  1. Hi everyone I was just wondering if anybody elses dr moved them to solids on the 5th week. I thought it wasn't until 6-8 weeks that you got to eat solids. I am really scared going from liquids and mushies to solids. I do not want to gain the lbs back that I lost with such hard work, dedication and starvation. I asked the dr if I could continue to do a shake for breakfast and he said no. He said at this point I needed to eat 1/2 a cup to 1 1/2 cup of solid (depending on when I get full) food 3 times a day. I am so scared!!! Any advice anyone could give me or just tell me if you felt this way too. Thanks
  2. Just wondering if any of you had any redness, itching or irritation around the incision? Could this be a sign of something wrong of just part of the healing process? I called the dr earlier today and have not received a call back so I assume it is not serious but wanted to ask and see if any of you guys had this reaction after surgery. I was banded on Monday and released on Tuesday. Dr told me to shower and remove the bandaids on Wednesday so I did and that is when I noticed the redness. Please advise.
  3. Dr. sais I need to get in my protein and I am still in the liquid phase. I want a shake that has enough protein in it. Some canned shakes like slim fast and ensure have protein but not alot. I was reading some labels on some proteins shakes and I found 1 called Cardiolink it is a weight loss formula and it contains 25 grams of soy protein. I wonder if soy protein would be the same as having regular protein. Or is there a difference. Does anyone know???

    Looking for November 2005 Banders!

Got banded November 7th and not doing so well. I need some advice from those of you who have lost a good amount of weight. I was down 40 lbs since about February. But have since gained back about 10 lbs. I don't know what to do. Sometimes I am so hungry I just eat and eat and never feel full. I need some good advice on how to start over again. I try every day but fail every day. I am only down 30 lbs. I feel bad but know that I can do better I just need to know what you all do that works for your.
  5. I was wondering if anyone in here has taken appetite suppresant pills after being banded. I find that I am always hungry and am wondering if in addition to being banded and trying to eat right, will taking diet pills help me not be so hungry all the time. If any one has been successful at this please give us your story.
  6. I was banded on Nov 7th and have only lost 40 lbs. I went in for a 3rd fill and had only lost 2 lbs since my last fill which was 2 months ago. This is so hard to do. I thought the weight would just fall off and that i would not feel hungry. This is not the case, I can't help but feel like a failure. I try so hard to eat right but some days it just doesnt work. I do exercise sometime but If i don't see a difference in a couple of weeks I want to quit. When will the weight just start falling off like the dr said. I hear so many stories of people who don't even exercise and lose weight. I wish I was one of them. Let me know if you feel this way or have felt this way and how you managed to get out of this rut and out of the plateau stage. :cry

Do you drink with your meals?

I got into the bad habit of drinking with meals and now it is hard to stop. My dr said if I don't stop it is totally defeating the purpose of the band. I am trying to stop but it is really hard.

Feeling hopeless and like a failure

Gees, I cant' thank all of you enough for all of your kind word and encouragement. I guess I hadnt really looked at it as almost 2 lbs a week. I was just thinking about the fact that I havent really lost anything in the past 3 months. You guys are right I just have to get focused and quit throwing myself a pity party. I know I can do this and I am very happy that I lost 40 lbs so far. I guess I just needed someone else to tell me that I 'm not alone in this. Thanks for all the advice and all the motivation. I am starting over tomorrow. I will lose this weight eventually and at least I'm not gaining RIGHT??? Yeah,:clap2: let's do this fellow bandsters we are all in this together. I am truly grateful for having such a great family here on LBT.

    Kiss Splenda Good-Bye!!

I also saw it on the news. I didnt hear them say they were pulling it off of the shelf they did say that it has been reported by consumers that it has caused severe stomach pains and possible intestinal damage.

    Looking for November 2005 Banders!

Ok, I am sounding like a big baby right now:cry . I have lost 38 lbs as of Nov 7th when I was banded. At first I was really excited but right now I am so mad and sad I want to cry. I am always hungry and my band does not stop me from eating. I don't feel full and I hate it. I know this is a slow process but sometimes I feel like I will never reach goal. Have you felt this way? If so how did you handle it? I need some encouragement. I am at 2 cc's and have only lost 3 lbs since my last fill which was 1 month and half ago. Please help!
  11. Just wanted to see how everyone is doing. I was banded on November 7th and have not been here in a while with all the Holiday stuff going on and I went to mexico for about 10 days on vacation. I managed not to gain any weight but gained about 3 lbs when I came back. Holidays are the worst I have been eating a lil bit of everything. I had lost a total of 36 lbs and then gained back 3. Not too bad I guess. I am scheduled for my 1st fill on Jan 4th and I hope this will boost my weight loss. I am so excited with the 33 lbs I have lost. I am just checking in and want to know how everyone is doing whether it be success or hard times please reply and fill us on on how you are doing with you band. Overall I love my band it has helped me control my eating tremendously and a lil exercise does not hurst of course. I hope all of you guys are doing well and I can't wait to hear from you. Have a Happy New Year and I hope you succeed and accomplish all your new years resolutions.

