  1. Hey all :) I'm getting gastric sleeve on August 1st! Very excited, getting nervous. Pre-op appointment is this Friday where they'll tell me when to start my liquid diet, etc.

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know that based on another thread, I've just created a Facebook support group for those of us in August, so that we can keep in touch and cheer each other on :) You'll just need to search on facebook to join - it's called "BP August 2016". It's a closed group so that we can be found by search, but all posts are private.

I hope you join! I think it will be a lot easier to keep in touch this way and connect :)

Best of luck to everyone! ♡

My FB name is NieshaBrowneyes and I would like to be in this group please

I have searched on FB and I can not find it. ☹️

  2. My surgery is set for August 24th and my on and off boyfriend is concerned that I will no longer be interested in being in a relationship. He thinks that I will get too Skinny and Not want to be with him anymore. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks

    Blessings

  3. So I set my surgery date for Aug 23...aaahhhhh. I'm excited but i also feel this incredible sense of trepidation...and a little like a failure. I've just tried to diet over and over and over...i feel like i'm throwing in the towel but I know i'm mentally ready. Please tell me these feelings are normal.

My date is August 24th and I have been having some of the same feelings. I am however looking at the bigger picture here... Our Health that is what matters most and I need to be here for my children for many years to come

  4. @@Jenjen2016 I started 1/21/2016 and the Bariatric center that I used required that you complete a Nutrition class followed by one on one NUT appointments ( as many as needed but more than 4), Psych Evaluation, Monthly weigh ins, Labwork and PCP Letter of Support. All of these needed to be completed before you could meet with the Surgeon. The NUT appointments are vital here and if you don't do what is expected of you they 1) drop you from the program or 2) it takes even longer. My insurance did not require any of this.

  5. I was told that I need A complete Vitamin like Flintstone Complete or Centrum chewable 2x daily. I feel like I should be taking something more. No chewy or gummy vitamins at all. He did not say anything about Calcium however I have to take a class and they go over everything else. So my question is what are you guys taking and where is the best place to get them. Please let me know if it is liquid or Chewable or Pill form also please let me know what you guys were taking in the beginning verses months later. Also do Patches work?

  6. Thanks guys. So the appointment went well with the surgeon. He suggested the Sleeve instead of Rny because of my intestinal issues. He didn't feel comfortable changing things. So I now have my Surgery date August 24... I also have my pre op testing and post op follow up appointment scheduled..
