I used to have a nice 'shelf' on which to put the remote on while in the recliner. It would stay put nicely. Now it rolls off.... I guess Ill just have to set it on the side table....

That stinks... Sorry to hear it. Im kinda surprised that the doc is treating this as a new procedure. When I had a hip replacement about 4 years ago I got a post surgery infection that caused the doc to take me back to surgery and deal with it. Full OR, anesthesia... the whole works. No approval required, no bill received... no nothing. How long has your request been in to BCBS? Dont they commit to a turnaround time? I had an unfill today. Sick as a dog last night. Too tight. Doc removed 1cc.

I think I may be about to join you in the unfill club.... Doc added 3.5cc on Monday and ive had several episodes of significant discomfort, PB's and sliming when I eat. Tonight I had a hamburger patty and man oh man do I feel terrible. Have thrown up 4 times and am sliming to beat the band.

Big difference? For me... no. First fill did pretty much nothing. Just had second fill today. He put in quite a bit so Im betting I will really feel it this time. I dont believe the question really has a 'correct' answer. How it effects YOU really depends on many factors such as size of the band, how much gets put in, how much was in it from surgery, size of your anatomy etc etc. The actual fill was simple and pretty much painless.... but also, your mileage may vary. -

Month 2 starts in just a few days!!!!! -
She surely does... I get home from work and she starts following me around and begging. I will send the clinic an email and see if they will move me up a bit. Thanks for planting the seed.

Im envious... Ive had one fill but have no restriction. I can still eat waaaay too much. I hope my second fill improves the situation. I bet the pug is gonna enjoy this new development. My dog is loving the long walks she gets now.
-
I seem to have hit a plateau also. Barely 1 pound last week. Weigh in is tomorrow morning (I 'officially' weigh myself once a week at the gym). Fingers are crossed.... wanna bust thru this roadblock. Anxiously awaiting the second fill too... I need some restriction!
-
Dang... that terrible. Did they give you reasoning as to why its flipped? I'd make sure they gave you a fill while they are at it... :crying:
-
Name: Don Date you were banded: April 3, 2008 Weight loss to date: 48 pounds How are you feeling? Feel Great. First fill on 5/12 didnt bring restriction though. Awaiting second fill in Jun.
-
You should feel fine. I walked out of the room and right back to work after my first fill. Nothing to it....

The largest one I take is AllegraD. Its about 3/4 inch long, 1/4 inch wide and 3/8 inch thick. I restarted my pills the day after surgery. Coumadin (round about 1/4"), Lisinopril (oval about 3/8" x 1/4"), Voltaren (round about 3/8") and the aforementioned AllegraD. I still use the chewable Vitamin.... no sense throwing them away but will switch to regular pills once they are gone.
-
Yes. I take all my meds as pills. They required a chewable multi for the first 3 weeks but that has been lifted now too. After surgery, I went right back on all my pills. When is/was your surgery?
-
Had my first fill today. Went fine. Piece 'o cake.... (probably a bad choice of words considering I now want a piece o cake  ). No numbing required. Doc said the numbing hurt worse than just doing it and made it harder for him to find the port due to the swelling from the lidocane. It was a big 'ole nasty looking needle but I had to ask if he already had it in because I truly didnt feel a thing. No worries folks...

Mine is Monday morning. 5/12.

I thought the same thing at first... water or even worse lean body weight loss. However, my doc has one of those scales with sensors that measures fat weight, water weight and lean weight in addition to overall weight. The scale showed that it was mostly fat mass that was gone. I was a happy camper. Cant weight (lol) to get on that thing next monday before my fill appt and see what it has to say.

There is no air in the band so nothing to expand with altitude. Water (saline) isnt going to expand or contract with pressure.
-
Glad to hear it.... I was wondering how they did it. My first fill is Monday 5/12. Kinda sad to hear that I might have to go back to liquids as Im really enjoying the mushie freedom.
