  1. I think, THINK Magees Nutritional Program has a lap band and a lap band and bastric combined support group that meets at Shadyside. I know that there is a combo support group meeting on the first Weds of the month at Magee. The meeting is at 7pm in room 12131. I'll look for my support group flier in my files when I am home later this evening.

  2. I had a giggle this AM - While heading out (our driveway is a mile long dirt road - yep in the country - LOL) I noticed a "Huckabee" sign once I passed through our electronic gate.

I immediately called my husband to see if he was playing w/me, and he's like NO - I didn't even see it. After I got out and certainly pull it from it's "stake in the ground" I realized the whole neighborhood has these signs up.

I do have a "No Trespassing Sign" & "Be Aware - Dogs" sign as well, might have to get my 16yr old Chihuhua out to chase down them Huckabee Fans - My Labs will just roll over for a belly rub..:rolleyes2:

Dress her up in a Huckabee sweater- It will scare people away from your property! I have a black lab/pit bull mix. She looks frightening because she is so big and black- but the only damage she can do to someone is licking them to death. She meets every stranger with a happy tail wag and lots of love. If she is frightened she will run away. My little dog weights no more than 10 pounds and is the one who makes a fuss and attacks.

  3. Thanks for the support Shelly. It's starting too look like the kids will have a delay tomorrow. I checked out local school district on kdka.com and so far- no closing/delay. Pgh Public has a two hour delay, I imagine we should be posted shortly. I don't have children of my own however on snow days my house is a zoo with everyone else's. That probably will keep me from the gym and I will be tempted to nibble on junky kiddie Snacks my sister in law and neightbors will drop off along w the kiddies.

    :tt2:

  4. I was reading a thread and noticed the individual who started it has a suspended account? What does that mean? did the person stop signing in for a certain period of time? Did they cancel it? Did they do something wicked?

    :)

  5. I have had a lot of difficulty deciding between the band vs bypass. I'm struggling with my 6 m of dieting. I'm not loosing weight. A couple days ago I panicked about thought - maybe i should just get the gastric bypass done because i am never going to loose weight. The thought of Gastric Bypass scares the $@!#@! out of me. I thought about it a few years ago and decided against it. I found out UPMC covers the band and started the Magee Weight Management Program. I am 98% sure I am going to have the band.

    :)

  6. I am in month 4 of the mcgee program. My health insurance is UPMC. I am told that since I am in the UPMC program my approval should be easy. I'd rather pay for the program and not be turned down after 6 months. My uncle had gastric bypass. The first time he did 6 months of dr superived dieting he was turned down by his health insurnce because his dr had not weighed him each month- the nurse at the office had.... I think the McGee program is worth it. They have helped me quite a bit with questions and they have a payment program.

  7. Well, while the surgeon himself has proven to be great, his office staff proved themselves to me to be borderline incompetent - they missed key points all along the way, only remembering them if I brought them up.

At one point someone among their office staff said they utilized a "team approach" to the process, at which point I piped up that if that were true, the team had a strange resemblance to the Pittsburgh Pirates or Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Hey!, The Pirates never give up! :cheers2:
