    Gain?

I read an article that if you are eating really healthy, low or no carbs, to take 1 day to eat some fattening stuff, pasta, dessert etc and go back on track the next day. They say it " jump starts" your system
  6. I agree. We might not all agree with some of the posts but there is no need to get nasty. I've stopped responding to a couple of posts where people really are going at it. We all have issues with food, that's why we had the surgery and we need to be there to support each other, not knock each other down.

    I have a Date!

Congrats!! You will be so happy !
  8. Had the surgery yesterday. Still in the hospital. My surgeon said I had minimal scar tissue. Didn't take any pain meds and the pain is bearable. They still have me on ice chips, just waiting to switch to water
  9. I found it interesting, I went to the dog park the other day for the first time since the beginning of January and one of the regulars said " hey, you lost a lot of weight". I was surprised because I was bundled up in my winter coat, hat, scarf etc..( and only 13 pounds). I decided to get on the scale the next day and saw that I had lost 3 more pounds!! Today , almost 5 weeks post op I finally experienced what happens when you eat too fast ( celery w/peanut butter) I ran to the bathroom and started dry heaving ( that's what usually happened to me with the band)
  10. Lucky you to get it so quickly
  11. The fudgesicles are sugar free

    Meal help needed!

Another think I did was made a large batch of Ground Turkey Chili and froze it in small containers. I did the same thing with ground chicken meatballs

    Meal help needed!

Here's one I just made - I bought roast beef deli , sautéed it with chopped onions in olive oil. Sliced a green pepper into large pieces, put provolone cheese on each slice, topped with the roast beef/ onion and added more cheese on top. Baked for 15 minutes I live alone also while my son is away so I'm creating these great small meals

    Soft Foods Help

I've noticed that every time I tried something new- I had trouble eating it the first time and that it gets easier the more I eat it
  17. I was sleeved on 2/4. I've been taking vitamins since 4 days post op. I take Centrum Chewable, a Costco chewable Vitamin C and a Vitamin B that dissolves under the tongue. Haven't had any issues

    Soft Foods Help

I agree. Yogurt, soup , eggs, cottage cheese
  19. I consider sliders any kind of junk food because it " slides" down easily. That's the kind of food that went right through my band. Haven't tried anything yet with my sleeve
  20. @@GreenEyes604 How did your doctor appointment go?
  21. @@Myonlybattle, I have the same issues. I might only be able to get a very small meal down and an hour or so later I'm sometimes hungry again. But if I have a snack, I'll have some deli meat or a cheese stick or an Atkins snack. It seems to do the trick
  22. Premier Protein drinks are good - 30 grams each. Prepare sugar free jello in advance also. Plain tomato soup tastes great after all the protein drinks. For mushies, I had a small scoop of mashed potatoes with a couple of spoonfuls of chili w/beans on top and shredded cheese. I would microwave it and stir it up. It was delicious.
  23. I feel like my band to sleeve revision is giving me a 2nd chance. I had the band in 2008 and did really well the first year to 18 months until I got a fill that was too tight. From there I went downhill, eating slider foods and my bad habits all came back to where I gained almost all my weight back. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm back to the beginning eating healthy and small portions I know that I'm going to have to work hard but I feel like this gave me a second chance
  24. My plan lets me have fruit by 31 days post op. I just cut up some strawberries today and put them in cups with sugar free jello. I haven't eaten it yet
