Thank the good lord I did not tell too many people.
My weight loss has been dreadfully slow and I feel like a failure around those I have told.
-
Just as an FYI - for anyone who uses him... Dr. Gonzales is not doing in office fills any more. Everyone has to be scheduled under flouroscopy at the hospital.
I got my fill r/s! I was looking forward to it. Goodness knows I need it.
-
Hey Ladies - I cannot come this Saturday. Bummer. Joe (dh) is studying for the CPA - and I cannot leave him with the boys.
I will miss you!!!
-
Welcome back.
I am a slow loser. Boo hiss. It is my fault. I am not eating like a bandster because I do not have too. That is the problem. I am not using my tool like I should.
I hope your fill helps. I think I will get another next week.
-
Okay - I am going to try and make it. My husband is studying for the CPA - so he might freak out if I tell him I will be gone all day ('cause if I drive that far... I gotta do Concord Mills).
I will throw my hat into the weight loss ring and try to match Melissa with 6 pounds. Lord knows I need a challenge.
-
I felt nothing at 2 cc... I would not worry about a leak!!!
-
I am loving you guys.
Nice to know we can fill up the scale-oholics meeting effortlessly.
:-0)
I managed to NOT weigh on Friday... or Sunday... or this morning, but I weighed last night and did not like the number.
I am going to try to wean myself to every-other-day.
-
I think I am beating my band too. I ate almost an entire taco salad yesterday for lunch... and stopped because I decided it was too much.. not because I had to. However, 6 months ago I would have eaten the entire thing, added some more chips and wondered when the fried icecream was coming.
Babysteps.

Just called BCBS yesterday - because we changed insurance. They do NOT pay for Lapband... but they DO pay for Gastric Bypass.
I paid out of pocket in Mexico -- but I was hoping that my new insurance might pay for fills.
NOT!!!

We have a housewarming to attend on Saturday! I will miss you guys. I REALLY wanted to come!!!!
-
My name is Sherrie and I am addicted to weighing myself.
I do it all the freakin' time. I do it first thing in the morning... at night after dinner to see how much my food intake weighed... at night before bed - usually before and after I have peed. It is crazy.
I red an article in Time that said you should weigh no more than 1 time per week.
I wish someone would hide the darn thing, but my husband has the obession too and he is not willing to part with it.
-
Sorry ladies.... I have a house warming party for a great friend this Saturday. I am almost 2 hours away ... so I can't do both :-(
-
Hmmm.... here is what I have eaten today.
1 packet of weight control banana bread oatmeal
about 15 almonds
roast beef off of sandwhich along with the cheese
small bag of potato chips and a small cookie
Can you say .... GET A GRIP!!!!
Good news: 5 months ago I would have eaten three times that and still rooted around for more.
Bad news: Not losing weight.
Worse news: Foot issues preventing me from walking.
Better news: Found new 24 hour access work out place that has bikes with big butts. May try free 1 wk membership.
Luv y'all.....

Hey to the new Sherry!
I use Dr. Gonzales also. I really like him. He will NOT look at you funny. He is very down to earth. He should take you without a problem.
Just like Kathy says = that is how he does the fills.
His fills are $250 without flouro.
Good luck!!!!

Yeah - I have 3 cc in the 4 cc band!
-
I got my second fill Thursday and I went from 2 cc's up to 3 cc's in a 4 cc band. I was worried at first - but I guess we are all different!!
I can eat just fine.
-
Hey guys - I had my second fill on Thursday, December 22nd. According to Dr. Gonzales, I now have 3 cc's in the band. I was surprised.
I can eat just fine. I fill up. I could not finish a kids meal at Chick-fil-a. I have no perspective. I guess that is good :-)
I have avoided steak and other things that are supposed to be problematic.
I at too much at Christmas dinner and had my first PB incident. It was not too bad - just a bit - but a sure sign to knock it off.
Hope your holidays were fantastic!!!!
-
Hey... it feels like my port is sideways. Has this happened to anyone and did it interfere with your fills?
-
-
Hi ladies. I have been quite busy with work, kids and Christmas - buying a new car... the list goes on.
Sorry I have not been around. I miss y'all!
I am getting my second fill tomorrow - thank goodness - because I have no restriction!
Cross your fingers for me!
-
I have 2 cc and no restriction. Going in Thursday for #2 - we are all put together different!!!
-
I started with 2.0 (4 cc band too). I have very little if any restriction. I am 5'9 and the doc said that taller women usually need more. I guess I need more :-) I have made an appt for 12/22 for my next fill which will be 5 weeks after the 1st.
-
I am right there with you. I really do not feel much at all after my first fill of 2 cc. Actually, I feel more now (12 days later) than I did right after. I have been told to wait at least 6 weeks before I get another.
I am going to wait... and go with the idea that this is a process, and I did not get fat over night. No matter how tight I am, I will not be able to wake up tomorrow a size 8.
Do not get discouraged - look on the bright side... you got to eat some good food for Thanksgiving :-) You can also be thankful that you are on the banded side of things - and it will only get better from here.
Good luck... we will hang in there together!!!
-
Thanks for all the comments and well-wishes!
I am kinda bummed out - I really don't feel much restriction, but I am telling myself that this is a slow process that with time and patience, I will acheive the perfect fit.
I was glad to hear there can be a big difference between 2cc and 2.2 ccs!!
How long do y'all think I should wait before going back?
He said 6-8 weeks when I was there - but now, since I do not have much restriction I would like to go sooner.
NC need first fill ASAP!! HELP

I am back!!!! lol
Dr. Gonzales in Winston Salem charges $325. He does it at Forsythe Memorial. They turn around and charge you $200 for the flouro - but they will bill your insurance company.
Dr. G ruptured a port in the office.
He also told me that a lot of people with high BMIs were getting banded in Mexico and ports were getting harder and harder to find.
Good luck.
I need another fill....
