  1. Leftover gnocchi (the pack yields more portion than I estimated) over zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, vegan ground beef and tomato sauce. Self-made cashewsan (still tastes good after several days in the fridge).
  2. Made apple crumble cake again. Added a plum to it that had to go. I also used a bit of another protein powder. Same ingredients as protein oatmeal (oats or spelt, protein powder, almond butter, apples, spices, a bit of water, maybe some raisins). Feels more satisfying and decadent though.
  3. Take a step back and re-evaluate the whole situation from a different point of view. When you think about what you've learnt about weight loss, nutrition etc. - do you make any sense right now? What would you tell a close friend if he/she would tell you this? What I experienced after my surgeries for the first few weeks was a feeling of pressure in the region directly under the xiphoid before my brain switched back to a "normal kind of feeling full". Do you experience this bit of pressure in a pretty located area in the epigastric area? Take your time to feel it. You might only be able to feel it in a standing position. Don't give too much about what you're reading on the interwebz or what other people might have told you. Many things have to be taken with a grain of salt or at least with a bit of caution. Comparing yourself (or your own experiences) to others only contributes to raising your anxiety levels as you've already noticed. In the end you are you and not someone else. If it's any solace to you: I never experienced this "being full after 2-4 bites" as well and I'm a normal weight since a whole while now. A certain level of anxiety ist pretty normal. After all we don't want to do anything "wrong". "Last chance", "if this doesn't work out I'm doomed to be fat", "end of the road" and blahblahblah... Depending on how strong your fear is you might benefit from talking to your dietician. Reason should tell you that eating an amount of 3 bites a meal and 425 kcal a day is non-sustainable starvation for any human being on this planet and that weight loss isn't linear and yet you're experiencing fear and pressure that you might be eating too much. If nobody ever told you about this "feeling overly full after 4 bites" or "even having trouble hitting 600 cals a day" or how much weight other patients lost within the first few months or something like that - would you still feeling afraid and experience this level of anxiety? Or would you be happy with your results and restriction level? You're most likely being afraid because you're comparing yourself to others and therefore expecting certain things, not because of hard facts. It almost always boils down to comparing yourself with others.
  4. Skyr with a salad spice mix, cucumber and red bell pepper.
  5. Gnocchi, mock gyros meat, red onions, yellow bell pepper, brown mushrooms, yoghurt.
  6. Chunky monkey protein ice cream.
  7. "Schnitzel" sandwich. Had a little glass of white wine before. First alcohol since our last vacation in September. Meh, it hit strong, lol. Yes, my 24 h shift was hell...
  8. I used CRON-O-Meter for a while. Most detailed tracker out there. You don't need an app with a "bariatric focus".
  9. Vegan protein Toasties (I guess you'd call them "English muffins", at least it's a look-alike). Saw them at REWE yesterday. Also whole wheat tortillas. They're hard to find in Germany.
  10. How are you doing?
  11. Interesting. Didn't notice anything special during that time span. After about 1 to 1.5 years I didn't notice any changes anymore for me regarding portion sizes or appetite/hunger.
  12. What's the reasoning behind this, like what makes the 2nd to 3rd year that special?
  13. Don't overmix it. Otherwise you're going to get some kind of paste. Just like two seconds or so.
  14. I also steamed some broccoli and mushrooms in the microwave. Together with a sweet & sour sauce it's going to be part of lunch tomorrow. Looks pretty boring in that plastic container.
  15. Rest of the bean pasta. Rest of yellow curry paste (will switch to either red or green vor variety next) with coconut milk and mock chicken pieces. Vegetables are: broad green beans, broccoli, brown mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms. Will eat that tomorrow with fresh cooked rice.
  16. I used 110 g cashews (the recipe calls for 150 g but I only had 110 g available) but the idea that it might work out fine anyway without having to adapt the rest of the recipe was a good one since I like it heavy on the nooch. 110 g cashews 4 tbs nutritional yeast (different brands have a different taste so you might have to find your favorite first) 0.5 tsp onion powder 0.5 tsp garlic powder 0.5 tsp salt Throw everything together and swirl through a blender for a few seconds. --- There are different recipes out there. Some only call for garlic powder and salt, some for both garlic and onion powder.
  17. This is a really awesome spice mix:
  18. Green beans, two sorts of mushrooms, red onion and mock minced meat in a soy cuisine sauce over black bean spaghetti.
  19. Self-made vegan parmesan substitute. Tastes awesome. I'm pleasantly surprised. So much cheaper than the store-bought stuff!
  20. You think that you "could be doing more"? What do you have in mind when it comes to that feeling? Having WLS shouldn't make you feel like a fraud. It's a surgical therapy, not "cheating" in any way. However, when it comes to being asked how you lost the weight and you decide to give people the "healthy choices" speech and casually gloss over the fact that you had WLS - well, IMO that'd be another story.
  21. Black bean spaghetti, rucola, oyster mushrooms, red onions, cherry tomatoes, tomato sauce and soy cuisine.
  22. So it's me nuking food again. A simple one, but it'll be a keeper. Red cabbage with sweet & sour sauce and a dash of cinnamon and salt.
  23. Apple cinnamon protein oatmeal with dried sour cherries and dark almond butter.
