I didn't get the surgery for cosmetic reasons, but I'm still ridiculously happy when I put on an outfit and find that it's WAY too big. Donation box is already getting full. I didn't think 35 lbs would make that much of a difference, but it has.

4 weeks out. Still can only get about 2-3 oz of solid food in at a time, but have figured out the best ways to get a decent amount of calories and protein. Checkup today, we'll see if the stall has broken.

They reloaded the snack machine at my office, with THREE ROWS of jumbo honey buns. Am *SO* grateful for my sleeve and the loss of the cravings for that stuff. Part of my brain still responds, but the other part doesn't think that sounds as good as my key lime greek yogurt. LOL

Well, it *IS* soft, right?? LOL. No, even though I'm not low carb-ing, I am working on shifting the mindset to consider I have limited stomach room, and my food choices need to have decent nutritional value. While I used to crave them, and dream about them, there is nothing nutritionally redeeming about a honey bun. And I don't crave them anymore. If my hubby were eating one (but he doesn't like them) I might ask for a single bite. I've done that with some stuff he was eating that just sounded so yummy like pie the other night, and I'm satisfied with one bite of whatever it is. This is *SO* different from what the rest of my life has been, I don't have words for how wonderful it is!!!

Have definitely stalled. Not worried about the weight, but I know I need to get my protein and calories up a bit from what I've been managing.

I found out just now that I have zero tolerance for food that doesn't taste good. Used to be if something was "eh" I would go ahead and eat it. Now, I have a certain amount of sleeve space, and I'm not giving it up for food that isn't pretty darned good.

Yeah, and their pitas looked like they came right off the grocery shelves in the bags. I tasted one, and it was meh. I'd expect a place that does exclusively pitas to make their own or be supplied by a fresh bakery. It was a disappointment. And as soon as the few bites I took settle, I'm going to get some yummy yogurt since I didn't eat enough for an actual meal.

I think I'm in a small stall. I haven't been on the scale every day, just every once in a while out of curiosity. I'm not stressing about it, but I haven't lost any for about 5 days now. I'm sure it will pick up again once I can get more than 600 cal a day. I am still loving this, having the emotional food thoughts so clearly separated from the physical is really eye-opening.

Three day weekends are just long enough to get your schedule all discombobulated but not long enough to truly feel rested. At any rate, I'm getting back on the exercise bandwagon today. Solid (soft) foods are going down fine, but I don't think I'm getting enough protein or calories yet, and I keep forgetting to track. Need to do better.

Dagnabbit! I always have to hunt for the freaking ignore button.

2 week checkup today... cleared for pureed AND soft foods... Doc thinks everything looks good. Down 17 lbs since surgery day; 30 lbs from highest weight. Clothes are starting to get a little looser, wedding band still fits. Will feel SO much better in a couple of days with real food.

Back in the office today, routine seems to be helping me get fluids in better. Should be cleared for mushies on Wed, looking forward to some refried beans with cheese!!

@MrsSugarbabe - I am back to full days. I am in IT so it's not a physical job. I worked all last week from home for comfort and the ability to lie down or take a break as needed. My department has partial work from home, I am in the office MWF and work from home TTh. They just started that the week before my surgery, so it's going to help me transition back.

I had sleeve surgery. I worked my tool and was successful with it. I just learned that this ridiculousness on my part makes me a "sleeve groupie".

I am so hella sick of protein shakes. Having to force myself to drink them to get my protein, as the powder makes pre-made pudding and yogurt taste funny. Won't get cleared for puree/soft until Wed afternoon. I'll get through this, but last night I seriously wanted to suck the salt off of a cracker my hubby was eating. LOL. Chew and spit makes more sense in my head now. LOL

Well, missed my fluid/protein goals yesterday. Hit a point where I just didn't want to drink anymore. I'm definitely running a fluid deficit and need to re-commit today to get my upper goal in. Am swallowing almost normal now, so there's really no excuse. And I'm SUPER glad I decided to work from home this first week post-op. I'd have had to call in sick today if I'd had to face getting into business dress and doing my hair/makeup. LOL.

My stalker is back!! And here I thought she'd taken a clue. She loves me. <3

six month check up went well. NP and NUT are pleased with my progress and choices. Watching as the labs come in now - the WBC is still high, but down a whole number, so I am happy about that.

six month surgiversary - what a wild ride!

some time ago I had posted an NSV where a ring my husband gave me on our 10th anniversary finally fit again. Now I can wear it on the right hand. it is a thick ring (a picture in my gallery I think). 6 months ago I couldn't wear it at all. I am so pleased.

5 days to go... am starting to get a little more nervous. Not about the surgery, I've had several (though no abdominal). Just the whole "new life" thing. It's going to be great!

LipstickLady, that's what I'm hoping for. My therapist and I are going to use the post-op diet progression to try to retrain my brain and taste buds in a slightly odd re-parenting/re-feeding experience. I'd love to be able to enjoy new food including vegetables and experience lots of flavors without gagging.
