3rd week post op diet and feeling weak

Thanks Lexy! Looks like you're doing great as well. Tell me, are you eating about the same amount that I'm eating? I wonder if I should be eating more.
  2. I'm now 5 day spost op and am still feeling quite weak and shaky. Just taking a shower and doing my makeup exhausts me. Is this normal? How long does this last? I want to start doing things again but just dont' have the energy. I'm drinking 2 protein shakes a day and eating my cream of wheat twice a day. I am losing weight and am happy with that but gee, I'd like some energy as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :rolleyes2:

    Post-op pain... HELP

I way banded may 19th and just 30 minutes ago I got out of bed and said to my husband that I feel like I have a huge burp that needs to come out but just won't. I told him I'm worried that I'm going to have this uncomfortable stomach feeling for the rest of my life. He told me to come online and see what other are saying and sure enough, here is your post. So, I guess we are both feeling what is considered normal and that it's just gas. I plan on doing some walking today with the hubby and maybe that will help. It seems I feel this way in the morning when waking and it gets better during the day.
  4. Last night was my first night home from the hospital and I woke with chills and a fever of 99.5. I called my doc this morning and was told that it is common and that unless it's 101.5, I should worry. Has anybody else had this post op and was it considered normal. I'm paranoid about having an infection.
  5. of drinking anything. I know I need to get water in and now suppose to start protien shakes but the thought just gags me. How the heck do you get the water and shakes in when you feel so gaggy? Reminds me of being preggers.
  6. Well I've joined the group as a brand spanking new bandster. The surgery went well but I did have problems with dry heaves. I also have had a nasty headache which I think might be caused from the anesthesia. I'm not on any pain med's because they tend to give me headaches as well. Anybody else deal with post-op headaches? I'm just happy to done with this and home in my own bed. I have tenderness but am not in any real pain. If I lay down, I feel no pain at all. I"m on the clear liquid diet part and have to say I am a little hungry for real food but I suppose that will go away with time. All in all, I'd say it was a fairly simple procedure. The 6 months prior was the hard part.:cursing:

    Just Banded Yesterday...few questions

yep, the caffiene withdrawal is a possiblity as well as going off my estrace and going off sugar. I just hope this doesn't last too long. I'm guessing it won't. Thanks for the response.
  8. I was wondering if all those who've been losing since having surgery can list between 5 and 10 things that have changed for the positive. Can be any changes whether physical or mental. My surgery is monday afternoon (19th) and I need to get really psyched this weekend.....Thanks!!

    Newly Banded May 13th

Hey Diane..Glad to hear your doing well after surgery. Mine is monday afternoon...woohoo!! By the way, one of my sons was born at Alexian Brothers hospital 28 yrs ago. Another was born at NW community and yet another in Hoffman Estates (forget the name of that hosp)..I no longer live in the chicago area but did for many years. Again, glad to hear your surgery went well!!

    Let's Potty Talk!!

I'm getting closer to my surgery date (may 19) and I have tons of questions. I have learned a lot from these boards but a subject that is not discussed much (for obvious reasons) are bathroom habits. I'm curious as to how your BM's change after having surgery. Obviously you are eating less so you should be going less....right? What is the average number of times per day? Are you more constipated? Is there no change at all? I really would like to know what to expect in that department. While we're on the subject, how about bladder control problems..Does that get better with the weight off? Ok, I've done it and it wasn't as embarrasing to ask as I thought. Now let's see who's gutsy enough to answer.

    Fast Cigna Approval

WooHoo, Cigna has approved me on my first try. My paperwork was submitted on a monday and it was approved 10 days later. I was very careful about making sure I had exactly what they needed and I think that's what sped things along. I really was expecting a hassle but was pleasantly suprised.

    Flabby Skin at our age??

I'm brand spankin' new to this forum as I'm still a few months away from my surgery but i do have questions and LOT'S of them. One questions is how do you all feel about your loose flabby skin at this age? I'm expecting I'll have lots of it (I need to lose about 130 lbs) and wonder if I'll be bummed at the excess skin. I'm not one to have surgery unless it's really needed and I doubt I'll ever have a tummy tuck. Is it hard to accept this excess skin? :confused5:
  18. Hi ya'll....My doc has advised me to go off my estrace two weeks prior to my surgery...YIKES!!! :crying: I've been on it for 10 yrs due to a total hysterectomy and can't imagine one day without it. I know if I miss one day I start getting clammy and I get a headache. Did any of you guys stay on your estrace for the surgery? I had two knees replaced and didn't have to go off. I'm really worried about how I'll feel going off the estrace. HELP!!!
  19. I just saw that ABC news on now EST is going to discuss surgery to treat Diabetes. Wonder if they are going to discuss Bariatric Surgery...check it out!
  20. I was wondering how many of you out there have had problem with your feet and pain and if so, does it get better after you start to lose? For me, the worst part of being overweight has always been the foot pain. I am not a diabetic but suffer from some neuropathy and occasional bouts of plantar fasciitis. I just need to hear that there will be some relief from these aches and pains. PLEASE????:girl_hug:
