  1. Ugh. Hate being sick over holidays. This cold can go suck it.

I am right there with you! Get well soon! I guess I can be thankful that I got it now and not a few days before my surgery in January. I have some time to recover. I hate being sick though and it happens so rarely these days. I think this might be the first cold I have had in 2.5 years since my surgery.

  2. Ugh. Hurting worse today. This is what I was afraid of with strength training - if I overdo just a bit, it starts inflammation up which causes arthritis flare. Have another trainer session tonight, I'll go ahead and go because we're going to have to work together to keep forward momentum without overdoing it. Not taking any Advil because also have rheumy appointment today and they'll draw blood, don't want the factors to show low because of NSAIDs. :(

If you can find a salt water pool, any money you may have to pay extra is well worth it. I did all of my PT and exercising in such a pool. It was wonderfully free feeling and effective.

Valentina, I'm lucky to find an indoor pool within 15 miles, period. :)

Living in the Catskills, I know what you're talk'n about. I have to drive 80 miles to reach the salt water PT pool, but I do it because I feel I can do more and feel better when I do. With my Fibro, OA, RA, and DJD, I consider my pool time as my treat to myself. Good luck with your exercise program. Be kind to yourself as well as "work'n it". :)

Great time for a simple cup of tea and a sizzling hot novel. Can't hurt. :)

I second Valentina's suggestion. I have this problem every month before shark week. :P

  4. Uploaded progress photos to my gallery last night. I still think I look like crap in a sports bra and bike shorts, but I am seeing a definite change. :)

Yeah... I'm down to the point that I have to hit a resale shop or something, Virtually every top I have is almost ridiculously huge. I'm lucky that I hung onto pants/jeans because I've always been AWFUL to fit in pants... VERY curvy with a HUGE difference between hips and waist, in addition to being tall. So I'm set probably until I get pretty close to goal for bottoms, but tops are much more of an issue than I'd thought they'd be. LOL. I HATE clothes shopping. But right now I have almost no clue what size I'm wearing or what will look good on me, so I guess it's to the shops I go. :D

  6. Waking up with a migraine sucks. Meds help, but then there's the "migraine hangover". So I didn't make it to the pool this morning, but I'm going to try to go after work.

Oh, I'm sorry. I used to have terrible migraines and I know the 'hangover' well. I hope the rest of your day is better :)

  7. Weather front came in last night, woke up with a migraine. Thank goodness for a work from home agreement. Just now getting started on my workday. :/

Yeah. I've been bad about drinking my water the last couple of days and it's catching up with me. I guess one good thing about migraines is they let me know when I'm not eating and drinking enough before it reaches a level where I need medical intervention. (Yes, I'm a silver lining kind of person! LOL)

  8. Weekends should be a minimum of 3 days. Just sayin'. Have my RA/PsA in a flare from the workouts last week. :( Chiro appt tonight, going to try for the pool tomorrow.

I love my chiro and swim time! (all these companies "talk" about work - life balance, but no one wants to give a longer weekend.........)

  9. Well, missed my fluid/protein goals yesterday. Hit a point where I just didn't want to drink anymore. I'm definitely running a fluid deficit and need to re-commit today to get my upper goal in. Am swallowing almost normal now, so there's really no excuse. And I'm SUPER glad I decided to work from home this first week post-op. I'd have had to call in sick today if I'd had to face getting into business dress and doing my hair/makeup. LOL.

You will totally get the hang of it in a weeks or three. I drank a lot of 50/50 water Gatorade (not G2! blech!!). I couldn't drink plain water at all. I also poured my protein drinks over 20oz of crushed ice. It made them MUCH more palatable and I got in an extra 20oz of water.

    2. theantichick

      theantichick

Yeah, I mixed it up today because I feel like I'm coming down with a cold... drank some chicken bouillon and that really did the trick... sucked down 8oz of that in about 30 min, and then turned around and sucked down another 8 oz of water in the next 30 min. Guess I either needed something hot, needed the salt, or needed something different. :) So I'll hit my goal today for fluid, no problem. I was starting to get mildly dehydrated, so it's good timing. :D

I totally get the needing to change things up with warm and cold, sweet and savory. For me it is the only way to get it all in.

Glad you are doing so well. Congratulations!

  10. Woohoo! Scale is moving again, and I'm comfortably in jeans I haven't worn in 17 years.

  11. worked out with trainer for the first time yesterday. This morning my "good" knee is twinging and my abdominal muscles are saying "WTF, lady?" LOL

Do you wear a stabilizer? My girls and I have to when we practice martial arts and do our kickboxing class. It's a huge help.

    2. theantichick

      theantichick

I haven't been, but I probably should until I get the stabilizer muscles built back up.

  12. Yep... Size 20 jeans have to go in the "give-away box". I started this process in 24's.

I'll never see single digit clothing sizes. When I was my thinnest in college (which has never been a sustainable weight for me) I was in a 10 jean. I'll be happy to get back to a 16 and beyond thrilled to get to a 12-14.
