should start to budge. For 2 miles a day I would increase by 100

I was getting some mild heart burn after surgery. I went to cvs and bought their brand of Pepsid. I just have to take it before bedtime and I'm fine. Some days I don't need it at all but it helps me more than Tums. Certain foods could be aggravating you also

I was sleeved on 2/4. Occasionally I'll get a wave of nausea. Lately food has not been appealing to me. I did notice that if I eat something "bad" like a chocolate I'll get diarrhea the next day. I've had a couple if occasions where I gave into temptation and now I have no desire to eat those foods.

2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
LSF replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This makes me appreciate my hospital. The staff was so nice and my roommate was there for a tummy tuck - she had the sleeve a couple of years ago so I was pumping her with questions while we were both so out if it. Hope today is a better day for you -
2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
LSF replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe the Bariatric surgeon will confront the asshole doctor on your behalf. I probably would have caused a scene going off on the doctor. If anything like that happens again- let it rip!!! You both have been through so much and don't need to take any crap from anyone at this point. I pray that tomorrow is a better day for you both. Lori -
2 Days Post Open Severe Nausea
LSF replied to ssourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG!! The poor kid. How is she doing now? Please keep us updated. You must be a wreck. We are all wishing her well and hope that she finally turns a corner for the better -
Have you started your protein drinks yet? I had a ton of energy the first 2 weeks after surgery while I was home recovering, once I went back to work and back to my 5-6 hours of sleep , I started getting tired again

I agree with exactly what Babbs said.

Probably just had the munchies ???? I agree with the others, it relaxed you and was just what you needed.

One month post op... Wait loss stall
LSF replied to therealLC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You have to remember- the average weight loss is 1-3 pounds a week. Since you lost so much weight in such a short amount of time, your body needs time to catch up. -
I will admit that I've given in twice to cravings and after I ate it, I lost interest in those foods. Lately, it seems like I eat to eat but nothing is appealing . As far a pizza, every Friday a pizza shop has been delivering a free party size pizza to us at work. I take 1 piece, eat the topping and throw away the crust. It hits the spot

How many of you continue the shakes in your diet after many months after surgery?
LSF replied to bellabill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still drink the Premier Protein shakes on Saturday mornings for breakfast because I'm out the door and on the go and don't have time to really stop and eat. -
My recovery was very smooth. I didn't bother to take any prescription pain meds because I didn't want the nausea and I was fine without them. I felt like recovery is easier for revision patients because we went thru it before

I took 2 weeks off but could have gone back after 1 week. I have a mostly desk job but had to give my employer a note about a restriction for not lifting over a certain weight for a month post op. My boss told me I could work shorter days when I returned if I wasn't feeling good but I was fine

Actually, adding some carbs will help to jump start your system. Have some whole wheat pasta for 1 meal and see what happens. I ate a veggie spring roll last week and dropped 2 pounds.

I have Cigna. They responded within a week for approval
