  1. I have been discussing this with my therapist for a while and I really don't want to tell my coworkers but I am going to. Drastic weight loss coupled with time off from work..doesn't take an Eisenstein to figure it out. I initially just wanted to tell my boss i needed off for one week (with no explanation) but then what if I need more time? Also considering my profession my coworkers are going to need to cover for me while I'm gone. I'm a private person. It's killing me I have to tell them but I figure it will come out sooner or later. I don't know if they will be supportive or not, i feel like they may be with the exception of two coworkers. I know once I tell them it will spread like wildfire but I will be asking for them to keep it confidential. Fat chance that will happen though. Outside of work, I have told two people.

I agree about being gone from work soo long may have ppl question. But I actually told a little white lie. I'm also having a major hernia repair. So that's exactly what I told my job I'm having done. They don't need any further info. lol

Lol I said the same thing!!! It's true they are going to repair my hiatal hernia but do a lil extra work ????. I feel its no ones business but my own. I told close family and a couple of friends. I'm not required to do a supervised diet but I'm starting one now. Mostly cause I'm freaking out about hair loss. My surgery will be in April or May so I'll just let them assume weight loss is from my current diet.

  2. Everything you said was so on point with me. My biggest dream is to travel and doing this surgery will help me see the world. I'm not telling many people either. My family and a few close friends. It is my journey and I don't need to worry about judgments.

I have been looking at all the before and after pictures and I can't wait to wear cute clothes!!!!!!!

  3. In high school I was very active. I was on the school's dance team and worked out constantly. Then I went to college and met my future ex-husband. I've always been a people pleaser and put everyone ahead of me. My relationship with my ex was toxic from the beginning. I lost many friends because they couldn't support the relationship. I put him first for 11 years. He was very controlling. I didn't realize it, but I was losing my identity trying to make sure he was happy. I had to constantly ask him for permission to do anything.

I lost motivation. And most importantly, I lost what made me "me".

My divorce was finalized last spring and I feel like my life has started. Before I hid in my house to afraid to leave and relied on food to comfort me. Now I want more than anything to be out of my house. Be active. Im so excited for this next chapter.

  4. 1 cup Almond milk, 1 scoop chocolate Protein powder, tablespoon of Protein rich Peanut Butter, half a frozen banana, and some ice cubes. Tastes like a Reese's Cup and 30+ grams of protein depending on type of powder and Peanut Butter.< /p>

1 cup almond milk, half a cup greek yogurt, mandarin orange, vanilla Protein Powder, table spoon sugar free whip cream and ice. Tastes like a creamsicle and again 30+ grams of protein possible.

These shakes have more calories than the recommended but will get you going and over the "yuck" feeling. Just eat light between and it will balance out. Of course someone will say talk to the nutritionist and that's fine just an option.

Copying these recipes!! I have yet to find a Protein shake I like so I'm willing to keep looking! Thanks ????

  5. I'm happy to have found this site, cause I'm going crazy with all the questions in my head. I just started my program and getting all my appointments scheduled. It's becoming more real with each new appointment (dietician, surgeon, cardio, pulmonary etc). My insurance has approved the surgery and I'm looking at an April/May surgery. My doctor will discuss which surgery is best for me after all the results are reviewed.

I'm looking forward to reading all the forum posts.