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

Ok, its Monday and I'm checking in a little late. I weighed in this morning at 263 lbs :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: finally losing some weight again. I also scheduled another fill for this wednesday cause I am hungry alot of the time and i can eat a good 12 oz or more before I feel full. I joined a challenge at work and was put into a group of people also trying to lose weight so hopefully this will motivate me some more. I will continue to work out at least 5 days a week and limit my eating out to 1 time a week while making a healthy choice. Hope everyone is doing good and I'll talk to yall next monday.

    Not Losing Weight

Yes maam it is not going to be easy. I was banded on Nov 7th and I lost 30 lbs the 1st month. I have been fluctuating between 32 and 38 lbs since then. I lose then I gain. I have to admit though I have been no angel I have eaten the bad stuff quite a few times. But the good thing is that every day can be a new beginning if you mess up. Of coure you don't want to start over everyday but it is an option if you just simply have to. It is not easy because for me unlike some others, the weight does not just fall off. I work out at least 3 days a week and I think that is the only reason I have not gained all the weight back. But this week I started over I cooked my meal tonight for the next 3 days and I have a personal trainer for an hour 5 days a week at the gym. Don't be discouraged you will lose weight but it may take a little longer than others. So good luck and god bless and don't give up. I couldnt have lost these 30 lbs without my band and I'd rather the scale go down slowly than go up.

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

Ok, it's Monday and I am checking in. I am very dissppointed to say that I have gained 1.5 lbs so I am back where I started. I thought I was doing good. At some point last week I had lost 2.5 lbs and then I guess I got excited and started eating again. I ate Golden Coral on Sunday, Homemade flautas and mexican rice on Tuesday, On the Border on Wednesday for lunch and Cheddars on Wednesday night for dinner. Dickeys bar-b-que for lunch on friday andTaco Bueno and a piece of fish from Long Johns on Friday night and on Saturday I ate waaayyyy too much since it was my husbands birthday we went out to dinner again. So I ate out 4 days this week but a total of 6 times. Oh my god what was I doing.:help: I feel so bad and I am surprised I only gained 1.5 well I guess since I did work out very hard 4 days this week and did drink my water. Well today is Monday and I am starting over. I am taking on the challenge of working out 2 times in 1 day at least once this week. But I just get so hungry sometimes my tummy growls and I want food. Can anyone offer some advice please.

    What gives with first fills?

My first fill was 1.7 cc and I do feel restriction. Sometimes when I eat too much I feel like I am going to choke and I can't swallow anymore. I usually eat 10-12 oz of food 3 times a day.

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

Ok it's Monday and I am checking in. I lost 1.5 lbs since last Monday which puts me at 264.5. I have been drinking my water. And for the most part made healthier choice but I will do better on that this week because I ate out 2 times over the weekend and did not make good choices. I only worked out 3 days last week but I will do at least 4 this week. I am happy about the 1.5 I lost but would like to do better and be more committed. I hope everyone is doing well. And just remember if you mess up just start all over again. :thankyou:
  23. Mashed potatoes from KFC add a little water. And pintos w cheese from Taco Bueno add a little hot sauce. That is how I made it through. This too shall pass. I was where you are now. Don't worry it will get better.

    Boot Camp Lbt Style

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I exercised thurs, fri, sat, and monday. I did make better food choices and have been trying real hard to get my water in. I feel good about this. I don't know how to measure my inches so I didn't do that. Well I hope to have lost some weight by Monday. Everyone is doing great keep up the good work!

    please help

I was 300 lbs when banded on Nov 7th and have lost 35 lbs total. I had lost 30 in the first month and have pretty much fluctuated between 30 and 35 lbs in the past month. However I had not exercised from DEC 12 - last week because of going to mexico and the holidays I just did not make it a point to do so. However now I am back on track and working out at least 5 times a week for 30 mins even if it is just power walking hard enough to work up a sweat. I also do at least 48 oz of water a day sometimes a whole lot more. I also recently bought a scale to weight my food and hope to have much success with that. Hang in there the weight will come off you just have to be patient and make healthy choices.
