  1. I'm with you guys on the fill. Since having the partial unfill due to reflux, I've managed to lose about 8 pounds and I'm thinking Leslie won't give me one, but my appt. is not until the 8th of Sept., so we'll see. Like Mia and Leslie, my band has a mind of it's own. One day I can hardly eat and the next, it's a free-for-all!
  2. ...........because I'm soooo very close to my first 60lb. goal. .8lbs to go! Then it's off to the second leg of the race! I do love my band!
  3. .....because I'm so close to my first mini-goal of a 60lb. loss!
  4. Nip-Congratulations on your weightloss! In all honesty, I think you are closer to a 12 than 14!!! You continue to be my 'lapband heroin'!
  5. Count Me in Too! Had to get partial unfill due to reflux and need to lose 8 pounds this month! Today- 50 mins. treadmill
  6. Georgia-Thanks for the recipe. It sounds delicious. I'm going to try it this weekend!
  7. Georgia-Hopefully this fill will be the one to get you to the 100lb. mark by your bandiversary! What's the process if you have a leak? Can it be repaired or does your band have to be replaced? Nip-Glad to hear from you. I tell all of my friends and family of your progress all the time! Ally-Congrats on your NSV!! I've stopped relying on the scales for my true progress. It was driving me nuts. Funny thing is, I've weighed less in the past and wore larger sizes!!! So the inches make all the difference. Keep up the good work! And I hope you feel better soon.
  8. Hello Everyone-it's good to know that you all are doing well. Like Jeannie, I've been lurking but not posting much lately. Bagweaver-Hang in there! You will find that 'sweet-spot' soon. I had to get an unfill a couple of weeks ago because I've developed acid reflux. The funny thing is that I never had problems with reflux prior to being banded. I had an irritated esophogus, therefore, making my voice hoarse. And all the while I just thought it was sinus drainage. Had one slight unfill for sinuses, then had to have a larger one for reflux. I've been taking Prilosec. Luckily I've managed to maintain my weightloss, but am so ready for another fill. Though Leslie did warn that I would have to get adjusted at a much slower rate. Thank God I'm able to exercise! I hope everyone continues to do well on this journey! I simply adore my band!
  9. Hello Everyone!! I'm from South Georgia! Good to meet you.
  10. I'm staying on plan because I'm between sizes and have only two pair of pants that fit the way I want!!! I'm ready to shop!!!
  11. Fivebyfive- Good for you. I agree whole-heartedly with your doctor! I started with the low-carb approach and was simply miserable. Then I just stopped thinking about it all so much, made healthier choices, increased my activity and fluids and now it all just seems like second nature. Be patient. Afterall, a two pound loss is better than a gain, right? You can do this!
  12. Brandymom-Good for you! Who knew that being hassled would ever feel so good? Congrats!!!
  13. I'm staying on plan today because I gave in to my cheetos addiction yesterday!!! Really bad.....
  14. I'm staying on plan today becaue I just returned from a week long conference, ate like crap, and still lost 4 pounds!!!! I love my band....
  15. Nymoosic-I feel for you, as I can honestly say that I share in your distress, literally! I had to have an unfill due to acid reflux, and though it was a partial unfill, it has made a huge difference and I'm struggling to control my appetite as well. I'm increasing my exercise to compensate. I say do whatever you can to get a portion of your fill back ASAP!! My doctor said that when you reach a certain level, it's a very thin line between "sweet spot" and "overfill". So perhaps, 1cc would put you at the right spot to meet your nutritional needs as well as control your portions. Good luck!
  16. I'm staying on plan tomorrow because I didn't today- and because I had to get a .25cc unfill due to reflux and I want to continue to lose....not gain!!!
  17. Leslie-Good luck with finding your sweet spot. It's such a fine line when you reach a certain level. Georgia-You are simply gorgeous. Saw your picture on the before & after thread. You go girl!!
  18. I'm staying on plan today because after a three week plateau, I've finally passed my 50lb. goal before my 6 month bandiversary!!! Thank God! I was beginning to develop some type of anxiety disorder......
  19. Auntlucy-Thank you for the beautiful prayer. You are truly a Godsend.
  20. This is a wonderful thread...... Please join me in prayer for a renewed dedication to my new, healthier lifestyle. Lately I've just been somewhat depressed and haven't felt as dedicated. The 18th will be my 6 month bandiversary, and I really wanted to be further along than a 50lb. loss!!! Granted, I've never lost this much weight in 6 months before, and remain eternally grateful; yet somewhat saddened as though I've let myself down. I hope this makes sense. God bless.
  21. Nip-That sounds like a blast!! Congrats on the NSV! I can only imagine how good it felt to be an active part of the festivities! You continue to be my inspiration!!!
  22. I really haven't been a fan of fiber supplements until recently. I've been using the Fibersure, clear fiber made by Metamucil, and I absolutely love it! The regular Metamucil is way to thick for me. The key is to drink lots of fluids. I use two scoops in my morning coffee/tea and it has been a Godsend.
  23. I have tried about ten and they all taste like flavored dirt to me, however, I do love the low-carb slim-fast. It has 20 grams of protein!!
  24. Nip; Thanks for the information. I'll give them a call. I just want to get some idea now, as I know that my insurance won't cover it either. They have an exclusion on cosmetic surgery. My friend works with the public school system and she had gastric bypass. Her coverage did pay for the removal of the skin, but not the tuck, where the abdominal muscles are tightened. She paid the difference. But that was nearly five years ago and I don't know what the state's coverage is like at this point. She used a doctor in Atlanta, that has now moved her practice to Virginia.
  25. I was wondering if anyone had researched plastic surgeons at this point. I know that it's recommended to wait at least a year after WLS to give the skin a chance to tighten, but I'm not really all that patient and with just this small loss, things are headed south!!! I can't begin to imagine what it will be like a year from now. So if anyone has done a consult and knows approximate costs for tummy-tuck and breast lift, please share.
