I finally saw my surgeon yesterday - I am now up to 8cc's. I had gained a few pounds a couple of weeks ago but lost it without realizing it. I told him I was still able to eat anything - some foods slower than others but I was more concerned at the portion sizes that I was able to consume at times. We'll see how 8cc's are.....

You really need to get the water in - it's very inportant and that could be causing your pain. Are you eating creamed soups? those will be more filling for now.

Well, after looking at the poll I see there is still hope. Since I'm already at 7cc's and not restrictred enough, I was happy to see that more people had it with 8 or 9 cc's.

A no carb diet can consist of an egg beater & cheese omelet for any meal, ground turkey chili made with cooked veggies, red-fat cheese sticks for snacks, fish, shellfish, sauteed steak or chicken with veggies etc..., Those make really great meals and I should be doing that more often as well.

Wow!! I'm suprised he gave you 5cc's in 1 shot. That's alot to get all at once.

I missed the meeting - I plan on going to the March one.

I hear you all - I'm at 7 cc's and still don't feel the restriction as well as I should. I'm also hungry every 3 hours and my DR. has limited his fill visits to 1 afternoon a week so it's getting harder to get in to see him.

I am up to 7cc's and still don't have enough restriction - and I'm sorry to say - I haven't been eating as well as I should. I'm not going crazy down the junk food path - but my meal portions are definitely over 2 cups - and I'm hungry every 3 hours.

WannaB - How far apart were your last 2 fills? I am at 7cc's and still don't have enough restriction but I always waited at least 3 weeks between fills. One of my fills actually kicked in 2 weeks later. Now, my surgeon is so limited as to his office hours for fills that I have to wait until 3/18th (my last was 2/7th) and I'm nervous that I'm going to gain. Don't let your DR. take out too much - it sounds like you were almost there. Good luck!!!

I missed the meeting AGAIN. I am planning on making it to the March meeting. I'm frustrated because I called the office to schedule a fill with Fiallo and he is only doing fills on Wednesday afternoons. They couldn't fit me in until March 18th - my last fill was 2/7 and I'm still not restricted enough. I liked it before when he had 2 1/2 days set aside for fills each week. Now it will be harder to get in.

Maybe this went through after the New Year. I'm surprised because I think it's cheaper to do it at Noble - it would save the insurance company more money.

What hospital are they making you change from? I also go to PVSA - I was supposed to have my surgery at Baystate but they moved me to Noble because I was 'low risk" and Tufts covered it.

I'n on vacation in Florida right now - we go out to eat for lunch & dinner every day. Everyone is shocked that I have been able to eat everything (I found out that I can no longer eat a sandwich wrap) but I'm never able to finish my meal like I used to. I do have to stop after a few bites just to wait a few minutes for the food to pass and people keep asking me if I'm OK. My co-workers are so used to it that they just ignore me when I stop which I like.

Thanks! The best thing is that Tufts cocers the first 90 days of appointments so I was able to get my first 3 fills for free. But my co-pay went way up this year, my fills will cost me $45.

Actually - I completed the program and had the surgery on 11/19th. Once it was completed - Tufts moved very quickly. Good luck to you!

What insurance do you have?

Sometimes what I find helps is to do something similiar to South Beach - go 2 days of eating just protein only. (omelets & turkey bacon for breakfast, chicken, hamburg, turkey, steak, fish for dinner) with cheese sticks as a snack. Only for 2 days - this jump starts your system - by day 3 add vegetables and day 4, add fruits & nuts. I don't have much restriction and I'm too hungry to do the pouch test. It makes me crave more foods and then I go crazy eating the bad stuff. I did the protein thing the week before my surgery and dropped 5 pounds. Plus, it's alot of food but then you don't become quite as hungry. I should be doing it now also.

Hello all! I just found this link - I'm so excited. I was banded on 11/19th by Dr. Fiallo. I have no restriction and am going back in on Saturday for my 3rd fill. I did notice at my last appt that there is a pocket on the wall in the examing room with the meeting dates for us to take. I missed the January meeting but I'm hoping to make the next one. I'm concerned about the mix of the meetings. Look forward to getting to meet everyone Lori

I had my period during the surgery. Then I got it again exactly 1 month later - right on time. My last period was 2 weeks late!!! I started to forget about it when it came on sudddenly .

Chili & mashed potatoes. I was eating them separately, then 1 day I put a spoonful of mashed potatoes in a bowl, put another spoonful of chili on top and melted shredded cheese on top of that. It was great & soooo filling.

Trust me - you are not alone. I also have 6cc's and hardly have any restriction.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I've had 2 fills with no restriction. I have been able to eat anything. Every now & then, I feel the band and I have to stop whatever I'm eating, then I burp and I'm ready to continue eating. It's getting frustrating for me as well.

I'm just curious, the nurse told me we have to wait 3 weeks but the doctor told me to come back in 2 if I still don't have any restriction. (I just had my 2nd fill 1/21 - I now have a total of 6cc's). He told me to wait until the 29th to see how I feel.
