MaryinNOLA got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Self pay and could cry over the amount, couple of questions
Yes, 100% had to be paid in full. In fact, the surgeon wouldn't even schedule it until I paid her fee. Then I had to pay all hospital fees a few days before surgery at my pre-op appointment.
The surgeon's office offered financing but I personally thought the interest rates and fees were ridiculous. I decided to pay half up front and apply for an 36 month interest free credit card for the balance. So I have 3 years to pay off that Visa card without having to pay interest.

I would encourage you to work on the mental part of eating. Unfortunately, we cannot control what others eat around us and we have become obese because of the bad food choices we've made. I didn't go into this expecting my family to change their eating habits. In fact, I find myself cooking for them - but healthier choices. During my pre-op diet I would eat dinner every night with my husband. He had a delicious meal and I drank a Protein shake. I teasingly told my husband to call our local tv station and ask them to stop advertising all that junk food on tv. lol Bad food will always be around us and we just have to get mentally okay with that. Honestly, that is probably harder than just eating too much when we are really hungry. Good luck and don't let anyone ruin it for you.

I won't have surgery until the 24th. However, my friend that is 15 month's post surgery just had a Tummy Tuck on January 29th and said it was so worth it. Said the surgery was a whole lot more painful than sleeve was but lost 10 pounds of skin and went down another size. I'm just going to wait and see how I feel before deciding anything. First gotta lose the weight.
