  1. Wow, Froggi, I'm a little shocked to hear you say that.

I think saying 5 yr olds know more about sex is a poor excuse to approve sex education for kindergarten. It's a better reason for society to make different changes, like limiting exposure- not increasing it. A 5 year old does not need to know these kind of things.

I don't know what kind of 5 year olds you all know, but I've never met a 5 year old that I felt needed education in this department.

  2. Hi Everyone! My husband and I are vacationing in Chicago this weekend. Since I LOVE food, I'm wanting to visit some "classics" where I'll really get the Chicago taste, but not too big porportions or difficulty in eating. Maybe some band friend places.

Does anyone have any highlights we should hit? Since of course with the band I can't eat everywhere I would normally! lol

    Thanks!

  3. ... what's a weepy rash?

I get this too, under my boobs and apron area. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to make it obnoxious. I didn't even think to try to buy anything for it, I was trying to keep it warm. These are great hints that I'm going to try.

Also, this may be TMI, but it smells. I mean, you can't smell it normally, but if I touch the sweat or wetness, and snif (don't laugh, you know you've done it too!) :lovechoc: it stinks!

  4. I don't have a "phobia" per se, but I do really hate needles. That's why I always get my fills under flouro, there's no digging. I still hate fills, but they just pop and pop out and the whole event is over within moments. I would never get a fill without the flouro. There will be no "digging" in my body!

  5. I don't mind personal pics, but when they upload a million of the same type thing, that's excessive. And, the whole tattoo pic or several pics of your new haircut... I mean, it gets old. But to each his own. I just don't look at the pics anymore. I stick to the Before and After thread (although, that's turned into more words than pics- I thought it was supposed to be just pics)

  6. drstan- I don't know if you're a "troll" or not, but if you're sincere, I urge you to try reading more about lapband. It will help with hunger. But you need to eat the right things in the right way. Also, two fills? Some people it really works it's magic in two fills, for some, like me, it takes five. You really need to be working WITH your doctor. I promise they're not interested in you failing. After two fills, I still was hungry. Don't give up because you lack the patience and follow through. Giving up is what made you fat.

  7. I hope you guys aren't talking about this in front of your daughter, and that causes problems in and of itself. In my opinion, your husband does appear to just be worried. Although, he needs to know that if you eat too much, you can hurt yourself. And not eating all day is not healthy either, and doesn't make it so you can eat more in the evening. I think your daughter is old enough to understand some basics. That you and daddy are going to model good eating behaviors for her, even though you don't eat a lot, you eat the right things that are healthy. I would explain that mommy eats good things for her body, but unlike daddy and your little girl, she can't eat too much or it would hurt her.

  8. Thanks slim!

Okay, so increments... I can work with that. My friend asked how many sizes I'd lost and I said I didn't know, I didn't want to ask how I would count! lol. I know it's silly, but oh well.

I'm almost down below 300, I'm so excited! I can't believe this is actually happening for me. It's like I finally have a hold of my life and my body rather than it having a hold on me.

  9. Okay, when people talk about losing 4 sizes or whatever, I don't know how that's measured. Maybe someone can help answer my question... Is it based on the numbers? Like if I started at a 30 and am down to a 24, is that 6 sizes? Or is it based on the sizes you see in the stores, so that would be 3 sizes? (28, 26, 24). I know this is a silly fundamental question, but I don't know the difference or how to tell what I've done. I started at a 32/30 and I'm down to a 24. HELP!

I love this room... ya'll are so awesome!

  10. "Elimination of the death penalty [in California] would result in a net savings to the state of at least tens of millions of dollars annually, and a net savings to local governments in the millions to tens of millions of dollars on a statewide basis." (Joint Legislative Budget Committee of the California Legislature, 09/9/99)

Total cost of death penalty is 38% greater than total cost of life without parole sentences. (Indiana Criminal Law Study Commission, January 10, 2002)

Since its return to New York in 1995, $160 million has been spent. The New York Daily News estimates that before the first execution takes place, $238 million will be spent.

In addition to the funds required to try death penalty cases, the New York Department of Correctional Services spent $1.3 million to construct New York's 12-inmate death row and pays nearly $300,000 per year to guard the unit. (New York Law Journal, April 30, 2002)

Not that this thread is about the death penalty, but if you're going to disagree, you should support it. Based on my own research on the death penalty I've found that the death penalty is not beneficial for several reasons, which I won't outline here because again, this thread is for abortion. I just get frustrated when people start YELLING about their beliefs, but don't know the facts. If you believe it based on emotion, I'm fine with that, but don't claim you're coming from a place of logic when you're not.

No matter who is killing who for whatever reason (abortion, death penalty, murder) killing someone is not right.

  11. Our bodies -our right to do what we see as necessary for survival-mental-physical-or

    economical.!......bottom line :smile2:

AND I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS MORE...GET OFF THE "RIGHT TO LIFE" CRAP....BRING BACK PUBLIC EXECUTIONS--FRY THE BABY RAPISTS WE ARE RELEASING TO RAPE AND MURDER AGAIN! WE NEED PRAYER BACK IN SCHOOLS AND OUR LIVES.

WE ARE FEEDING/HOUSING THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PRISONERS THAT SHOULD BE PUT TO DEATH WHILE THE MONEY COULD BE BETTER SPENT ON ELDERLY-POOR-UNEDUCATED....BECAUSE OF PEOPLE WITH THE "RIGHT TO LIFE ATTITUDE"WHO HAVE CHANGED A WORKING SYSTEM INTO A MESS.

Wow, I'm so glad I don't think like that. BTW: to execute a person takes more money than if we just sentenced them to prison for life.

  12. If you got pregnant and your husband doesn't want the child would you expect him to pay for the child? If it was your boyfriend? How can a person expect it to be all their body, their decison but only half their reponsibility?

The physical aspect of having a child aside, men do have alot to do with it and they should. They should take responsibility for the child. I don't know what society you are living in but where I live it is not acceptable for men to abandon their children - ever. Unacceptable before or after they are born. I think we all know what those men are called.

Men may not know what it's like to actually have a baby but I am sure there are plenty of men who know what it's like having a crazy nut job coming after him because she didn't use any birth control.

People should just be careful. I can no longer believe that a child is a choice. Pregnancy is a choice. Sometimes its not planned and sometimes it is. But either way it should be a blessing and not a curse.

    here here!

  13. When I was first banded I exercised religiously. Now, I've got so much going on in my life I just don't have time. I've changed some habits though, parking farther away etc... but I was loosing more when I was able to exercise. Although, I DO keep paying for the gym month after month!
